"LITTLE BIT ME, A LITTLE BIT YOU" monkees

Let me first start by saying I have given a lot of thought to the new fire station on Jackson St. Sorry, Painesville I can not presently see raising my property tax $87.50 per $100,000 of property value to build this. The solution in the short term was to help Grand River and Painesville Township man the Grand River fire station.
I don't care what the fire chief and the city manager have told council I could beat them to Cobblestone from Grand River station by four to five minutes every time.
Now lets start with two situations.
A little boy almost drowns in the pool at Cobblestone will that three to five minutes make a difference in the outcome of this story?
A young child is struck by a car at Liberty St. and Rt.84 the intersection where George's Famous Dinner Bell was located. This intersection is in Painesville Township meaning an EMS unit would be dispatched from either the Nye Road station or the Bowhall Road station. Wonder if that childs parents would feel better if the EMS unit was coming from downtown Painesville a few minutes away.
Lets try to co-operate for the safety of the communities. Painesville agrees to be first responders in that section of Painesville Township and they help us at Cobblestone. If its a money issue the communities can sit down every year and work it out.
I'm no expert on how all this could be handled and if there are people out there that know a better way please respond on this site.
Are there any leaders in Painesville with the stature to reach out to our neighbors for the good of all communities in our area?

Never fly, it just makes to much sense and saves money. Why bother?

This City need to realize that until you get rid of the city manager and fire chief nothing will improve. The other entities don't want to work with Painesville because they don't like/trust those two.

So your solution is to take on more responsibility? Your nuts!

No, the townshipo covers Cobblestone, their closer, and we cover that area in the township that is south of us. We're closer.
It's a trade off.

To 2:40....read it again....not more responsibility; SHARED responsibility.

The Queen and her 7 dwarfs will never go for this. It intrudes on her fiefdom.
No other community leader leaves their back excp[osed to her. She can not be trusted.

You know, McMahon left town on a rail (is that the saying?) before she was brought back to be Painesville's city manager. She needs to get back on that train.
Hey Rita, HOW much did you lose us with AMP? STILL waiting for that answer.

You will never get cooperation from the nearby townships until Rita puts in writing she will no longer annex their land.
People tell me Painesville officals have been trying to befrend industries on Freedom Road.
She is not to be trusted?

What ever did the city manager do to not be trusted? She answers to council, so that must mean council cant be trusted. The fire chief, what did he do? and why not trust him?
Please explain, but really,
I think you just have lots of trust and paranoia issues don't you?

I'd really would like to know your true identity! Who are you?
And where do you work?
I'd love to meet you in person. Do you go to council meetings?
I sure would like to know where you and some of the people who use this site work so I could see just how they are at thier jobs. Then make lots of negative comments to your boss when I THINK or BELIEVE you screwed up or treated me bad.
And yes I will sign this anonymous.
Show yourself & I'll do the same. Until then I'll play the same game you do.

I live in the city and have spoken to other city leaders. Rita McMahon and Joe Hada are not trusted. These comments were made off the record. Now find me a city leader that will work with either.
I have to prove myself at work daily. I watch the council meeting on TV because I don't think I could stop myself from screaming if I was there in person.
If you think this city is being run properly you have very low standards.

I think part of the problem with the fire chief and any other department heads in this town, including police, is that if they do not do what Rita wants, there is trouble. I don't think there is a give and take there that allows them to have an open, honest discussion and come to terms with each other and what each thinks needs to happen. No room for compromise. I think they do it her way or it's the highway. I might not know enough about what I am talking about here, but looking in completely from the outside, that's what it seems like to me. Term, do you have an opinion on this?

Thats what I thought-no answers.

To 12:08....you're right...no answers...but there sure are a lot of questions! Why is it so difficult to pry a reasonable answer out of this administration? My guess is because we won't like the truth...so an evasion or non-response is what we get. That has been enough for most poeple up to now...Citizens are getting smarter and doing some research on their own now...and folks are getting tired of being talked down to as if they are idiots. Its going to get much more difficult to snow the voters; can't wait til November!

Yes you may have to prove yourself at work and I do too. But not to all the nit-twits who have an opinion about everything and wont run for council to change things. Its easire to run their mouth but not do anyting to chang things.

The purpose of this blog. was to let people in Painesville hear and sound-off on the things that go on around here. Painesville Magazine, Painesville Pride, along with the city newsletter only show one side.
Let's hear both sides. As one person once told me you can put a wig and lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig.
Something you must take into account, the nit-twit's as you call them for the most part pay the freight around here. Along with having the right to run their mouths!

I guess we're not allowed to complain now. Only shut-up and empty your wallet. If people really think their living in Utopia, They must be nuts.

Term...although I really believe you would be a great councilman (honest and with the residents' best interests foremost) I think what you are doing now is very important too. In case 1:58 doesn't get it (and its pretty obvious he/she doesn't)you are what is considered a 'citizen activist'. That is part of how and why our system works; because citizens get involved and demand an accounting from our (mostly) elected officials. It is most definitely your right to do so and I hope you keep up the good work; it is effective. The only people that don't like questions are the ones that have something to hide. When the fat lady sings this administration's sorcery with money will make Nero look like a financial genius. Keep asking those tough questions PLEASE.

Alice thank-you, but I have no desire to run for any public office. I just feel this present admininistration and some members of council are on a very distructive track concerning Painesville. A good example was the story in the News-Herald about the successes in the last year in Painesville? Sorry not buying it.
More people are needed to ask the city questions and demand answers.
I like my present role.
