"I GOTTA KNOW" elvis presley

Seriously I have to know, so I'm asking you.

The events internationally over the past couple of months has me wondering, are we in a Religious War and we just don't know or realize it?

ISIS indiscriminately killing Christian as well as other sects in Iraq?

The attack on the Canadian Parliament

Taliban killing student in Pakistan, I know they were also Muslims.

Some lone wolf killing people in a coffee shop in Australia.

Now 12 people killed in Paris in the name of Allah?

Least we forget 9/11.

Yet I am constantly told Islam is a peaceful religion? Only about 5% are radicalized? By my math that's a healthy 50 million people that hate us infidels.

At the same time no one  in the Muslim leadership condemns these acts of war.

I guess what I'm asking is it time to start dealing with these attacks as lone wolves, or unconnected cells differently along with the whole religion?

Maybe it's time to mount the horses and let the bugler let them know we are joining the fight?

Look please don't try to get me to believe this is about a cartoon, 100's of million Muslim believe what took place in France yesterday was a just response?

Am I a minority with this belief and just looking in  the wrong direction?

Please chime in.

JE SUIS CHARLIE

Until we toughen up, tighten our justice system and close our borders nothing is going to change. We didn't learn from 9-11 did we.

As we all know, more wars are fought in the "name" of religion that for any other reason.
That said, I agree with what you seem to be thinking. It makes no sense to me or to any person with any intelligence.
The issue seems to be, what can be done about it?
I doubt that there is a solution.

This has been a way of life. Since the days of knight Templers. This is what they know and how they live. They believe they are they only ones who have this rights and Everyone else is heathens. They have been fighting this way so long we are never going to change their minds and are fools for getting involved ...we can not win.

Where to start….. and watching the latest unfolding of the Paris attacks.

Key word in your post is leadership. When does the islamic leadership stand up and denounce the zealots, the wing nuts, the wanna be martyrs?

I took the time to see the cartoons that ignited this latest attack. I shuddered and had a very hard time going through the offensive cartoons, you don't need to speak French or worship at a mosque to be offended, it's very offensive. And yet Charlie Hebdou should be embraced and condemned.
That said, not my cup of humor but we have lost the ability to come to the table and deal with offenses on any level. Example the latest school shootings and bullying, police shootings etc.

Maybe there should be a class in school called; Coping in a Chaotic World. We have lost the ability to communicate and yet we have become a wash in global information and communication. This is becoming a guerrilla war and guerrilla wars are never won, look back on history. This will not be the last attack.
When do moral filters start to come into play, do we even have them anymore. The pendulum is swinging wildly these days.

I would prefer not to live in a police state but as people start to fear the chaos of social breakdown maybe it's coming, I hope not. There will be more attacks on American soil, we can't be that blind.

On so many levels we have lost the ability to cope. I watched a 4 year old turn a family-get-together into chaos, nobody knew how to cope with an out of control 4 year old. I am watching the weather turn daily life into momentary chaos. I was at the Boston bombing when Boston was rocked to it's core and Boston welcomed the lock down and police state (me too!). It's sad, it's outrageous and it's going to take more than praying to bring the peace to the world. And whatever happened to the Golden Rule? also known as the Rule Hammarabi from the days of Babylon.

A censored remark:.... What an incredible clump of thick head misogynistic anti-sematic racist you are.....

I guess this remark was meant for me ? Now again I am a racist.

Sandy, the cartoons were of very poor taste. I can't even understand their point. That said I have viewed a crucifix in urine, yet it did not for a minute sway my faith. Did I like it? No would I kill someone? No

Of course we are in a religious war. Apparently by the time we and our government wake up, it will be all over, and we, and the rest of the civilized people will be dead or living under their laws. Just like we are sitting on our stupid butts and letting our country being taken over by illegals. Former generations of Americans were very smart. Current generations are apparently complete idiots.

After listening to how freely the three terrorist walked around France and set up shop and then hearing the reports these same terrorists were on our "do not fly" list and marked as known terrorists, I felt pretty good about the old USA. WE gave France the information. The only country I see doing more is Great Britain who can seize a passport if you are under suspicion of sympathizing with known terrorist hot zones around the world.
No, we are not perfect but after today, I'm feeling a little better. We did learn from 9-11. Our agencies are talking to each other and sharing information to stop some of what we saw in France these past horrible days.
