NO "POLYANNIA" HERE

I AM SO GLAD PEOPLE GO ON THIS BLOG. TO GET NEWS OUT, GOOD OR BAD. BUT FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT GET ANGRY ABOUT DIFFERENT POSTS OR COMMENTS ....TO BAD. THIS IS NOT THE "PAINESVILLE PRIDE" OR SOME NEWSLETTER FROM THE SCHOOL SYSTEM THAT TELLS YOU EVERYTHING IS WONDERFUL! NO THIS BLOG. DEALS IN REALITY NOTHING ELSE. ASK SOMEONE WHO GREW UP HERE OR LIVED HERE 5 TO 25 YEARS AGO, AND THE QUESTION THEY ALWAYS ASK IS
'WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?" THOSE OF YOU THAT ARE SO HAPPY GOD BLESS YOU. THOSE THAT WANT IMPROVEMENT HERES A PLACE TO LET YOUR IDEAS BE KNOWN. THINGS CAN BE CHANGED. I WAS AT A MEETING ONCE AND THE QUESTION WAS "WHEN WAS THE BEST TIMES FOR PAINESVILLE?' A CITY COUNCILPERSON SAID FROM THE AUDIENCE "RIGHT NOW!" YOU MUST BE KINDING RIGHT. ALL I ASK IS CIVILITY AND HONESTY. TO THOSE THAT THIS MAKES THEM ANGRY SO BE IT.

Painesville has been considered a low class community by the rest of the area long before this blog. appeared.
I would love to be around when you brag about Painesville, and watch everyone snicker.

If this city was so great...why then are the cities and townships all around us building and thriving? Why can't we get those establishments to build and relocate in PAINESVILLE? The image...we are the armpit of Lake County... We don't like to hear this BUT it is true...no one wants to come near us for any length of time. We LIVE HERE and that is why we don't want to acknowledge this fact! There is so much potential in this lovely New England-type town.....but we can not get away from the image.... I think we need to turn a NEGATIVE into a POSITIVE... The legal Hispanic population could be one key to rebirth.... Someone with money and vision could make Painesville a destination for music, fun and food! Renaissance Parkway should be renamed UNLESS from this day forward the only companies that are allowed to build use in part, solar, wind or some type of enery efficient system... We could be the RENIASSANCE CITY.....Have a cultural REVIVAL... VIGOROUS artistic and intellectual activity (NEW SCHOOLS????) I think I have rambled enough BUT I feel better!

This city needs more than a couple of family owned businesses. Yes these are wonderful places to bring our families too. But what does this city really have to offer its own people.
Our children have nothing in this city. Well unless the parents have a deep pocket full of cash to watch their children play baseball NEXT TO a baseball field with no umpires. Yeah that's a true story. This didn't happen once or twice - try a whole baseball season. We as a community should be working to better the value of life for our children - they will be the ones running the show sooner than we know it.

What about Rec. Park and the other parks around town or the bike trail and the day camps, how can you say this city has nothing for kids to do, please, why don't you umpire a game, or coach a team, we have a good ball program as long as people help out, teach them to play in the dirt or fish.

Great places, but really how BAD is your town if WAL-MART doesnt want to locate here? Air-foil only came here for cheap electricity. thats all! We will all pay higher rates when we have to buy it on the open market.

Bike trail? They find dead bodies on the bike trails. Graffiti all over the fences? I wont let my kids near it.

Wal-Mart, that is your ideal of a good city ?

Let's talk about Dead bodies, I think there was one, self inflected.

The bike trail is very safe and used by a lot of people, including rangers, police, and vol. rangers.

Anyway, you should go with your kid's.

By the way theres graffiti everywere.

This lady was very sick, that is all you need to know.
Anyway it was not kept from anyone.

There was no cover up, you are just trying to start things, thats all you want to do, all the time.

At July 4, 2008 at 6:48 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

The whole point of the lady who was found on thr trail - was children found her on the way to school! Not one person wants to be the parents of the children who found that lady. What do you tell them? How do you explain to your children? No matter what side of the fence you are on - you wouldn't want to be the children or parents that had to deal with this.
I'm honestly not sure what programs were set-up for those families but I hope the city (not the schools) did something.

At July 4, 2008 at 8:21 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Set up a program? 90% of the people in town never knew about it.Thats one big broom and carpet they have at city hall. Let the citizens beaware of whats going on.
Last year there was a rape at Kenningston Apt. we didnt know about for at least a week until an arrest was made. In the meantime people on that side of town went about there business not knowing a crime had been committed. We should have been warned. I would have been more cautious.

The Police knew who did it, you did not need to be notified.

Are you calling our city leader a witch ?

You are such a sore looser.

Get over it.

I guess you would feel comfortable if there was no longer a sex offender list that is made public. Are you telling us that just as long as our police officers know; we don't need to be informed? I for one, believe that any neighborhood is only as good as its neighbors...which means open communication and cooperation. I am thankful for the police but firmly believe that I am just as responsible for my safety as they are. I sincerely hope nothing bad ever happens to you or yours....you may wish you had whistled a different tune and had the chance to be proactive.
