" I DID IT MY WAY" frank sinatra

I have been told this will be the song to be played when the 45th President and First Lady dance to at the Inaugural Ball.

As someone who likes to use songs as they relate to something I do understand what our new President wishes to convey.  BUT

And now the end is near,
And I face my final curtain

More of a Funeral song then one embarking on being the leader of the free world.

Speaking of the free word, the phrase "America First" was last used in the 1930's
Leading to a dictator coming to power along with the Third Reich causing the massive death and destruction of WWII. History has a very strange way of repeating itself.

Now for todays post

That Damn Obama!

After eight years of destroying America's coal industry and putting mines and mine workers out of jobs in West Virginia, Kentucky and pretty much all of Appalachia. There's a new Sheriff in town that's going to bring those mines and make those mine workers whole again! But we don't use that much coal in America anymore? Yes but there is the export market. We mine it put it on a train take it to the harbor put it on a big ship sail halfway across the world to our friends in China and they will use it to power their power plants!
One problem...

China Scuttles Plans for 100 Coal Plants

China's energy regulator has ordered 11ovinces to stop more than 100 coal-fired power projects, with a combined installed capacity of more than 100 gigawatts. it's latest dramatic step to curb the use of fossil fuels in the world's to energy market.
Josephine Mason for Reuters

China weaning itself off fossil fuels and looking to the future with renewables such as solar and wind?

Who would have thought the reach of President Obama's decree? China? Or maybe this is 'fake' news? We will soon find out if those mines start up again or not.

Best guess many in the coal mining region of this country will be wearing those by then frayed and faded red "Make America Great" ballcaps and blaming whoever for their fate.

Well I guess we know where those Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey ringmaster uniforms went? Wonder who told Kellyanne Conway she would look good dressed as a circus clown? Hideous outfit to wear at this occasion. I a Republican!

I made the same observation! Instead of saying that we need to be on equal footing with other nations he wants to put America first above all other and not just equal to others! Germany in the 1930's!

It is not the final curtain. It is all just beginning. We can finally get the government out of our lives and out of our wallets. It isn't a crime to make money, and hopefully the government will finally see that.

7:08 take the time to read the words again? There is no beginning only the coming end. I have learned this is the #1 song at funerals in England. Fitting
3:41/3:17 First it isn't HIS song it's Sinatra's. I was not comparing him to Hitler! Back in the 1930's America took an America first and make America Great. Lead by the likes of Henry Ford and hero's like Charles Lindbergh we were persuaded to only care about ourselves. As Hitler drove through Europe and Japan through Southeast Asia we did nothing but watch. Until a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor did we wake up and realize the world was getting smaller and we no longer could avoid events in the world. Today in capitals all over the world our allies are probably wondering where we stand? Putin is reconstructing the old Soviet Union and I believe Trump will let him.
Will we support our NATO allies? Will we still support Israel with billions in aid? What about South Korea? That was the point I was trying to make.
I will not call you stupid. I only hope your ignorance doesn't come back to bite you on the A**!

12:08 I thought what you did. I wonder who suggested to her that was a good look for an Inauguration? I to thought hey, the circus is in town! This is gona be a fun 4 years!

Of course it's "his song". Just the same as at a wedding -"the bride & groom's"song. Same as first date music "it's our song". So why not his? Just because Sinatra sang it? Doesn't work that way. Plain and simple you just can't stand the man and would rather Hillary Clinton had gotten in to give what's left of this country away. I wish Mr. Trump the best and yes I voted for him. I had been a long time Democrat until voting before Obama's second term. Couldn't stand what was happening and sorry he had a second term. We need a lot more people like Trump who aren't afraid to do and say what needs to be done.

3:41,

No, we won't shut up. Besides, we already know that our criticisms and other comments annoy people like you (and Trump), so we're going to keep at it. If we have to suffer during these next four years, then we'll do our best to make sure that you and your ilk do, too.

The guy now in office is a pathological liar. He cannot seem to stand up and say anything that is not twisted or just a bald faced lie. If you really think he is going to bring those abandoned factories back to life I have a glitter pooping unicorn I'd like to show you. Technology ended so many of those jobs, not just the flight to other borders. There should have been retraining into new technology but the government didn't see fit to fund that path. My family grew up in the coal mines of PA and I can tell you, not one of my relatives loves their job or wants to head into the mines day after day. Now when I travel back through those hills I see wind turbines, 1,000's of turbines. We evolve, we find a better way.
The next 4 years is not about "make America great again" it more about MAKE AMERICA THINK AGAIN. If the money spent on these outrageous campaigns had been sunk into education and retraining we might make some progress. Unfortunately Trump will set this country back decades.

3:21 It will be his song when he starts receiving the residuals for the song? Ain't his and never will be.

3:41/6:31 He sure is one thin skinned guy. All of his followers will tell you the popular vote doesn't matter the electoral college is what counts! Except for one small man that can't take the fact the 2.8 million Americans voted for his opponent? So now we are off o a crazy witch-hunt to find million of illegal voters. I think it would be wise for our new President to read the 10th Amendment? Along with getting Mexico to pay for a wall when they won't even meet with him?

Sandy, it is so sad to see someone as intelligent as you taking these unfounded swipes at Trump, and yet you give Hillary a pass. Talk about pathological liars! She takes the prize. But you would never say anything against your beloved Party. And the fact that you can't see what happened to this country negatively the last 8 years says a lot. And 10:43, how do you think we felt the last 8 years. We didn't need safe rooms. We weren't snowflakes. As devastated as we were when Obama was in office we channeled our frustrations into working to institute a change in DC. You people are a bunch of sissies, all words and crying. Give me a break.

5:58 Yeah Sandy what's wrong with you? Standing behind your convictions and putting a name with them? Although my best guess is the reason they attack you Anonymously is probably they are ashamed by the vote they cast? Or when this all goes to Hell they can claim they had no part in it? And it will all go south sooner then you think. President Obama seems everybody has acquired amnesia about what the last mess he inherited? One thing you can count on is Republicans with very short memories? Sandy if nothing else you have my respect for at least standing behind your convictions. Unlike 5:58 who attacks you from a hidden corner. I expect no less from them.

5:58, I'm with you 100%. I am a former Democrat and, at this point, I am almost ashamed to say that. They couldn't win by calling him and his followers racists, etc., so now they are calling him a liar and saying he is unfit for office. And when Term gets a post that's too true, and he has no other way of attacking the writer, he attacks them for being anonymous. The Democrats are such liars now and such ridiculous babies, that it could be the downfall of the U.S. If anyone can give Hillary a pass, and focus on Trump, then they're not telling themselves the truth. I never thought I would hear myself say this, but thank God for the Republicans. More specifically, thank God for Trump. And if you want to hear a real baby, just listen to Term's ranting. Unbelievable, really. But Term never DID let the truth stand in his way.

3:20/5:58 Awhile back I decided if anyone attacked a commenter or myself Anonymously I wouldn't print their comment. Again after discussions with other's who told me not to-do that because just the mere fact that they criticize Anonymously how pathetic they sound? Numerous reasons are given my job, my stature in the community or even fear of some Liberal attacking them in the dark! No you people are just plain pathetic! One time in all these years of this blog. if I ever read a comment with a name and a number to verify not once has that happened. I guess your lucky I like reading what so many of you spout off on but staying in that dark corner with everyone realizing how pathetic some of you are. Thank God for secret ballots.

I wrote my own blog about my opinions of all parties running on the last ticket. Nobody was a winner. Go to my blog and enjoy the read.

Watching Trump gut the environment, women issues, education, the treasury, climb into bed Russia and dump 18 billion dollars into a wall you will pay for. I guess I'm holding out to see if he stands behind he promise to rebuild infrastructure. 18 billion might get that Vrooman Road Bridge finished. After watching the last week of Trump gutting democracy I will sign every petition, march as much as possible, call as many Congress people as I can and wear my pussy hat proudly.

It's been an honorable past 8 years with a stellar first family, not one ripple of scandal. Did I agree with everything the past administration did on policy; nope. Even when the RNC blocked Obama at every turn in the road, he steered this country away from the financial cliff and got this country back on its feet.

As for my party, I vote for the party that protects the environment, women's right, supports immigration for fleeing refugees of war torn countries, transparency, education and regulation of Wall Street and banks that are thought to be to big to fail.

If Romney or any other republican would have run on the ticket and won I don't believe this country would be this divided. For those who know their history, Trump is terrifying. He lost the popular vote but his ego just cannot handle the loss so he will sign an executive order and divert prescious funding away from needed programs (like science and health care) to make Texas count 40 million votes ...... again. Thankfully republican congressman Chaffetz declared its a waste and will not proceed.

Amazing how he signed in rules for extreme vetting on International Holocast Remerance Day.
And yes, I will sign my name!
Sandy

5:58,

I don't need a safe room. Rather than make empty promises to emigrate to Canada, or exist in an ideological bubble, I'm still living among people like you, because this, too, is my country. As for the "snowflake" insult, it's so overused and ineffective, it only reflects on how unimaginative the retorts on your side usually are, as well as how you are trained, much like a Pavlov dog, to respond to what your right-wing media masters condition you to say. Pavlov was Russian, by the way - oh, the irony! Another Pavlovian trait is your side continuing to bring up Hillary Clinton; the election is over and she's no longer relevant, not even to the left, so try to find another bogeyman/woman.
As far as what happened negatively to the U.S. in the past eight years, if you are referring to the economic problems of blue-collar workers and the middle class, they started a lot earlier than January 20, 2009. Factories closing down or being automated has been going on steadily since the 1970s, and it's an economic reality that can't be blamed solely on the policies of one president, no matter how much you would like to pin it all on Obama. What I think happened negatively to your side these past eight years was having to deal with the fact that an African-American was president, social changes going against your conservative beliefs (such as same-sex marriage), and the inevitable changing demographics of this nation. Oh, and whatever your side did to "institute a change in DC", you only won because Trump ran against a horrible candidate who didn't inspire the normal turnout at the polls.
Finally, calling us "sissies" - ooh, what a cutting, original insult! It's easy to be brave when you don't have to face your adversary in person, because, even you have to know that not everyone on the left fits your stereotype of being soft/weak. I seriously doubt that you would call LeBron James or Bernard Hopkins a "sissy" to their face.

Again, 12:19, when you can't win by merit, you result to calling the Republicans racists, etc., and you forget how many White people had to vote for Obama -- twice -- so that he could win, so your "Black President" racist comment is unsubstantiated also, and, if anything, Obama was treated with kid gloves. There was a lot of things he should have been called on and taken to task for that he was not. 6:41, you and 12:19, and Term, are the kind of people saying the kind of things that had so many Democrats defect over to Trump, and helped Trump win. Your party seems to think -- hugely -- that continuing with these tactics are going to help your cause, but it's just really making sure that more people will defect, and reassuring the people who already did that they made the right choice. The Democrats are just shocking, and have been for quite a few years now. Hence, my defection, along with many others, over to Trump and the Trump win. You lost; you should probably just get over it, and support the new president. You're just continuing to alienate people by talking and acting like you are. We just laugh at you all now, and everyone just turns off the Democratic channels as ludicrous. But you all just keep ramping it up. I don't think it's a winning strategy but, by all means, I do hope you keep it up.

7:06 See the way I see it you won the electoral college but lost the popular vote by almost three million. You hold the House and the Senate. but your losing the street badly! Something has awaken this country, It might be the sham of a President I don't know. In less than two weeks he has shown what a failure he is heading to be. Mistakes? He blames everyone but himself. Oh, theses are paid demonstrators really. They seem like a bunch of pissed off people who are not buying whatever he's selling. If that Wall of people in the street keeps it up well you finish the story. But remember how this country was founded.

7:06,

1) I don't think all Republicans are racists, but all racists seem to be Republicans, so it makes sense that they supported Trump after having to endure Obama for eight years. Also, you wrote that white people "had to vote" for Obama - really? Was this a law or rule that escaped the media's attention? And, nobody called Obama to task for a lot of things? Republicans in Congress, Republican voters, Fox News, and every right-wing pundit spent eight years criticizing him for everything, sometimes going beyond criticism with thinly-veiled racism, including your man Trump.

2) Again, we refuse to "get over it" because you say so. There is still free speech in this country, so after eight years of Tea Party protests, yahoos flying the Confederate battle flag, and so on, it's our turn to show our disapproval of who occupies the White House. You don't like it? Tough.

3) Your and your ilk now laugh at us? So? As if we're going to spend sleepless nights worrying about what you think; the results on November 8th was evidence enough of your thought processes.

4) Don't worry; we're going to keep up the protests, calling our representatives in Congress, and pressuring the media to finally do their jobs. A good number of Trump supporters are old, while younger people solidly support the left, so it's just a matter of time.

5) We'll see how many more people defect to Trump's side after he continues his rampage of changing policies and slashing programs, especially when he gets to cutting entitlements. Once Social Security and Medicare are cut, I'm sure that will win them over at Elks lodges, coffee shops and Wal-Marts everywhere. Hopefully, Republicans in the Senate finally decide to stand up and oppose Trump on this and other terrible ideas of his, since I think they like the idea of being in the majority, and want to stay there.

6) Your warnings regarding support for Trump are about as toothless as many of those who voted for him.

1:05...I don't think the Democrat demonstrators are impressing anyone but themselves. They are apparently going to be screaming over one faux issue after the other for the next four years, and it means nothing to me. Just one continuous, stupid outrage after the other. Blah, blah, blah. Don't the Democrats work? Go get yourself and the rest of your cry babies a nice, quiet, little safe space somewhere where you can finish out the next four years, and quit wasting your energy. You lost; get over it. I have a pacifier and a baby blanket you could have, since you seem to need it so badly. LOL
