"SUSPICION" terry stafford

This is off subject but in the end it may concern all Painesville residents.

This flood of 50,000+ children flooding our southern border. Now many blame President Obama, others blame President Reagan, Clinton along with the two Bush's. There's plenty of blame to go around.
One of the biggest problems seems to be how we handle this quickly.
President Bush signed the CHILD PROTECTION ACT OF 2007 that means all these children get a federal hearing that could take years. I believe at the time he had no vision of 50,000 showing up in a year.

One thing is clear they have to be sent back or 50,000 more will come every year. The  people in these Central American countries must see that this policy is not a free pass to get into this country.

This brings up an interesting question. I believe Hispanic parents love their children as much as anybody. What would possess them to send an 8 year old child on this trek? Yes things are pretty bad down there but what mother would think this a better way and why and by who?

Do they believe the  newspaper stories? town leaders, even the drug cartels? Or is someone else they trust telling them it will be alright?

This wave of children seem to be orchestrated but by whom? Immigration zealots?

Who has a large American presence in that part of the world and why hasn't the Obama administration reached out to them to try to explain to the people this isn't going to accomplish anything.

Give this some thought and see if you might come up with the same answer I did.

You hit the nail on the head, there is plenty of blame to go around. Now, what can be done?
This, at least to me, is one of the the most amazing news stories in a long time. I never even knew it was happening until a few weeks ago and by the time we heard about it, the problem was HUGE!
Like you, I just can not fathom sending 6 or 8 or 10 year old children off on a journey like this. Things must be so much worse than we can imagine. However, that should not make it our problem.
What the answer is, I have no idea but I sure hope something is done soon.

Oh tell us, wise one, Term, what is your all-knowing answer to the question...you who did everything in your power to stop and hurt any and all movements against the illegals in this town. What are you so smart about NOW that you know better than anyone else AGAIN? Please enlighten us.

I don't understand how this is happening. Are they driven to the border and dumped? That is child abandonment. After they are left, do they walk across the border? Again, how? If this is a known happening (and it is because the media is filming it all)it should be stopped right then and there. I also heard these kids are full of germs and disease - lice, scabies, etc. One station reported they are flying on the same airplane we do. How do 50,000 some children fly? Who pays for the flight? Where is their passport? Where do they go upon arrival? This country is out of control. I did hear on a report, Obama is going to tighten the borders but this is a total contradiction to his amnesty.

10:18 This could be a perfect time for both parties to work together. Yet I heard a congressman tell a reporter "He doesn't need Congress he can do it with "Executive Orders" What are we exactly paying these people to do?
2:48 Seriously? After listening to conspiracy theories for over three years you expect me to spill the beans on the first day? What's your idea? I would like some of you to propose things that could be accomplished. Where were you when this all started?
5:30 According to the law these children are not illegal immigrants, nor migrants but refugees fleeing for their lives. That's the reason for their status presently. Now I know things are bad in Central America but I can't help but feel someone seems to be manipulated these 50,000 children showing up pretty much all at once. If these children are not sent back the flow will increase and presently this country is fooling itself thinking that we could handle this influx. That said these are children and it was very disheartening to see the behavior exhibited by the protesters in California.

NPR ran a story yesterday that most of these children do not speak Spanish but instead speak a Mayan dialect of which there are hundreds. Many cannot be communicated with. But the older kids are cut loose and given a court date, never showing up. NPR tracked down one 16 year old boy who found his way to Florida where he had relatives and is now busing tables in their restaurant. I don't think many in Congress knew about the problem until the story broke. Many are coming in through Mexico but not Hispanic. They are disappearing into society. The thought of sending a young child on such journey is unimaginable to many of us. As a parent you have to ask; How and why?

They also interview a young woman who came here as child speaking a little known Mayan dialect; she now works as interpreter for the state of Florida in a program to help these kids and get them into English classes. There are more questions than answers.

Today the protests have started and several towns have turned away bus loads of illegal woman and children. Could this be the straw that breaks the camels back and Congress will have to fix immigration? I think this is going to get very ugly very quickly.

I'm confused, they are refugees? Why doesn't that mean they are illegal? If I leave and go to another country, I am not a legal citizen there am I? I do feel sorry for the children and the protestors have every right. Maybe the behavior isn't perfect but I'm glad they can voice their opinion against this. How soon after these kids get here will their parents soon follow? Just like Ramos from Perry only in reverse. "Oh, the poor children seperated from their parents". We can't let that happen so everybody join in. I can see that happening next. Too bad St. Mary school closed, they could have made that a sanctuary dormatory.

12:51 Maybe their behavior isn't perfect? Not even close. These children need a place to stay until their hearing it's a FEDERAL LAW. (Get Congress off their dead rearends and change the law) Same circumstances when the Feds called in Federal troops in the 60's to integrate the Universities in the south. The Feds should have thrown that Bundy character off federal lands a few months ago. They empowered some to kill two policemen and a civilian. With people calling these people Patriots.
It's time the TEA party figures out they can't pick and choose laws and the President better enforce ALL the Laws. "Don't thread on me, either"

Maybe someone can explain this situation to me. Two months ago a Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi accidentally drove into Mexico. He is presently held in a Mexican Prison waiting a hearing. When he drove into Mexico he had three weapons and ammunition in the trunk of his car. This along with serving in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars he is presently being treated for PTSD.
Now my question is he was on a road that took him to the Mexican
border and explained to the Mexican Border Patrol he made a wrong turn. My question is why he didn't pass an American Border Patrol to drive into Mexico?
You people wonder how people are crossing the border well there must be roads into this country without anyone at our border. Why?
No the U.S. government the state department should do everything possible to bring Sgt. Tahmooressi home pronto. And Station Border Patrol agents on that road because if you can drive out of the country you can drive or walk in.

The bigger thing to note from the issue Tahmoorsi is how one of ours is being treated in Mexico compared to how we treat the ones who sneak in from Mexico to our country. Even if he had guns in the car, the illegals we have apprehended have had weapons, drugs, disease, and we still welcome them.

9:30, well said. Americans cannot go into Mexico and get anything but a problem. They don't welcome us in any way, and one has to wonder why this American soldier was not home safe and sound long ago.

Obama and the proponents of giving away our country are even getting away with saying that most Americans want the illegals legalized. This is a bold-faced lie, but it will be true enough soon as more citizens are Hispanic/Latino.

I think there needs to be an online and otherwise petition that Americans can add their names to to tell this lying president that that is not true, and that we want them all out right now. I wonder who the largest anti-amnesty group is, and if they would be willing to start this. If all the groups formed together now to work on petitions, it would give Americans a voice, while we still sort of have one.
