Seems I need someone to explain why the government wants to come after me or you?
As governments go ours seems very inept. We can't even agree on a budget.
The government has pretty much control over anything you do. Banking? Credit Cards? you name it the government can follow it. Don't use credit cards for ammo? Well if you buy it from Acme Ammo UPS can track it for them. Here's an idea take $10,000 cash pay for something and wait for a knock on your door.
When I was a kid one football game on Saturday and Sunday, same with baseball. We now have added NCAA or the NFL, yes and MLB and the NBA. your covered . Go down to your man cave and enjoy! Don't like sports? American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, plus many more. Most citizens vote more on these shows then they do for elections in our country. Not interested? Don't worry we'll find something to occupy your time. Don't worry about the man behind the curtain.
This country couldn't even organize a national strike. Fear of that job not being there?

You finally have to realize this "Freedom" you speak of please explain it to me. The Federal, State and even Local government seems to not need a black helicopter to keep track of any of us.
Brings us back to guns and conspiracy's now I have heard everything being discussed on gun control happens to be against the second amendment? People should check what Supreme Court Justice Scalia you can't get more Conservative than him. He can explain what weapons the Constitution grants you to have.
Now comes the silly season. First some leader of a gun group makes the claim on national television that if African-Americans would have had guns maybe slavery would not have happened in our country. My best guess is this man must believe that they were on a Princess Cruise ship when all these ships lost direction and washed up on the east coast of America?
If the President does anything by excutive order he will be impeached. Go for it.
NRA releases a target game one month after the Sandy Hook massacre and some genius at Apple thought it was a good idea to add it as an apps.? I seem to wonder more about Apple then the NRA.
Sorry, No just watched the latest NRA commercial now the President children have somehow been added to the debate. (a note here) I guess they don't realize the Presidents children are prime targets of our enemys.
I guess as I watch all that happened at Sandy Hook was my tipping-point. Many out there seem to believe it didn't happen. Instead of being upset I said a prayer that those people's loved ones don't meet the same ends.

Freedom is just another word for nothing else to lose.
The government knows where you work, what your paid, where you spend your money and on what. They tax you at a rate they decide. They manage everything from your food, working conditions, air quality. You name it and they control it. Yet some of you worry about guns? They probably hope you use them to thin the herd, or kill yourself?
Surprised at the topic of your post. The Ohio Auditor revealed that the Food Service Director from Painesville City was stealing and was found with cash in her office. What happened to your "straight shooter" on the Board? Why did they sneak in a resignation without letting the taxpayers know that on their watch theft was occurring. Can they guarantee that this woman didn't steal during her whole career?
You have also been quiet about the former administrator at Harvey not being charged. There was a lot of discussion about him when things seemed nepharious. But if he resigned because he was helping a student that's just not as interesting, is it?

This is what I used to tell my children when they are growing up: Yes, this a land where you are free. You have many, many freedoms, but you cannot have total freedom in every aspect of the word, because there has to be rules - both legal and moral - in order for us all to live as free as we can, because there are other people in the world, too.
There has to be a federal government. The government has to have certain controls. Our states and cities have to have certain controls, etc.
Now on to the NRA: There seems to be a lot of fools who are in this country, and have themselves so crazy over firearms, that they think they need to arm themselves with automatic weapons against the Federal government. Stupid. They can still have their guns, if they do not have a criminal or mental reason why they cannot, and there are plenty of guns in this nation to protect us against a government that is never going to do that. I mean, it's such a stupid argument that I can't believe anyone is even listening to that anymore. Nobody is taking your guns; it just has to be reasonable, because you are not the only ones living in this nation. You need to conform, to a certain extent, for the good of all in the nation, just like I have to stop at the stop signs, etc. I wish these people would grow up already. It's like dealing with overgrown babies.

You ever wonder why the case against the administrator went cold? This adds another story sweeped under the rug along with many more including alibis, and other deals hardly anyone knows about. Painesville is Peyton Place without the sex for the most part.
Many comments in the News-Herald belive this administrator should be reinstated? innocent people don't rollover that easily. Another deal maybe? Let him teach your kids not ours. I have talked to many who can prove different facts about who knew what and when. I wonder if there will be a need to expose these allegations?
As far as freedom what does that have to do with an assault weapon and a 100 round drum of ammo? Who do you believe is coming after you?
This gun issue will be decided by the American people not President Obama or the NRA the people will decide when enough is enough.
Just wondering: What will be the governing definition of mental illness? And after the government declares the definition of a mental illness which excludes gun ownership, how will they know who has that mental illness? Just wondering. Is there already in place a government agency that has the information and power to declare an individual mentally ill? Or - will they (the government) access mental treatment institutions for lists of patients and their diagnosed condition. How does this work? And if I think my neighbor is whacko can I turn him (or her) in for an evaluation? I know a few people who need a good looking-at. Can I turn them in now and get a head start on this? And if I read this blog and think someone, based upon what they have written, is whacko or violent, you know the type - shouldn’t own anything sharper than a butter knife let alone a gun - can I call the police and turn them in too? But I do believe a ban on automatic weapons is in order. Everyone, including police, should have to reload and cock, reload and cock. Okay, maybe a clip of 8 shots is okay but you still need to cock and pull. Only elite police squads and the military should have a weapon in which you only need to point in the general direction and hold down the trigger to kill a large number of people. And that’s what automatic weapons are designed to do: Kill a large number of people quickly, with your eyes closed.

Geez Term, now I have to go read the Minority Report.Look at it this way: The Sandy Hook school shooter, according to others, had mental health issues. But he didn't own the weapons he used. His mother did. She owned them legally. He took them from her, or from her home where he also lived. Sooo - shouldn't we also consider relatives of the mentally ill when we consider this ban? Should the mother have been allowed to own these weapons when her whacko son lived with her? Should she have been on the 'don't give her a gun' list because her son lived with her? We have data bases on criminals, as we should. We also have open to the public data bases on sexual offender's lists, as we should. But what's next? The mental illness list? Their addresses? Their relatives? The schools they attend?

First why did the mother have an AR-15? Was she a survivalist? If the 1994 assault gun ban of 1994 had not been lifted would she have purchased the weapon? Two other hunting rifles here son left behind. Not enough fire power? What year was it legally purchased? Both President Reagan as well as Bush "41" believed in the ban. What's changed?
Kathy, please explain why that woman or anyone needed that AR-15 assault rifle who in the end was made safer?
I know someone was made richer by the manufacturing and sale of that weapon.

off topic, but does anyone have any information about the car that crashed into a house/garage on Jefferson Tuesday morning? I heard it on the radio but couldn't find anything in the New Herald. Then it was on two tv stations and it is on a couple of the stations web sites. But what it says is that Painesville police refused to give them information. Why would this be? Was it someone high up in city government? A family member of someone "important"? Or was it a beloved illegal. Just curious.
