I was unable to attend and I have satellite so no access to local city channels. Did anyone bring up the Waste Management debacle or were the council too busy fawning over that bakery to bother explaining to the riff raff why their bills have increased dramatically for no apparently good reason?

So does this mean Painesville City does not like Gartmans Model Bakery, they make bread also.

6:14 What aboout my mother she bakes bread? Look it was a nice idea. Maybe Gartman's can be the bithday cake of Painesville?

Anytime you start playing favorites you will run the risk of offending others. Gartman's has been here over 100 years, why would you even take a chance of upsetting them. Which hair brained councilman came up with that idea?

11:26 Council? You must be dreaming. This idea came from the administration probably community development. Gartman's gets its fair share of publicity, remember the Painesville video?

I do agree you must be careful with proclamations.

Council only votes and pays for what they are told too.

Riff Raff? I believe they included themselves in the unwashed of Painesville. Not movers and shakers.

Question; New city engineer is related how to what former city director?

At July 23, 2014 at 6:34 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

She is not related by blood to any old city director. Her mother worked at city hall, as a office worker. So even if she has a mother that worked for the city it does not mean anything. She got the job due to her education and abilities.

Please do not assume incorrectly that I believe Leanne is in someway not qualified and I believe she will do a great job. 6:34 Interesting response? Using the word blood, it would have been nice if her mother was mentioned. What was curious to me was who was in the audience Monday night. So 6:34 please continue... I assume you know who I mean.

Actually I am more concerned with the Operating Engineers this year, what happened? IBEW expired?

As a matter of public records I always believed contracts should be posted on city web site, certainly not hard, but a lot of resistance.
Let residents know what they are paying for.

It's no secret - Sandy and Gary Paine. Is she only related to Mom and not dad? Step-child? Either way, Gary Paine worked for the city in the same job she just got.

5:03 See that wasn't hard. They both can be proud of her accomplishments.
