:"WE GOT TO GET OUT OF THIS PLACE" eric burdon

And the place happens to be called Prairie State Energy Campus.

It appears over the Memorial Day Weekend.

There was an explosion at the plant.

Now no official numbers have been released but there is a large size hole in the wall where unit II is located. ( could be caused by burning "mud" that Peabody calls coal.)

I have been told that no one was injured in the explosion and that's something to be thankful for.

Now any sane person (or community) would say enough is enough  let's cut our loses and walkaway. Sorry can't do that with a "take or pay" contract. Soon along with high energy and transmission cost's, levelization fees, we will be getting a bill for the repair work for Unit II. That's how it works in River City folks.

Now if this council as well as this administration STILL doesn't feel the need for an investigation maybe they need to be investigated?

This community has been lead around by the nose for to long. First thing  AMP-OHIO is not your partner the sooner the leaders of Painesville figure this out the better.

Speaking of being lead by the nose...painesville schools posted yet another job for the non-English speaking kids. This one is a teaching position ESL coach whatever that is. Don't forget about all of the aides that are hired -Spanish only. This is a WASTE of money. When will this end. The everyday American are loosing their job because of this nonsense. These kids in school should know how to speak English by now and they chose NOT to. The little ones coming up should be taught this before they can register for kindergarten. Teach them while they are young so they can retain it instead of spending more and more money on someone that doesn't want to learn or even be in this country.

For the department of "We Gotta Get Out of This Place...
Here is yet another posting for PCLS, check out the last line. Painesville Local City School District is hiring a Secretrary/Executive Assistant to the Superintendent. This position supports the Superintendent, coordinates hiring and maintenance of personnel and other clerical duties. The ideal candidate must be able to develop relationships, be a self starter, proficient in office technology and procedures, highly organized and have strong communication skills to deal with the public in person and over the phone. The candidate must satisfy the criminal records, bonding, public notary license and drug free workplace requirements.
Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus.
I know it says a plus, doesn't mean manditory, but this is getting out of hand with this district. As someone said before, TEACH these children English and stop spending taxpayers money.

6:07 The kids speak English but the parents don't. You have to question if it's the schools responsibility to provide a translator?

This reminds me of a story my father told me when he was growing up in Painesville. He got into a habit of skipping grade school and hanging out at different places in town. When he went to school he told his teacher he had to take care of the baby. My father was the youngest of three sons. The teacher had concerns as to my grandmother keeping him home to "watch the baby." In the neighborhood lived Mrs. Dolce who spoke both English and Italian. The teacher, principal, and Mrs. Dolce went over to grandma to explain the situation. Grandma was shocked when they arrived. Mrs. Dolce explained the situation and all grandma said in Italian "he is the baby!' and proceeded to beat my father with the broom in her hand breaking it at least twice. The teacher in later years remarked that if she knew what my father went through she would have never brought the subject up.

Sorry, again by this time I do believe many parents speak English. How many generations exist in Painesville by now? Again, many simply do not want to assimilate here and just reap the benefits.
Did getting hit by a broom really hinder your fathers upbringing?
Though I do not believe in beatings, I feel there is a lot to be said for the saying "Spare the rod, spoil the child".

It's all good the way this country is heading. The way I see it is soon we (the non-Spanish speaking American citizens)will be the minority and then we shall be eligible for all the benefits and freebies we have done without and those in the majority will soon be paying for our needs. Yea!
