"SNEAKIN' SALLY THROUGH THE ALLEY" robert palmer

Back to the city of Painesville
I don't know how to start this?
Merry Christmas, but the bill came in? Pay no attention to that Ordinance? It's a short meeting?
Joe, Mike please tell us what "STRANDED" costs mean?

2) Ordinance Amend Approciations for FY 2012

Take the time to read the City Manager Reports on the city web site.

Almost in the middle of this ordinance is this comment.
As directed by City Council, you will see an appropriation in the Electric Utility Reserve Fund to pay the City's portion of the Stranded cost's for the AMPGS project.
Total increased approciation are for all operating costs.

$2,719,038.00   Where have we heard that number before?

I hope Joe and Mike as well as other's on council explain this number?

For over two years people have told me when asking about AMPGS  Some councilmen claimed I am a lunatic, plain nuts, have no knowledge of the numbers I've been talking about. What a coincidence.

Wonder how the vote will go and if anyone takes responsibility?

Plus looking at the end of the year. Am I to believe the city has 38 million dollars in unencumbered funds?

I wonder who much discussion these two ordinances will take up?

These our our tax dollars folks. Please write your council person or attend the council meeting tonight to question the "stranded funds".
Will there be more "stranded funds" when Prairie State comes due? Councilman Hach felt the 2.7 was no big deal as stated at a past council meeting. It is a big deal to many residents.

In the 2012 Budget, I could not find the statement (Almost in the middle of this ordinance is this comment.
As directed by City Council, you will see an appropriation in the Electric Utility Reserve Fund to pay the City's portion of the Stranded cost's for the AMPGS project.) Could you be more specific, to it's location, in the document?

Well that took 10 minutes and I get they are trying to save the city $70,000 in interest.

What I should have asked; How is Joe Hada, the president of council proudly voted for this and took this city down the AMP road and STILL sits as the head of council.

I find this to be an outrage! Where is the rest of council and how in the world can you support Joe Hada as a leader of this city? And why has he not had the decency to step down?

Only in Painesville.........

Yes, we did this as "emergency" legislation to save the resident's of Painesville money?
If we really wanted to save money we would have never been involved in this. 2.1 million to AMP-OHIO where does the other $600,000 go?

John Murphy again tried to bring up residents have only 15 days before they are assest a late charge. The city's answer was that we "only" have 14% on average paying the late fee? 14 out of every 100 customers seem high to me. Are our utility department customer friendly? Wonder if commercial billing ie; Fasson,Core, Airfoil. have a longer time to pay utility bills?

Should the city charter be changed from letting council instead of residents voting for any issue with a cost of 5 million dollars? Could we have avoided some bad deals?

See HANLON has applied to be the super at Columbus burb Westerville schools.

Good luck with that, they are rated some of the best in the state academically. If they want them destroyed, he's your man.

Yes it seems he has applied. Best of Luck to him.

Anyone else think it's strange that we find out more things going on around here from a Columbus paper than our local one?

Let me understand this first they blow 2million+ Now without knowing what the final cost will be they decide to SAVE the city money by paying the standed cost interest will stop being added. Why now? Could have done this 2years ago.

And all they worry about is who wond the Christmas decorations in the city.

So Hanlon " CLAIMED " he was retiring to " SPEND " more time with his family ... a crock of nonsense.

They probably can't stand him either. He's quiting to chase more money elsewhere.

He also applied at Canal Winchester schools near Columbus back in October, he did not even make the final cut of 7. They know a flunky and a failure when they spot one.

Yes, and we still have 2-5 years of litigation to look forward too! And the clean up of the Gorsuch plant and lest we not forget Prairie state...... And that 40 year contract. 2.1 million according to our city treasurer is technically not a cap but it the amount estimated, by AMP to be the top amount we will owe however there is no guarantee. Personally I don't believe anything AMP tells this city.
