CHILL OUT WEEKEND IN THE 'VILLE

This weekend is "PARTY IN THE PARK" this event is not put on by the City, but by Painesville City Improvement Corporation They have changed there name recently so it might be "Area" now. This group of people fund so many great things in town I can't start to name them all. Three days of free music, good food and beverages at reasonable prices. See neighbors ,old classmates and possibly meet some new friends. A community gathering enjoy and have fun. If you know or see someone from "P.C.I.C" let them know how much you enjoyed the party.

How can anyone go to the P.I.T.P with all of the illegals there ?

Left town over two years ago and havent looked back. You people better get real the Hispanic people are the only people wanting to live in Painesville. No white or black people with any common sense will locate in your ville.
New schools? wow will the students be smarter now, cheap electricity? how often does it go off for no reason, fire hydrants that dont work. Neighborhoods flood but no insurance. Why its Painesville. Going to the beer tent for some brews and music and watch all the goofs.

It should be good this year. Gabe Cicconetti took over the music part, as some of the people who did it in the past stepped down. He has put a lot of effort into getting a diverse lineup from all over the country. It has really been publicized well. I'm betting this will be the largest turnout ever. This is the one weekend a year when I kind of wish I still lived in Painesville, so I could just walk home from a long night at the beer tent.

Walk home and be stoped by the panhandlers, or get pushed off of the sidewalks by the non-English speaking people.

At July 16, 2008 at 11:20 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I don't mind the non-English speaking people. I've never had any incidents with them in my time in the City. Most of our ancestors didn't speak English when they came over here. I had a neighbor who still doesn't, and he's over 80 years old and a former Nazi prison camp guard, but somehow he gets a free pass here.

If your neighbor is a former Nazi Guard , just maybe you should have stayed in Painesville.

How are you a U.S. citizen? You can't write proper English. Maybe your citizenship should be revoked.

If you revoke an american citizen's citizenship for improper English, then let's revoke the citizenship for all anchor babies who should never have been born here. Let's revoke the citizenship of all those granted amnesty in 1986.

I was up there earlier, and the place was filled with Italians, Irish, Germans, and other Europeans. What has Painesville become? There are immigrants everywhere. I'm not going back there this weekend.

At July 18, 2008 at 2:46 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I know a Mexican immigrant who's son joined the Marines and fought in Iraq. His father, the immigrant, just received his citizenship a year or two ago. It seems to me like they want to be Americans. I don't think getting dropped into the middle of a war zone is what everyone wants "handed to them."

I've seen the term "wetbacks" used on several occasions.

At July 21, 2008 at 7:45 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Si, that is a very bad racial slur.

At July 21, 2008 at 8:33 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

That reference was to "Operation Wetback" brought about in the '50's by President Dwight D. Eisenhauer.

I have not seen anyone use the term here other than in that reference......... go back and read it.

At July 21, 2008 at 9:29 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Exactly. "Operation Wetback" was the official government name for that program.

At July 21, 2008 at 10:11 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I understand how the phrase originated, but the term has developed into a racial slur. See the post on here at 5:34 PM on 07/16. It doesn't appear that it is being used in reference to a government program, but maybe I don't fully understand the English language and should be deported.

At July 21, 2008 at 10:35 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yup, surprised that made it to the blog. must have sifted through............

judging from the crowd this weekend I don't think the crowds stayed away. Parking lots were packed and lots of families pushing strollers with balloons and they weren't anchor babies folks. Looked pretty good for the city if you ask me.

Why are the City officials so afraid to show up at the Party? I was there all three nights, and I only saw Abby, Andy, and Paul. Maybe I missed some, but in all the years I've been going, I don't ever remember seeing Rita there. Are they afraid to face the public?

Sorry I disagree with you on "anchor babies." I've heard that term used on all major networks, newspapers and magazines.Plus
that law was never intended to be used by illegal aliens anyway, read your history books. Alot of people do not want the term "Illegal Alien" used, instead use "Undocumented Worker" sorry thats like calling a "Drug Dealer" an "Unlicensed Pharmacist." One question do you think the word "Gringo" is a racial slur?
TERM>>

At July 21, 2008 at 2:10 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

No,
It is not, gringo is derived from the spanish word griego, which means Greek, with the connotation of "foreigner", much as the English expression "it's all Greek to me"
Why would you ask that ?
Do you think it is ?
If so, why ?

"gringo" has become a racial slur against americans. The mexicans use it in a degrading manner so this goes both ways.

At July 22, 2008 at 1:16 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Great we have gone from "illegal aliens" to "illegal white pit bulls"? Plus we could use that muzzle on a few citizens.

At July 22, 2008 at 4:31 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yes we could put it on someone, like the one that thinks "Gringo" is a slur against americans.

At July 22, 2008 at 6:08 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Just because it is a pit bull, does not mean it is a vicious dog. I don't really like everyone walking around with pit bulls. They tend to make me nervous. It is ridiculous how it has become some sort of status symbol in inner-city America.

However, a dog is a product of how it is raised. I've seen vicious dachsunds and very calm and loving pit bulls. It is the owners that have given the dog a bad name. I could train a poodle to be vicious if I wanted to. Still, I did see it, and it made me a little nervous, more because you don't know what kind of owner it has.

At July 22, 2008 at 6:54 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

You are so wrong about the word Gringo being used as a slur against americans.

The posters on this blog regarding "illegals" which I can only assume means "people who look or sound mexican" often are racist. Whether they admit it or not or rationalize it to others doesn't matter. Bottom line: When you see people of another color skin or speaking another language do you assume they are illegal? If yes you are racist. You think they are below you because of their skin color or their language. Go ahead and rip me for this but you know inside your own head whether you judge people in this fashion. just be honest with yourself for 10 seconds and then feel free to go back to your racial ways if you like.
oh and I believe dog are only as vicious as you raise them to be.

At July 24, 2008 at 12:58 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Do not even presume to know what is going on inside my head. Because of the vast numbers of illegals in Painesville I'm sure we all wonder who is legal and who isn't. But it is not racist. It is reality. The illegal numbers outnumber the legals and that is a fact. And the fact that they are here illegally is what is upsetting, not their color or nationality. So get out of my head.

At July 24, 2008 at 1:10 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I was not trying to get in your head. I would never want to be there. I was only asking you to look inside yourself.

At July 24, 2008 at 1:28 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

anonymous you have a point. in fact you are right for at least some of the time. i will admit to seeing people and assuming (not just wondering) they are illegal. i do think people are below me if they are law breakers but i realize i do jump to that comclusion as im sure we all have at some point. i think we can all admit to that. i will try not to refer to them that way anymore on here

At July 25, 2008 at 4:13 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Presume nothing: "Illegal" means just that it is not racist, wrong or misinformed. If your not supposed to be here what do You call it? Go home tonight and find someone you don't know in your living room, what do you do? If you do anything to remove them are you a racist? Please live in the real world.

they treat us like crap and so many of us are afraid of them. They know that we don't do anything so they have free run of the city. We have to fear them and have to be very careful now where we go. And forget about taking a walk.

You have to be kidding, you are afraid of of all Latinos, you need to get some help.

At July 26, 2008 at 3:38 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Most of them think we are fools for letting them get away with what they can. Like going to Veteran Park and speaking about taking back what is theirs, you go to Mexico and try that, with dragging a Mexican flag behind you.

At July 26, 2008 at 6:12 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

You are the one that needs to get help to open your eyes if you think this city is safe. Our wives and daughters can't walk down the street without a car full of mexicans shouting sexual words at them. Yes, that makes me afraid. Look what happened in San Francisco. Believe me, events like that will be happening here before long. God help us all.

At July 26, 2008 at 6:21 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

OK some of you think we shouldn't be afraid - are you nuts. I don't walk in Painesville anymore. As a woman in this city, I have been put in positions that are unfair and scaring to me. How about the time I was walking down the street and a van drove off the road onto the sidewalk and four Mexicans jumped out with a knife. A 130lbs. young woman vs. 4 guys with a knife. I was blocked in and thank God there was a group of black teenage boys around. They were the ones who ran to the rescue. I was able to get away without any harm to myself.
Or when I'm in a store and a large group crowds around me and tries to grope me as they talk a millions words a minute. I have no idea what they are saying - but I know they were trying to scare me and guess what - they did.
I could go on and on with why I'm scared of them, but for good reason.
I truly believe if America got all the illegals out - I wouldn't have to face this when I leave my home. The Latinos would come here the right way want a better live for themselves, family, and community. The ILLEGALS - who knows - they already broke laws to get here. They probably will break more laws while they are here. Spanish people are not the problem - law breakers are the problem.

Igorance breeds Anarchy
When a government losses control of any situation, bad things will happen. First the United States Of American is a Sovereign Nation with legal laws and borders. We have dropped the ball on illegal aliens bigtime.
Federal level
State level
Local level
WHY!
chaos, disorder, mayhem, collapse of authority is just around the corner. We cant even have English as the official language.
If I hear one more offical at any level say "Our hands are tied!"
never mind I here that all the time.

Changing the subject. We WERE talking about racism, stereotyping and generalizing. Ok so they may have dropped the ball but that was not contested. Some government official's hands are tied depending on what you are asking them to do. Now if you had a specific request we could then discuss whether that request is proper in the first place and also who you are asking to implement it.

Chaos, disorder, mayhem, anarchy, lions and tigers and bears oh my!
It's time to suspend all civil rights and institute marshall law. I am going to buy a gun and put a 10 foot steel fence around my yard right now. I should probably armor my car too in case I venture into our lawless streets.

Geez man calm down or go get a sign and stand on the corner proclaiming the end of the world. The situation may not be good but its not as bad as you say it is.

Your comments = fear mongering
calm down

"now we have to do the pledge" like it is some bad medicine you have to take. Thank God we will now have the privilege of saying the pledge again. And since when does the school board appease anyone but themselves? They are bringing the pledge back because it is the right thing to do.

Not saying the pledge in school is the cause of all of society's problems today? That is a bit ridiculous but that is what it looks like you are asserting. You have a big problem with cause and effect my friend.

I support saying the pledge but I think we should be honest about its limited benefits.

Sounds like someone is longing for the "good old days". Break out the talkin’ pictures and someone get this guy a corncob pipe.

I'll give him one vote for saying the pledge though, it's not going to hurt.
