Well if my predictions are correct the Republicans will control the House as well as the Senate after the November elections. That is if they don't shoot themselves in the foot again.
Interesting how a party can be the favorite for doing nothing? I know they pass bills but none of them stand a chance of passing the senate or the President that's why they have organizational meeting between the three of them. Is John Boehner Speaker of the House or Ted Cruz with pizza is? This party wants us to turn over control of power to them? They can't even control themselves. Plus the fact the President isn't even on the ballot. Can you override a veto?
First we heard of suing, then censoring, maybe impeachment a radio host speaking at a Tea Party cuckoo clock meeting suggested execution, I seriously wonder what the poll number for that idea is?
On the local front a Republican precinct committee member asked me what I thought of the GOP Convention coming to Cleveland next year. She was somewhat taken back by my answer.
She then asked if I would vote for ANY Republicans this November. Yes one for sure and presently two almost for sure.
Juvenile Judge Lawson has proven to be the right person for that job.
Ohio Governor John Kasich is a strong candidate because he put people in front of party when he expanded Medicaid. Gutsy call.
Kimberly Laurie for Lake County Commissioner seem Dan Troy feels that office is an entitlement to him, we need fresh blood... Here's the problem on the local level Kim holds her success to the local Tea Party along with Matt Lynch supporters for her win. She has little intention of endorsing Congressman David Joyce putting support for her by the Lake County Republican Party in jeopardy. Look maybe I should rethink this, if she can't get along with people even in her own party what chance does she have of being successful governing all the people of Lake County? If she retains the ideology of 20% of the electorate (Tea Party) maybe four more years of Dan Troy isn't such a bad idea? Don't believe me today August 7th I took a picture of the window of Lake GOP Headquarters NO Kimberly Laurie sign in the window. ( A sign for Dan Troy was?) What's with that? So am I to believe Matt Lynch supporters will vote for the Democratic challenger? I think not. So with all this going on a national and even local level how does this party plan to lead or run anything but their mouths?
Gotta go, some Republican Congressman claims the Democratic Party is at war with white people. Hey I'm white people?

Is Kim Laurie the best candidate? Who knows but we find out what the voters think soon enough.
The internal policy squabbles aside, Dan Troy is so long past his sell by date that I can't help but be amazed at how stupid voters must be. You need to change the oil in your car periodically to keep it running smoothly. How is this any different.
Please tell me one worthwhile thing that Troy has done in the last four years to improve Lake County? The only time you hear from him is when he is running for office (which he has done for a LONG time).
I'm a Democrat, and the problem with the immature, ridiculous, scary Republicans is that they are immature, ridiculous and scary so often, that when they say or do something that is correct, and is actually in the best interest of this country, then the equally entrenched, stupid (at this moment in time) Democrats can't see it. Obama's camp itself started the impeachment talk, for one thing, to make sure that the Democrats can win the upcoming elections by getting Hispanic support for promising to give away our country. Impeachment proceedings, however, should be started against him immediately for not upholding the laws of our country as it concerns the illegals, at the very least. Impeachment proceedings should have been undertaken against GW Bush when he was trying to legalize the illegals. It was ex-Republican President Ronald Reagan that did the second amnesty that started all this mess, and the fact alone that the illegals are not being forced out should most definitely be an act worthy of impeachment, let alone legalizing them. How can we possibly have Presidents of these United States that refuse to uphold our law, and that change them because they want to break them, as Obama is doing. It is a treacherous way to run a country. The Republicans may be idiots in my opinion most of the time, but they are right sometimes, and they are right about this, and Obama and the Democrats are actually scaring me worse right now than the Republicans are. I have also scoffed at the Tea Party since its inception, but they are the only ones who have not tried to give our country away with both hands. Leave this up to the Democrats, who are apparently too dumb to understand that we are losing our country and all of the other horrible repercussions that this country is suffering from all the illegals here, and very soon, our country will have imploded. Soon there will be no turning back. And anyone who doesn't think there is a war on white people in this country, should probably give that some more research, too. This is just my opinion, and I won't debate it with you, but your post is very narrow minded and shortsighted and uninformed. And people like you who are following the Democratic president and letting him throw this country away need to think outside of your Democratic box long enough to see the facts and fight your party while we still have a country we can fight for.
Saw the Troy sign but was in Senior Center window. True, no Laurie sign. Maybe she is a Republican in name only. Seems she is really a Tea Party candidate only. A commissioner want to be. Lots of doubt about her qualifications.
Let's be fair here, both parties are fighting or disagreeing among themselves. Both parties are equally to blame for being for being the most divided in recent history. It's become a big blame game. Who suffers the most, US.
Some changes are needed but we also need to think before we vote for someone.

BTW, I would feel exactly the same if the two candidates were reversed. I have no party affiliation so I would like to see the best candidate win and possibly inject new blood into the job.

i have to wonder who is the leader of the local Tea Party who picked Lynch and Laurie to support. The Republicans don't seem to like either one. Like you said Term, do they know something we don't? Troy, lack of accomplishments lately or Laurie, lack of any experience and lack of support from anyone but the extreme right Tea Party. We know what Troy does, but what does Laurie do for a living?
Not a big fan of Troy but I can't trust the Tea Party at all. At this point I trust my old used car.

I have attended many if not all the Tea Party Forums held at Harvey High over the past few years> I remember one meet the candidate night with even Democrats attending to share their views county auditor, recorders, and local or county office seekers were questioned my the moderator "What's your position on the Affordable Care Act" Many seemed confused as they thought the would be questioned on how best to preform the job they were trying to be elected to. No this was all about ideology. What would a county auditor have to do with national health care? Most of the candidates they endorsed seemed more interested in going to war against everything rather then governing.
I walked by the Laurie Booth several times during the 3 day Party in the Park and every time I saw Hal Werner and his wife passing out Tea Party propaganda. Troys not perfect, but he'll have my vote in November.

Well if you have been following the news for the last few days maybe some of you Democrats might understand why I am going to vote for Gov. Kasich. Ed Fitzgerald hasn't the sense to rent a motel room or renew his driver's license.

I don't believe the owner is a tea partier, but it's a public establishment go and ask her. My own thoughts are the Laurie feels it's more important to run with the one's that brung you (ideology)tea party... only to the delight of Dan Troy, who presently must think he's the luckiest guy in in county.
