"FIXING A HOLE" beatles

Well in my travels today, someone called and mentioned that I should go over to the former Huntington School and asked what I thought of the progress on the "Park" along with the "Water Retention Area"?
I couldn't believe my eyes when I got to Huntington. This is a open post to anyone who attended the Elm St. or Huntington site proposal meetings.
We were flat out lied to, by Park Director Lee Homyock, along with the City Manager Rita McMahon. The retention basin is not where they said it would be, along with not being the size in width, length, and depth. I will post pictures in the near future of me standing along the east wall [90%] with my arms in the air and I'm still not reaching the top. We were told it would be on the north end between Owego and St. Clair.St. To our city officials you got us again! To Councilman Flock and Council at Large DaNallo are they trying to make you two out to be fools? If neither of you don't gets up and tell the administration this is not what you signed on to. Councilman Werner would you let them do this yo State St? Councilman Hach the same goes for you; go over and look, and tell me you would approve this at the Lathrop site. This is not what was on the drawing. I attended both meetings and I know both Flock and DiNallo attended at least one, do either of you remember this proposal? What a bunch we got running this town!

If you think they lied about this wait until the hospital site along with the electric bill hits. That's when you can listen to some tall stories.
This has been going on for ever.

It seems the powers that be, want to make Flock look like a fool, and Lori just got caught in the cross-fire. To bad its the residents that will have to pay for the stupidity of the administration. No sane parent would let their child play in that area now.
Live, work, play along with getting screwed should be the slogan.
When did the council vote to approve the spending of this grand canyon?

For those watching what is going on in Cuyahoga County any chance the FBI is headed to Painesville?
Russo and Dimora might need a bit of company.

With all that is supposed to be going on here how is this sliding under the carpet?

I was at the Huntington meeting and remember the drawing fairly well. I also remember some of the pointed questions the Rec Director answered. The retention pond was shown as covering less than half of the site. There was a walkway around the whole site plus paths on the park half. Someone asked about fencing around the pond...and the fearless leader responded that there would be a wildflower/greenery barrier planted and that would be sufficient to address safety concerns. Life is most definitely not imitating art. The city had better do some damage control here; an explanation is in order.

It's the north end, do you really think the administration gives a flying $%^# what residents there think?
Your right about one thing they would never get away with this at the Lathrop or State St. site. The residents there wouldn't put up with this crap!
Well Cmag's look at it this way you got a community pool.

I could see this coming a mile away.
Wasn't North Ave.getting repaved this year? Funny Meriden Ave, Cedarbrook, Jefferson St. along with Horvaths Circle what ever its called got repaved already. Where's your buddy Flock? They have been sticking it to him for years.
What wwill they tell him now? It's not Fisical Resposible????
Get someone in there that will follow the leader.

You don't know anything about what they are doing, they need to build things up to grade, just wait, it will be nice.

Since all of you are arm chair architects, did any of you stop to think it's the beginning phase?
And maybe things just don't look as they should because it's just started?

I`m not a resident but frequently drive past this location. Please tell me this is some kind of sick joke! How the hell could the residents of this area put up with this atrocity? I feel sorry for Painesville citizens. It would be a cold day in hell before I would move there. GEEZ

Okay, what are the avenues available to us to get rid of McMahon? Does it take a charter change, or what? We obviously need to have the power to elect and/or vote out the city manager. Or is it a mayor that we need? Maybe we need a mayor in charge with a city manager as a flat-out employee working under the mayor.
Or maybe we need a mayor with schooling as a city manager.
Or maybe we need a city manager that THE PEOPLE can vote in or out.
Really, who knows about this? What are our options?

12:38 I was told at last nights council meeting that they followed exactly what they staked out. Funny, they may be right but if I remembber correctly I followed what I thought were the path stakes, and sorry but I would be far into that hole. Their not done? The east wall is a 90% straight drop. No fence, why?
We were told it would be a small retention pond. If something of this size has been needed all along, why didn't the city purchase the school owned property between North Ave. and Skinner Ave.
Sorry this doesn't fly. Please if anyone thought sitting at either meetings that this is what was goimg to be built please contact me.
Quick note, council approved the zoning change so that family can move into Condon Ct. It's harder to move into Painesville then Gates Mills. Zoning wait until I tell you of all the non-conforming property in town, along with people that live their not even knowing.
An example their are two properties on Chatfield Dr. ]next to the Y ] that are zoned M-1 [manufacturing and residential?

TERM>> won't save you from anything. You must do it yourself, if your mad at me for pointing some of the failures and mistakes around Painesville so be it. I have always loved this community and for over the past ten years have seen it slip even farther down. I don't know what exactly caused all this but my goal is to at least make you aware.
What's your property worth?
Do you think Painesville is a town people want to send their children to get an education?
How do you like shopping at all the stores?
To top it off it's starting to cost you a ton of money to live here.

Dear Mr. Term, could you get someone from the city or council to ride our bus to school down Elm St. Its an awful bad road. My mom said to ask you?

To the student rider I will ask, no promise anyone will ride with you.

Good one, nice sarcasm -September 14, 2010 6:07 PM!
About the repaving- Councilman Flock has a nice paved road and has for some time now.

12:21 Either you have no idea where councilman Flock residence is or your idea of a nice paved road is different then mine. Hine Ave. was repaved from Sanford St. to Transit Ave. Flock lives near St. Clair St. that half mile of street was left unrepaired... go look, please.
The bus traveling down Elm St. have children bouncing out of their seats, the kid wasn't being
sarcastic, he was telling the truth.

To our young school bus rider on Elm St. Expressed your problem qwith councilman Flock. He called the Transportation Depatment about riding some of the school buses on Elm.
He was informed it was against school policy to let adults with no children on a bus.
Until I can figure out a way to solve this for you hold tight and trry not bouncing off the roof of the bus. Maybe the bus is traveling to fast for road conditions?
Ask your Mom to ride along one day? That might get you a result.
