3) Hope not

1. Yes it would, and why?
2. If its been tested why wasn't the school campus located there? That was the first choice. Who did the testing? When and where are the reports?
3. Ha, she brings so much to the table.
4. He better move into the ward then.
5. could care less going friday, saturday.
6. What kind of friends does he have, are they blind?

1. Was involved with the Citizen's Polic Academy (several years ago when it was week after week) and the teaching emphasis by all levels of the force were on doing everything correctly (for the courts) or you lose the case. The person must have purchased a hispanic/to English dictionary to discover the overused word; "Discrimination.
2. I remember the articles in the News-Herald in reference to the schools/hospital building in that area. The powers to be that oversee these 2 entities (state level) did not like what they read in the land analysis.
3. Good for Abbey! Then her and Karen can run as fast as they can out of the Ville and we will elect another of greater caliber.
4. A scenario that was planned and in writing before the last election. The appointed one will be another vote that saves Rita's posterior from being thrown under the truck and out of town.
5. Will not be there on Sunday, can't wait to hear what it is - on and on and on and on.
6. Gibbs or M. Silver? Cancelled checks proving a complete purchase of the areas from both with absolute and complete insurance coverage? Now who would have that much money? Give you one big guess.
7. Gee, security utilizing our tax dollars to insure that no one steals all of the copper, aluminum etc. And of course higher payment of electricity to the Ville - again with our tax dollars. Ask away for an operations levy: it will get the same treatment as the City Charter Amendment levy did in 2005. VOTE NO ON ISSUE __? You didn't plan for the future with your ridiculous school bond levy, and we know that you will just throw together anything you can for future maintenance and try to place it on the ballot when the least amount of taxpayers are in town. Guess what? WE WILL TURN YOUR LIGHTS OUT REAL FAST!!!

All I want to see is if city council treats all citizens like they do the "winers" down at Millstone. I lost over $8,000 on the flood [after FEMA] where is my compensation? If you want to give money away give it to all of us. Talked to a councilman and he had no clue.

the reason they have no clue they do not get involved with the day to day activities. FOUR BOBBLE HEADS... FOR RITA ...

why doesn't city council have a office space at city hall???? if they had a office at city hall they would be more aware of the day to day activities of the city. also they would know how our money is being spent!!!!!!!

At July 14, 2008 at 3:25 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Why? All they do is what their told to do, vote "YES". Oh yea they give out alot of plaques. The powers should just send out a sheet of paper that says, vote yes and shutup!

At July 14, 2008 at 7:27 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

One reason they don't need an office is because of their day jobs, how much time would it be used. But the better reason would be if they had an office you & your friends would gripe about that too. Maybe they don't want to give you anymore clueless ammunition to fire back at them about.

Well, we could just hire another assistant to take calls for council in that City Council office. That way all calls would be taken and sent to the correct council person. Of course that person would also answer to Rita. What better way to have even more control than to monitor all the calls to your council person. BIG BROTHER?

Whoops BIG SISTER

At first I was going to delete this post, but someone must educate some of these young people[and some older ones] about being an American.
We have something in this country called the Bill of Rights. If you have graduated from High School in the last 25 years you may not have been taught them. One is the right of free speech. another is the right to assemble, and finally the right to petition the government for what they think is a wrong. Instead of calling them Racist Republican. They really are Patroitic Americans. I for one know alot of Democrats they fully agree with them. So to get this straight your mad at some citizens who are against law breaking illegals that have broken laws to be here. My only reply and prayer is that ICE will be here this weekend. TERM>>

I am not republican and not racist but I am totally against illegal immigration. I will be stopping by the Rally Team's booth and seeing how I can get involved. To hear an illegal protest against legal citizens just makes my blood boil. I might night have gotten involved before, but now I will.

Talking about the Party in the park, does anyone know how much money it cost for the set up of it ?
I saw up to 6 city trucks at the park over 3 days and they were running most of the time, and they will be there to take it down too, Who pays for that ?

Is her boy friend an illegal, if so let's run him out of town, along with the rest of them.

Believe me the City of Painesville makes out on this deal, and has no problem taking all the credit.

ICE has been notified. Let's hope her boyfriend shows up. These people don't hide in the shadows. They flaunt their illegal status.

Something I would like to open for discussion...... The City Manager gets a pretty nice wage and incentive package from the residents of this town. Can anyone tell me what the going wage is for a council person?
I have heard $6,000 per year. I know Cleveland Council people get $75,000 per year. I know a couple Cleveland Council people and they work full time for their constituents.

It takes a great deal of time to serve on all the committees, show up for council, wade through a pack of paper and be informed. Can't believe I am going to say this but you get what you pay for.

There are few who want the job on council. It's a huge time commitment, not to mention everybody has your email and phone number. Personally, I'd wake up every morning thinking......... stick in the eye or council ....... I'd go for the stick!

If and when the City Manager steps aside I believe council should step back on the financial package offered the City Manager and give council people a raise.

I think it would bring a few more people back or at least get more civic minded folks to run for council.

ok have at it............ I have my bulletproof suit on LOL!

I say scrap the City Manager/Council system and have a Mayor directly elected by the residents. That way the Mayor is accountable to the residents and not a few cronies on Council.

But you do make a good point, that you get what you pay for.

Someone told me I should read this blog.

In a word, WOW.

From city manager, city council, Party in the Park, immigration, picnics, loud music and selective police enforcement, everyone is attacked.

I know who Rita and Hal are, but I don't know who Tony is. He seems to like hot dogs, music and picnics. Well, what's so un-American about hot dogs and picnics?

I have to do a little more reading to have an intelligent opinion about Gristmill/park/preserve everyone is talking about.

As far as loud music and immigration are concerned, as several people have said, " A Law is the Law" period. No exceptions for only certain people whatever their reason for breaking the law. Loud music or load motorcycles for that matter are annoying when heard constantly or over long periods. I have yet to hear his loud music to see if it falls into that category.

Now as far as throwing the words RACIST, REPUBLICAN, DEMOCRAT, or IDIOT like they were four letter words just show how uninformed people are. It also shows very little class and don't belong in a public blog. If you can't be positive or part of the solution, I'm sure TERM (moderator???) can show you the best place to go jump in the lake. Just my opinion.

This blog could be a good place to keep informed for the people who can't attend the council meetings and/or don't have cable TV.

Keep up the good and thankless work moderator (TERM). Looks like I will have to include this site in my daily sites to visit.

New in town, NO. Most of these things are not on the news or in the paper. If you are not able to attend council meetings or don't have cable like me, you don't hear much about things talked about here. I hope I can contribute in some small way. A place to have spirited discussions often with opposing viewpoints can be a good thing. But once people resort to name-calling, anything positive goes out the window. After all, open and proper communication is a powerful force.

Morning Badger!
Agreed we need more community discussion in town and this seems to be the best way to go. Andy Flock and Hal Werner have town meetings which are pretty good to have spirited conversations about town. Not sure they have done much good but gives my hope that folks will stay plugged in.
Term is great about posting the reviews here on the blog. Trying to keep the blog positive is sometimes a challenge but then so is living here at times.
Hope everyone has "fun" at Party in the Park....... this is one blogger who is headed to a clay conference in Louisville for the weekend, sorry I will miss the weekend!

Hey Farmers Market is today!!
