"DREAM,DREAM,DREAM, everly brothers

Dream Act, Sorry President Obama this one doesn't work for me.
First off I believe any individual that would give four years to any branch of the United States Armed Services should be granted citizenship along with his/her spouse and children. That's it period. He or she could attend college after they finish their service obligation.
No citizenship for his sister, brother, aunt, uncle, second cousin, even mom and dad.
Now my Democratic friends are trying something I really despise; packaging something with something else to get it passed. Didn't you learn when the other side did it, people replaced them?
Well, now the good news..... it FAILED. How out of touch can these legislators be?
The Dems thought that they could shame the 6 or 7 GOP senators who were for Comprehensive Immigration last year to hold their votes? How stupid was this idea?
Maybe Harry Reid was playing to his Hispanic base?
Maybe I should see this only as a promise kept to the Hispanic caucus for their support in the last election. Along with the one in forty days? Wonder how Congressman Luis Gutierrz is spinning this?
What exactly does DREAM stand for? Development,Relief & Education for Alien Minors.
Now what exactly does my DREAM Act mean? Development, Relief & Education for "AMERICAN" Minors.
This country has done so much for the world....its time to turn inward and start thinking about our own children and grandchildren.
This country starts rewarding law breakers there won't be a fence high enough to keep everyone out.... Then the ship will sink.
I guarantee it.
Politicians promising people something they cannot deliver has never worked. The Republicans have promised to end abortion for over thirty years, along with Democrats that will promise Hispanics amnesty. Will either ever deliver?
Why should they.... it keeps these groups in their camp.

I am in agreement with you about the Dream Act. We must speak out about this and not allow it to happen. It's not the children's fault, but it's not my fault or our country's fault, either, that their parents broke our laws. By the time these kids are college age, we have already paid plenty for them. They, too, will have to go home to their native countries. There they can help to fix their own countries so they can have a nice life there.

Expecting that we can legalize one hispanic and not have 50 relatives here also for each one, is unrealistic. They have done studies on it, and I think the number was 50. Someone can correct me if I am wrong. Too lazy to go back and look it up. You also have to figure that each one of those 50 that will also end up here also has a different set of relatives through marraige, etc. And so on and so on.

We just cannot make that kind of allowance. It is just not our fault that they are here, and any compromise will be disastrous. As it is, if they do not go back and retract all the citizenships of all the anchor babies, even if we get them out now, they will all be back soon enough with their 50 relatives. That alone may be enough to take us down.

The only allowance we can make is for farm workers only. That cannot include factory, building or any other kind of workers where Americans will do the jobs. They can come on a two-year pass, or one-year even, and then it's the next guy's turn. Period. They created their own illegal problem, and if there are any prices to pay, they will just have to pay them.

And if any babies are born here while the women are here, they cannot become citizens. There is really nothing else to be done. If we want to save America, this must be done now. Can you imagine what better shape we would be in right now if they were all sent out. I think it would be astounding how fast our country would turn around.

Here's an interesting little tidbit I had forgotten about. Did you know that we had a Congressional Hispanic Caucus? Back in November of 2009, Rep. Nydia Velazquez, head of the caucus, made it very clear that their votes on a health care issue would be "no", unless illegal immigrants were allowed to buy into health insurance in the United States!
I don't believe they got away with that blackmail, and I don't believe that illegals have that right, but here is another prime example of Hispanics in our government caring for the illegals and not the legal citizens of the United States.
Just a reminder to be careful who you vote for, and please do not vote for any Latinos for any position of government in our country, and that includes city positions.
(Thanks to an article in The News-Herald for bringing this to my attention.)
