A rumor presently circulating around city hall is that city manager Rita McMahon has announced her retirement effective November 1,2012. That presently all that is known.
Expect to see her soon to be employed as a consultant by either Buckingham Doolittle & Burroughs or maybe those Amp electric people she seems so fond of?
I am elated at this news, but am worried that we would have so little time to replace her. I would like to do her resume for her--let's see...treated residents like crap, lied to keep people that would oppose her out of office, made many, many multi-million-dollar mistakes, etc., etc.
I think there is a good chance that 3:31 is correct, and that she will show up at one of the companies that she has--beyond all reason--done many deals with or hired for millions when it made no sense.
I am still hoping for massive investigations into everything that has transpired since she became city manager that seems suspect. I would hope that that would cover any off-shore accounts, if you know what I mean.
Although when she left this town years ago, she ran out on a rail, as I recall, before she was brought back for this position. If she is not hired locally, I think the investigators need to keep a watch on her to see just where she resurfaces and with which compan
I say don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord ...
Term, any word on any other investigations, hopefully by government entities?
Wow, I think some councilman has loose lips and couldn't wait to get this to you so you could leak this out. Is this called a scoop? Or is it just mean? I thinks it's the latter.
Meanwhile back in Galion ... it appears our current city manager was put into office illegally.
Our current city charter requires any city manager to reside in the community .. he does not.
The Ohio Supreme Court has addressed the issue and point blank stated that any elected or appointed official MUST reside in that community if the city charter requires it.
The citizens have asked the state to remove him from office ASAP and to possibbly overturn any and all contracts he has signed the city on to as null and void.
She probably knows she has to get out of Dodge before more questions start flying about AMP, and the rest of the million dollar boondoggles she's "accomplished" for our town. Well, she can always point to her red-sidewalks-on-the-square accomplishment. By the way, how long does red paint last on outside sidewalks?
Therefore you ain't. I posted this after she informed Department Heads this morning She announced her retirement no one chased her out. Hope see enjoys the rest of her life.
So it seems easy to assume the the Amp Ohio deals we're the final straws that broke the camel's back? Maybe if afew others retired this might again be a great place to live.
Well 1 or 2 screw up in a term in office is not too bad, but who pays for them. Some Ideas that can make one shine like taking out Main St., Lake E. hospital, appartments in a flood plain. How about a defunk hotel and of course AMP. There is to be a large housing developement at what cost? How much did it cost so far to redo this wonderfull area of ours to become a collage town so far? We do have a bike path that is better than our streets. Thanks.
1256:The closing of main St. Was Les Nero,as we're the apartments in a flood plane, and the closed hotel. That leaves Amp and mAybe the hospital, although she offered them the world and they refused,so the doctors could get out of imcome tax to save money. Please give her credit for those that she was involved in.
So Sorry, you knew before she announced. Thats a fact and I do believe 6:40 there is a snitch on council. Can't remember which ward though. I think it's the one near Hine Ave. Anyway, I wish the best to Rita and hope she runs into after she's well off the clock & retired so she can let you know how she really feels.
3:24 No I didn't on my Grandchildrens health. That's pretty bold. Now I don't really have anything to prove to you but I will tell you Andy Flock was not the person that told me.PERIOD! She can tell me what she wants on or off the clock. You should wish her well in here retirement. 2:45 Yes, but it was alittle to late. She never realized they might move. Lets look at her legacy? Positives and negatives. Is Painesville better or worse off than it was 15 years ago?
enough of the negavity, Rita is retiring, move on, how is the replacement process going to happen, CM is leaving just before the budget is proposed, Nov 1st, remember folks this is an 80 million dollar budget, who has the intellect to wrap their hands around that, grow up, serious issues face the city, how is council going to face these issues. Council needs to act and I mean fast, these processes take time.
Who is guiding the replacement process? Serious questions with serious consequences. Stop with the past and try to help with a positive future.

Joe Jada for city manager
You hope she enjoys the rest of her life, while I hope she reaps what she sowed here.
Good. I am glad she retired/resigned/leaving.
Now it time for the remainder of the triangle of power to take a bow as well.
Therefore I am,
Maybe Term has a deep throat at city hall that he meets at the city parking garage?

Who cares how you found out? Good riddence she's moved on.
If you think everything will be better now that she is going, you all must be high.
