COMMUNICATION COMMUNICATION................

WENT TO THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING MONDAY AT 6:00 P.M. BY 6:30 P.M. I REALIZED THAT THE LOAN FOR THE SEWER TREATMENT PLANT UPGRADES WERE TIED INTO THE GRISTMILL PROJECT? IF I UNDERSTAND THIS RIGHT THE INTEREST ON THE LOAN AT THE TREATMENT PLANT WILL BE PUT TOWARDS THE GRISTMILL PROJECT BY THE STATE OF OHIO. COMES TO ABOUT A MILLION DOLLARS GIVE OR TAKE A FEW $100,000 WHICH WE DO A LOT OF AROUND HERE. NO COUNCILMAN WILL DO ANYTHING TO STOP THE FLOODED RESIDENTS FROM GETTING THEIR MONEY, BUT ONLY A FEW KNEW THIS PROPERTY WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO BE USED IN HE FUTURE.FOR ANY KIND OF DEVELOPMENT, USED FOR CROSS COUNTY SKING, AN AMPHITHEATER OR ANY OTHER GOOD USE IT WILL GO BACK TO ITS NATURAL STATE PERIOD. THE SAD THING IS THIS WILL BECOME A SANCTUARY FOR THE "HOMELESS". WE DON'T EVEN KNOW IF YOU CAN PUT A BENCH, TABLE OR A BATHROOM THERE. WE AS A CITY WILL HAVE NO SAY WHAT CAN BE THERE. THE CITY MANAGER CLAIMED ABOUT TWO FEET OF FILL WOULD TAKE THIS OUT OF THE FLOOD PLAIN? HERE IN PAINESVILLE WEVE GOT PRETTY GOOD AT MOVING DIRT AROUND. NOW THANKS TO THE MANAGMENT OF THIS CITY WE WILL HAVE TWO PIECES OF LAND ALONG THE RIVER WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING WITH. DON'T FORGET THAT 16 ACRES BY WINDJAMMERS CONDO'S THAT WE PAID $250,000 A FEW YEARS AGO AND IS MOSTLY UNDER WATER.
ONE EXTRA COMMENT COUNCLMAN FLOCK LET THE MANAGEMENT OF THE CITY KNOW HE WANTS BETTER COMMUNICATION THEN HE AND A FEW OTHER COUNCILPEOPLE HAVE BEEN GETTING. THE CITY MANAGER CLAIMS EVERYONE WAS KEPT INFORMED. MS. BECKS SAID "THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE SEEN THIS LETTER?" THE MANAGER AGREED SHE JUST RECIEVED IT TODAY.
I THINK THE RUBBER STAMP DAYS ARE BEHIND US.
MORE COMMENTS AT SPECIAL MEETING.

Do you people get the News Herald?
If you do, can you read.
It WAS stated before, the Gristmill property was not fit to be rebuilt on. Hello...Why would anyone take a chance, rebuild only to go through all that pain again.
Terminator, I know you didn't live in Gristmill or Millstone when the floods came. From the folks I know in Gristmill, they are happy with what is being done & they will be able to move on with their lives.
You need to do some positive things instead of that negativity you keep generating.

Tell me Francie why is the Gristmill, Millstone. Terminators problem or my problem or anyone elses in town? Did the people who live there see the river when they moved there. Never hear of floods or flood insurance? I have little sympathy for people that brag they live on a river then cry when it floods. Facts are not negativity. Francie go down to your bank and cut the people a check. Put your money where your mouth is.

G, you are so uninformed about the facts, you need to talk with someone about what this is all about.

Someone thinks I'm an idiot? I didn't spend $250,000 0n riverfront property thats not worth $25.00 the city management did. What does that make them? I would not make a comment like that if wasn't true. Call your friends at city hall and ask. TERM>>

TO ANONYMOUS; Or should I address you as the "A non pay attention mouse"? No one spoke about a park (on the river) near Windjammer Ct. Condos. The facts are as stated. A worthless tract of land that this administration wasted YOUR tax dollars on.
Contact Jennifer Bell (Clerk of Council) and have her give you the minutes of the meeting where this purchase was approved. In fact, when council was questioned about this purchase, the president at that time (Bill Horvath) stated: "We had to buy that property." No reply was given as to the "We had to."
Whoever you are, you obviously do not pay attention to any of the "trappings" of the administration of the City of "Ville"; or you are actually one of them with a fish hook connected to the inside of your mouth.
Get up and go search out the facts yourself! When you do find out the facts, go look in the mirror and tell yourself; "I am not smarter than a fifth grader, and I am the Idiot."
If you are one of them, shame on you!!

I feel deeply for the condo owners who lost everything in the flood and are now living in limbo. But the fault lies with the city administration. They should never have let it get this far where the only two choices are to vote yes for these restrictive grants and lose our riverfront, or vote no and screw over the condo owners. Council, you should be ashamed to have let Rita lead you down this path to where there is no winner, certainly no Painesville resident will be a winner. CPR

I have left the blog. up about the change in insurance. As a rule I would delete it. [we need more then hearsay]. This is so important that we find out what happened and why the city doesn't show the same consideration to the others flooded on Main St.
CPR Hit it right on the head.
News-Herald? They only comment when they want to make points with someone. Ask them with all the yearly flooding at the Chagrin River why they havent told Eastlake to make that property a preserve.
Metro-parks and the city want to tie up that land, in the worse way.
Why would anyone tie up the sewer plant improvements with a grant to take private land,to make it useless public land? What will the city lose off the tax rolls?TEREM>>
