IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT" rem

Well if I am to to understand the experts on the Mayan calendar the end of the world will be Friday December 21 2012 at 6:11EST.

All this from a calendar that curiously looks like the cookie part of an OREO cookie?

All this from people would oddly disappeared and also were cannibal's. My question is do any of you believe this?
Proof that you do would be that you have already celebrated Christmas. Maybe you haven't started shopping yet? Mayans or not some will procrastinate until Christmas Eve anyway.
I for one will take any and all bets the we will all live  to see Christmas. {I guess it will be hard for me to pay up anyway}.

Then again.
What's your favorite Christmas commercial this year.?
An example the FEDEX commercial where the guy comes in and asks if it's to late to mail a package and then is asked where's his gift? He proceeds to throw some lose pens in a box and seems relieved.

To be honest many of the perfume commercials just go over my head.

I have two Christmas commercials that I hate, and was sorry to see them both back this year. Sorry, can't think of any that I love, so this will have to do.

The first one is "every kiss begins with Kay" (or whatever the company is). Every kiss does not begin with Kay, and it drives me nuts. They could say "Let your kiss begin with Kay, or something else that makes sense, but they don't, so every year that irritates me over and over.

The other one I hate, is the one where the poor guy comes home to be with his parents for Christmas; they show the parents trimming the house perfectly, etc., and then when the guy comes in the front door, and can't wait to see his parents, the parents leave the house without ever acknowledging that he is there because they have to drive their wonderful car and make their own NEW traditions or some such nonsense. They tell themselves that he'll be just fine. I don't know who thought up that dumb commercial, and then who decided they should use it. Maybe they keep using it because it's so bad that it does draw attention to the commericial and to the car they are advertising. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Shocking we are still here! And we wait for the elves in Washington to cobble a plan together saving us from the fiscal cliff. Maybe we can all run down to Cinncy and wish Speaker Boehner happy holidays. Recess? Do your job and get back to the office. How does one choke down the figgy pudding while this country falls apart. Boehner get control of your party. Coal in your stockings Washinton! I guess we will live to vote another day.....

Enjoy watching the chickens more than anything else on TV....... No commercials. And the steelhead are running so you can find me on the river :)

After watching a Republican this morning on Morning Joe. Sandy there's no hope. Boehner might as well stay home. as suggested by our outgoing Congressman. You wonder why he left listen to these Tea Party Republicans and there's your answer. Let it go over the cliff. Let the Defense contractors explain thing, along with the military maybe the AARP as well as Wall St.Then explain to the people why this is a greast idea as peoples 401K's drop like a rock. These people have no sense of the word compromise. Sometimes people have to learn the hard way that not having compromise you have bad consequences. I was going to do another post on the pending cliff, but after listening this morning forget it.

12:35 Yes. Why does this sucessful
son leave his keys in his new Audi?
{maybe he cut the brake line and wants his inheritance a little early?"}
Now Zales commercial with the song "I got nothin' if it wasn't for you" by Various Cruelties. Was a hit for me.
Then again if I hear that song "Home is where you want to be"
The TV might end up outside.

Just for the record Term I agree with you. That tea party congressman was Ted Huelskamp of Kansas. Everyone should listen to his view on the coming cliff along with his gun solution.

Speaking of the end...Rumor has it #2 at the board is in line to be the new super. UGH! I guarantee it will be the Mayan demise of the PCLS district if this happens. It is a KNOWN fact there is displeasure with the principal at HHS. Ask the parents or staff what a great job he has done cleaning the place up yet central can't stand whats going on. Does this make sense? Seriously though...
What can this community do to stop it? Petitions? Remove all the minority students/staff? Protest?
If you thought what's there is bad now, wait till #2 gets there.

I for one believe that the board should be looking for someone from the Southwest part of our counrty. Presently over 30% of our students are Hispanic. I would like to see them hire someone who has had sucess dealing with that issue.
#2 can have all the displeasure with the Principal at HHS. I can't agree with you more. I for one am beginning to see the results.

To all you NRA people out there that believe the answer would be to put an armed policeman in every school. We tried that. Columbine High School had an armed Deputy Sheriff. 13 dead. No assult weapons used.

At December 22, 2012 at 3:40 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Everyone who is advocating for possibly having guns in the schools is not an NRA person. That is one possibility for a solution on MY mind, and I am just a grandmother who does not want my grandchild murdered in school or preschool.

If their armed person had had a surveillance room watching everything that was going on inside and out, with locked doors with cameras and intercom there, too, then maybe the combination would have helped.

They hopefully would have seen it coming, been able to contact the police, alert everyone in the school what was happening and where, and then try to respond themselves.

Also, the police at Columbine had no idea who, what, where, how many, etc., as far as I know, and they all stayed outside, didn't they?...while all the carnage was going on unstopped inside?

If we get guns in the school, the guns are surely not enough. They need manned surveillance systems, too. Just because there was a gun in Columbine, and that didn't work, doesn't mean it is not a good idea. It may just mean that the idea needs to be improved on.

People who are saying no to guns in schools had better be coming up with a better answer--and soon.

And I never heard before of there being anyone armed in Columbine.

3:40 THe school building you just described to me appears to be a prison or at least a fortress. This is the kind of building you want your grandchildren spend 13 years in? Those parents in Newtown thought they had covered the bases in keeping there children safe. The truth. Your never completely safe. What happens when you grandchildren go to a movie? Go to the Mall? Go to Church services?
Those three places have had mass shooting.
I don't know why you never heard of an armed security guard at Columbine? Well he was a Jefferson County Colo. Deputy Sheriff with 15 years of service Neil Gardner. He even shot at one of the attackers.
Sadly I view the NRA as just a lobby group for gun manufacturers. Many of the 4 million members only join to use the range.

If a nut-job wants to do harm, they will find a way to do so.
Do we want our schools to be built prison style? I don't feel the architect of a building will stop someone if they are determined. Nor do I think putting an armed SRO in every building will be a solution either. What's to say a crisis is taking place and the officer would be at the very end of the building.(cant even locate a hall monitor when needed). What would stop someone from coming into the building as the students are coming in? Or sitting in the parking lot? Or a student just coming in? You will Never be able to stop every crisis.

No. 2's standards are low, plays favorites, does not treat employees fairly, does not value discipline, and does not support staff, unless you are one of the chosen few. If No. 2 threatens to leave. . . there are plenty of people who would set high standards, be fair among staff, implement and support discipline actions, and support the people in the trenches.

This is 5:43. No, Term, YOU missed the point -- continuing to say that you want schools to "feel welcoming" is ludicrous at this point. Do you want the people in there dead or alive? Get over it...people are being slaughtered in our schools on a REGULAR BASIS. Get with reality already.

And are you serious -- put a Hispanic in charge of our schools? Hell, just give them the whole damn country, why don't you? Actually - no, I have a better idea. Instead of giving them OUR country, go live in THEIR country, and help them THERE, if you are so worried about them, instead of being concerned for our own children. You know -- THEIR country -- the one they're supposed to BE in.

And your argument that the children and staff at our schools can be gunned down anywhere is ludicrous also. So your point is that since no place is safe in the United States anymore from crazy murderers, we should, therefore, not shore up our schools to try to make sure they are not slaughtered there? Nonsense. Complete nonsense.

At December 24, 2012 at 9:22 AM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

If your right, how can my statement be ludicrous that you, your children can be gunned down anywhere? I see four firefighters were gunned down near Rochester N.Y. Are you telling me firefighters are to be armed also?
As far as the Hispanics. My first concern is that the children get a good education in Painesville. I don't care who provides it. Maybe if you gave it alittle more thought you would understand why your property value is so low. If this city can provide a first-class education for everyone you might see your property rise. Many of the Hispanic children going to our schools are as much American citizen as you are. Deal with it!

Voiceless As a member of the Teamster Union for over 25 years, your union sound pathetic. YOU voted in these people YOU pay your dues. YOU are obvious not getting your money worth. YOU are the only reason why .God I wish I could be your steward. Hal Werner? Really?

At December 24, 2012 at 4:00 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

This is 4:13. Finish reading my paragraph. My point is that you are saying that since no place is guaranteed safe in the U.S. from crazy shooters (a true statement), that we should, therefore, not shore up our schools in every way possible to protect the children and staff. And THAT is what I said was a ludicrous statement. I clearly know that you can be randomly killed anywhere in the U.S. now, but that is certainly no sane reason not to protect our schools in every way possible.

I am friends with the family of one of the children gunned down in Chardon. Ask them if they wished their school was open and welcoming to students and the public, or if they wished that the United States of America as a whole had gotten a grip and realized what the reality is now in our sick-in-the-head country, and had metal detectors and taken every other precaution that was possible to save their son in school.

And I am quite aware of why my property value in Painesville has dropped. Besides from the crash, we have a city full of illegals. Got it. The biggest issue should be to send the illegals home, and have them take their children with them. Aside from that, calling for a Hispanic in charge of the schools to cater to Hispanics would only add to the problem of our country being taken over by them, and I do not agree with your stance on that.

And, yes, I know some of those children are American citizens. Therefore, they need to conform to America, and not the other way around. And we need to change the anchor-baby law as soon as possible to stop that nonsense.

And yes I know that every child being educated in our city (as well as our country) needs a first class education - I never said otherwise.

And yes, if firefighters need to be armed now, then they should be armed. At any rate, let's not wait until there are 50 such shootings before we wake up and protect them, like we have done in our schools.

Maybe you don't have a problem sending the children you know to unprotected schools, but I do.

I am no advocate for the stupid NRA. Ever since Heston made his ridiculous "from my cold, dead hands" speach, I have taken notice and had no respect for those people. ANYONE who cannot recognize what is happening in the U.S., and act on it, gets no respect from me. I just want kids to be safe in school. If you have an argument against that, then I don't want to hear it; I certainly didn't cause this murdering mess in America. If you've got all these murderers running around, then you'd better have protection. So what is your argument: that the gun lobby is taking no responsibility so, therefore, we're not going to do anything to protect the kids? This country is no better than the Middle East now, where people slaughter people at will all the time, and it is escalating. What do you propose to do?...sit around until the NRA takes responsibility? To hell with the NRA. People need to eschew them now, call them the stupid asses that they are, and work around them and in spite of them. It is what it is: our kids are getting slaughtered in school, and it's time we quit screwing around and do something about it. Are there any guarantees? No, but we need to do what we can.

Take them too. I can't stand to hear a parent up for deportation then cry because they have to leave their children. A)Take them too. B) Stop planting them to save yourself. Also noted the "American" born Mexicans want no part of this country. Since they were born here, they should be fluent in English and there would be NO need for English Learning programs and the poor testing scores that keep weighing this district down.

Painesville schools have 30% Hispanic, and it's the people who are worried about that that have the problem? In a couple of years, it will be 50, then 80%. Change??? Americans are sitting on their butts and letting our country be taken over, and people do not see a problem with that? And it's being taken over by people who are tanking this country, not helping this country.

And the posts here against the illegals are written by more than one person. We have laws -- these people do not care about them, but you think they will make good American citizens? Well, soon we will be nothing but an extension of Mexico, thanks to politicians who catered to them for their votes, and Americans who sat on their butts and let it happen. It's not change. Natural, legal immigration is change. This is a takeover, and Americans are not only not fighting it, but like some people here, they are fighting for it, and putting down the people who are trying to stop it. 30%. Wake up. We're already seeing massive problems from it in our own town, but that still is not enough for some people to be alarmed and to try to do something about it. And yes, it will continue because of people like Term and others on this blog who don't mind giving away our country after all who have died over all the years to save her. This is supposed to be American...not Mexico. They come here illegally to bleed us dry, and they do, and they are. I do not get for the life of me anyone who would argue for people to come here illegally and to take from our country. Really? I mean, really? Fight away, people--unfortunately it's my country you are giving away, too...if it was just yours, I would have no problem with it.

Do we need every precaution that we can get in place, in place?...yes, bring on all the laws and restrictions we can think of to help save our innocent citizens - I'm all for that. But even then, we can never guarantee that the guns will not end up in the hands of the wrong people. All we can do is to do everything we can, and protect our children as best we can meanwhile. Maybe we should ask the kids what THEY want. Ask them if they want us to wait for the NRA to suddenly and unexpectedly be sorry and apologize (as if that would protect the kids), or do they want us to lock the damn doors and do whatever else we can to protect them?

-And what is your point with "if the Mexicans hadn't moved here, who would have..." If the illegal Mexicans hadn't moved here, they wouldn't have moved here. Our town had a bad enough reputation and big enough problems BEFORE the illegals. Now my property value is in the toilet, and our town is being taken over by illegals. Too bad you can't have a nice long conversation with our Founding Fathers, and you could ask them why they made laws against illegals coming uninvited and invading our country. And they could tell you what they think about you defending the practice instead of fighting against it. I don't think they gave up what they did in their personal lives, and fought as hard as they did for this country, so that these generations could just sit around and let it be taken over by a neighboring country, and let people be here illegally from any country who feels like it.

-But you'll probably win. More kids will be slaughtered in our schools, and the Mexicans will finish taking over our country. Good for you.

5:13 What is your solution?

1:53 What is your solution?

At December 28, 2012 at 9:11 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

My solutions:
-For safer schools:
Put all the restrictions on guns, ammo, and ammo clips that reasonable Americans think we need. (By reasonable, I mean not the NRA and their defenders.) This would mean things like no sales of guns without a background check. This will be hard to do with private-owner sales and guns shows, but clearly it needs to be figured out. Ban all the rapid-fire guns and ammo clips that reasonable Americans think need to be banned, along with ammo that can pierce bulletproof vests. I'm not an expert on weapons, but there are enough people who are, that can advise our legislature.
All doors locked in the schools with audio and video on those areas. Metal detecting gates for all who enter, including students. Complete camera surveillance for inside and outside, monitored constantly in a surveillance room. Intercom for that person in that room and for all the classrooms and areas, and that person will need to be trained and armed. Each teacher having a key that locks the doors from the inside and the outside with phones in all rooms and areas, also. Have drills for such occurrences, like they do for tornadoes, etc. Give the kids and the teachers as much information that you can on how to protect and save themselves.

For the illegals:
Secure our borders.
Fix the anchor baby amendment to be sure that it means that no one can become an automatic American citizen at birth, unless you have a parent that is an American citizen at the time of your birth. (Common sense, in other words.)
Create better seasonal - for the fields only - termporary worker laws. People can come for one or two years in a row at the most, and any child born here is not an American citizen, unless one of the parents are.
Verification of citizenship in the workplace with the e-verify program that the government has already set up, and to make sure that system is as foolproof as possible, considering the Mexicans' proliferation and fondness of falsified documents. If you don't belong here, you can't work here, and you will have to go home. You got yourself here, you can find your own way out.
If you are not here legally, you get no benefits here.

9:11 Good luck you are either very naive about the NRA. They will fight you til their last breath. NRA doesn't understand reasonable. They are one of the post powerful lobby's in this country.
Since the school shooting sale of guns and ammo has gone through the roof. NRA membership is up about 8,000 a week. I agree with you with concerns on size of the clip amounts, kelvar sales.
First off you must realize your not dealing with a reasonable organization. The answer to any problem is more guns.
On the illegal issue. That train has left the station. Yes securing the borders must be accomplished.

Term 8:25. This is 9:11.

The fact that the NRA's membership is up about 8,000/week - if they are telling the truth about that, is disturbing to say the least. One bright point is that the NRA is complaining that they have not been invited by any government entity to be in on the discussion. That looks a little promising, but the politicians will probably still give them whatever they want for their votes, just as they are giving away our country for the Hispanic votes. But that is why we must secure our schools as carefully as possible. Even if all the laws get into place for gun control that reasonable people want, it will help the situation, but it will never be a guarantee that the guns are not in the hands of the wrong people wanting to do the wrong thing.

As far as the illegals are concerned...it ain't over until it's over. If they win, and they all get amnesty, it will be in large part because of people like you who either didn't fight and/or fought FOR the illegals. Do you think the Founding Fathers would have given up? I don't think so, they would have fought until the end. And if you or anyone else thinks that this will be the end of them, think again. If there is an amnesty, it will be the third one. Each one was supposed to legalize the ones that were here, and keep any more from coming, and put an end to the problem. All it ever does is bring more with the promise of amnesty, and of course, anchor babies, because we have still not even fixed THAT problem.

Yes, we need to secure our borders, but that will never be enough. We need to deter them from coming, and make the ones that are here leave, just as I outlined in my previous post. There will be no end to illegals if we give amnesty. There is an endless supply; it has never worked in the past, and it will not work now. And how stupid is that, anyway? Can we go into Mexico and stay there illegally? No, we cannot. And would they give us free stuff and amnesty? I think not. I had a Mexican tell me after one of the anti-illegal rallies that they were the smart ones. He seems to be right. They're taking over. We're letting them, and saying things like that train has already left the station. We wouldn't even still HAVE a United States of America if previous generations were like us. They made it for us, they have given their lives for us (right up to the present day), but the people at home are sitting on their butts and saying that that train has left the station. There are probably at least 20 million illegal Mexicans here alone, and that doesn't count the people from all the other countries here illegally. (The stupidity of this situation is outlandish.) Once they are legal, they will all be able to bring many, many relatives over. They will have our country. They are already taking us down with their free health care, and taking our jobs, etc. Yes, your side will probably win, but wait until you finish seeing the loss. THEY know they are taking over our country. How could so many Americans not know or not care is beyond me.

I finally found this little note to the comment about Fairport. Fairport Schools are improving faster than any district in Lake County, increasing our Performance Index by 9 points over the past two years. This was published in a newsletter titled Do you know what I know about Fairport Schools.
It's what's inside, not shiny new buildings, that count.
