"CHRISTMAS 2014"

This is just about the time many of us wish we were Jewish. How could the birth of the least materialistic savior become the biggest consumer not only day but season in man kinds history?

Who amongst you received that new Lexus?

Look two weeks ago I was informed my reset Mass (Midnight Mass) will be at 11:00 PM?

I expect a lot of surprised Catholics showing up at 11:45.

Saturday night I watched Thursday Night Football? Saturday edition, why can't it just be Saturday Night Football?

Seriously, Back to Christmas I hope this season finds your families in good health and it's been a reasonable successful year for all of you.

I sure some of you lost  a love one this year. My first love Shirley Temple passed away this year being five or six let's you believe a person who made a movie in 1935 is still six years old.  What a shock when I witnessed her live in 1956!

I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

A good friend once told me , if you stumble make it part of the dance.

Oh, and a special thanks to the Macy's Department Store for a continuing assortment of perfume and cologne commercials that I just didn't understand.

I have to ask this. With all the movies coming out on Christmas Day. I guess it must be a tradition of sorts. Myself I have never been to a movie on Christmas and no desire to. Is the attraction to just get away from a hectic day/ The movies will be there for a while.

This is just a question. Please it's not meant as a judgment.

I have gone to a movie on Christmas Day and also on Thanksgiving Day. My children go to inlaws on the holiday and we do our celebrations the weekend after Thanksgiving and Christmas Even. So rather than sit home alone, I go to the movies. Nothing sad about it. I have my family day, just not on the actual holiday. IT doesn't matter when, just that you have that day.

4:51 Chinese takeout, interesting.

7:23 That's a good reason , now what kind of movie most intrigues you to see on that day?
Can I ask which movie you will be seeing tomorrow?
Thinking you will enjoy that day.

This is our first year venturing out to see a movie on Christmas. We plan to go hiking in the morning at one of the metro parks, home for a nice Christmas dinner and the out to a movie. Looking forward to the Hobbit,

Us too, kids are out of state and all our relatives have passed on or live out of state, we are the only ones left in Ohio. And we do love it here :)

In Japan it has been a tradition to eat KFC chicken on Christmas Eve. It's their biggest sales day of the year? There not even Christians.

Same, kids grown and or out of state, grandchildren stop believing, loved ones in Heaven. Hubby and I prefer to leave but we also don't feel we should support business that are open on Christmas day. How fair is it to the employees to spend their day away from their family too? Where do the lonely go for the holiday?

Local cities need to enact legislation against Geoengineering.

8:21 in over the first 20 years of my life I worked ever holiday, Christmas to the Fourth of July. When I was hired I was told it came with the position. I made a choice and I lived with it happily. Many work on Holidays nurses, ER doctor's, police firemen, yeas even people in movie theaters.People who work at arena's. not just players, was there guilt in watching the Cav's vs. Heat game? Take it from me it wasn't the end of the world.
It comes with the job.

How many of you remember the Ohio Sunday Blue Law?

I do remember the Blue Law and I very much wish it was still on the books. Many people are so busy the have lost touch, others cant take a break from the TV, computer, cell phone, PlayStations, Xbox. This community keeps asking what is wrong with the schools, perhaps it isn't just the schools problem. We need to bring back that family unit - back when Sunday was for worship, gatherings and family dinners together minus the electronics attached to fingers and ears. And there is a big difference between needing to be open for business and being open just to make the almighty dollar. I see no justifiable reason most retail stores need to be open on Thanksgiving or any other holiday for that matter. I think people can find better things to do for the 7 major holidays a year. The employees should be getting to be with their families too. You can bet the big-shots are.
