"MOVING ON" bad company

Well, the election has finally been and gone. From my perspective, there were some disappointments and some things to look forward too also.

First, let me congratulate the winners: Mr. Flock, Mrs. Jenkins, Mr. DeLeone and Mr. Hach, Mr. Dillard, Mr. Grippi and Mr. Costell. I’d like to thank all the candidates that took the time to make Painesville a better place to live.

Many of you may think I would be upset by the results. Maybe a little confused would be a better choice of words. I guess Ward IV residents can comprehend their council member making an expensive mistake and/or the alternative, John Murphy just wasn't what they were looking for.

Did Ms. Jenkins beat Hal Werner or did Hal Werner beat Hal Werner in Ward II? Say what you will, he gave it his best. Mike DeLeone in Ward III pounded on doors and made himself known in the community as well as Ward 3. He should be given the opportunity to show us what he can do. I hope he is the independent that he says he is. Ward 3 has been too long without proper representation. Either candidate would have been a major improvement. As far as Andy Flock is concerned, I guess all that can be said is Ward 1 is content.

The school board will have two new members as well as an experienced board-president coming back. I'm not sure, but I believe there just might be a new direction to the administration on its way…maybe the rubber stamp era is over. Experience, knowing what is behind the curtain and having a stake with your children in the system seems like a winning combination to me. Congratulations to Mr. Powers also. Smooth, very smooth.

Regarding the defeat of Issue 2: cannot say we did not see that coming. I believe our Governor reached way too far. Someone please let him know that we really care about our safety forces and teachers. At the same time Issue 2 was failing in the state many city and school levies were also failing. Someone posted that you cannot vote ‘No’ on Issue 2 and then vote ‘No’ on levies. That’s an interesting school of thought.

Now I can get back to the mundane. How new water pipes can go from costing a million dollars to $275,000 and where to find the money for the S.R.O. as well as keeping ‘Exterminator’ stuck to the ceiling.

One final thought, it was refreshing not seeing a candidate, or any misguided backers attempting to smear anyone in last days of the campaign.

While I am no longer a resident of Painesville, I have strong family ties to the area and wish the city the best. Itvis refreshing to see some new faces who simply want the best for the city, residents and students and not just see their name on an annual ballot. The voters did well in their choices and I look forward to seeing progress in the place that was home for may years. There are still a few that need to walk away, but Painesville seems to be heading in a better direction.

Arlene and Paul Hach high vote getters. Need you ask more why this city is in the state it's in?
On Amp-Ohio did Paul listen to Arlene or did Arlene listen to Paul? Or did they both get duped by Joe and Rita?

There really wasn't any excuse for Becks or Hach to follow Hada/McMahon into the whole AMP mess. There were plenty of citizens telling them not to and why not to. The more the citizens begged them not to, the more they dug in their heels. I would be very ashamed if I were them. It's not like they weren't told and told and told. But still people re-elected Hach. I just don't get it.

Term, sorry I accidentally posted on the wrong story. Haha, I am getting old. Guess I should be thankful that I can still use the computer. Anyway my post was just sent about DeLeone's hard work and how nice it was to see it paying off. Also good to see you noticed it too and nice to see this post without any negative toward that young guy who worked very hard over the last few months to win the election. Any chance you could move my post to this story from the letter? Sorry for the trouble and I understand if you can't. Thought I was posting it here, darn computers!

Term 4:30: Thank goodness someone is doing something about the illegals here, and about the illegals taking our jobs. Is there any more news on the ICE raid?

What does anyone know about the ICE raids? There has been nothing in the news. Does someone out there know anything?

5:38 Your right nothing in the paper, surprise! I have confirmed a raid at a plant on Tyler took place Mill-Rose. Until our courts tell us more that's the story.

5:03 Should a recall be pursued? The one up for re-electing voted and Painesville is in the hole for over 2.7 million? The council person that took the time to look into the issue and voted against it lost? What am I to assume the people want? I will tell you it would be an up hill battle and due to our charter almost an immpossible task.

Ward 3 elected a new councilman that will take over in two years as law director when Gurley retires. That's what you people voted for. Another person using Painesville for their own steping stone. Ask Lori she's doing at we watch! Will we all have to listen to her go on and on like she did Monday night? I watched twice what was her point other then camera time? How long before her husbands truck is found in violation? Bet there isn't a ticket in his future.

Lori should resign!

I'm not surprised that nothing is in The News-Herald. They favor the takeover of our country by the illegals, apparantly. They always do a big story on the poor, poor illegals marching on OUR country for rights when they don't have the right to even BE here. On the other hand, it's hard to even get a two-inch announcement of any anti-illegal activity. And now here we go with raids on people here illegally AND taking our jobs, and nothing from our local rag.

If ICE can raid a factory, how can we get them to raid the entire town of Painesville? Start at all the Mexican restaurants then the schools and go from there.
As for the "Local Rag" comment, they hit an all time low last Friday when the reminder to turn back the clocks was printed without the L in clocks. Check it out - front page bottom right. Now that's real professionalism.

Is Jalapeno Loco closed?

At November 15, 2011 at 6:50 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Wouldn't be surprised if Jalapeño Loco is closed; we were there a week or two ago and they were not able to serve alcohol due to a problem with the liquor license, and the place was empty. Went to Nemeth's for a drink after dinner and two young ladies who had also been at the restaurant showed up shortly after we did - "Oh, you needed a drink too?" Heh.
