"ALIVE AND KICKING" simple minds

What you gonna do to make a dream survive?

This Monday council will have to vote on the Steele Mansion. Unless they decide to table the motion.
We should know then if Painesville will have another Inn, what a guest is or isn't I wish the Shamakians good luck and presently I'm getting all indications that the Inn will pass.
Voting on some zoning as well as a discussion on another Columbarium and I see AMP-OHIO is also mentioned in new business. This along with a presentation from the electric department. To bad residents can't ask questions during the presentation. Let's hope someone on council does.
I also have been told our City Manager is on vacation and will not be at this meeting? I was always told the reason for only one meeting in July and August was because that's vacation time?

Can't ask question in a city council meeting....

I thought Galion was the only FIEFDOM in Ohio.

Citizens here ask questions and then get thrown out by the local PD.

Off topic, but needs talked about. The courts have upheld Mentor's rights to inspect rentals to ensure maintenance of rental stock in the city. Since Painesville has one of the highest number of rentals for a city in Lake County why won't our council pass a similar ordinance? To many good friends are landlords?

5:04 We can ask question's during the visitors time or ask to speak pertaining to an ordindance or resolution. Just not during a departmental presentation.
5:28 I see no problem with asking, but do you think this might be taken one step further as an inspect of all homes in the city even privately held homes? What do you think? Would you agree to let the city or anyone else come in and inspect your home?

Would I allow the city to question me about my property? Would I allow them to inspect for illegal persons? YES. I believe in profiling (911) and I also if necessary persons to carry a type of identification that PROVES I am a legal citizen. Un-American? maybe. But until ge get a grip on these problems I think it's a good start.

The City Manager isn't the only one in Painesville who takes a vacation. There are many employees and department persons that vacation in the Summer. Hence the reason for once a month meetings.

To 6:26: I think you are missing the point. If there are once-a-month meetings in the summer, would that not be so the city manager and council can all be there for the one meeting. Does that not mean that they are supposed to plan their vacations around that one meeting? Unless she has a month-long vacation, wouldn't that be the point of only having once-a-month meetings in the summer. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the rest of the department heads.

4:43 When you consider how our city manager has a habit of mico-managing everything in the city it amazes me she went on vacation. How can this city funtion without her?
Once a month in July and August is about all the residents can afford what they want to do.

Got news for you, since she is on a vacation that must mean that everyone can funcion accordingly. There is an assistant, second in command, to follow through as needed. Just as does a President and Vice President. It would be insane to think that every employee that needs to attend the council meetings must plan their vacations around those dates. I don't believe that is how it's done and for that reason.

AnnOn, If what you say is true then why only one meeting in July and August?
No city business to worry about?
She's the one that micro-manages watch her at a council meeting.
Most empolyees can do their jobs without her. That's a positive thing.
Watch how long the meetings are in July and August and in the last three years they had to schedule atleast one special meeting.

7:08: Nobody said that EVERY employee must schedule their vacation around the council meeting dates. I'm assuming it would just be the city manager and council members, as I stated.

Well when you assume you know what that means. If you're so concerned about it, why not ask at city hall. You always make a big to do over nothing.

AnnON Assume to know what that means?
I want answers to questions I have sent my request and was denied. Fine Maybe the city needs the State Attorney General to find out what questions need to be answered?
Maybe the city manager is out learning how a Queen is to act?

If there is any chance that the State Attorney General can get in here and investigate ANYTHING, let alone EVERYTHING since McMahon got here, then I hope we can get that to happen.

Everytime she leaves, I always wonder if she takes the books with her. I'd be afraid to leave them behind if I were her.

ANY investigation as to what has, and is, going on in this city, would be a very welcome development.

Why on earth should the Attorney General come here? What are you saying is going on here? I'm not following what is being implied. If I remember the city had a clean audit if that is what you are hinting at. So no reason for the AG to be here, right? Kind of like the schools, they had a clean audit too.

At May 28, 2012 at 8:24 AM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

What the Ohio Attorney General should do is a forensic audit on our city. Watch the screaming then.
Clean Audit? What do you think that implies?
A man makes $500.00 dollars aweek he spends $300.00 at a bar. $50.00 gambling then give my wife $150.00 to run the household? Those figures are all true and he would receive a clean audit. but how do you run your household?
When you have a budget that tells you there are 19 million dollars in "others", I want an explaination?
I know of other cities where the city manager would show a pie graph with million's unanswered and that council would show them the door!
When the city gets involved in "take or pay" electric deals the residents should demand answers. Who and why were these contracts pushed?
$300,000 in payments on something that presently isn't generating squat and another $2 million plus out there that we owe and the bill will come due we need answers.
Prairie State Energy Campus was 100% owned by Peabody Energy in 2007, They built it the run it and presently own 5% of the plant? Something smells and it ain't smoke.
Live in Bliss. I know of banks that won't give loans in Painesville because we are considered "blighted"?
Enjoy!

To bad there is no proof of foul play. So all we have is your babble about nothing.

Thank you anonymous 5-28 4:01.
Who died and why would they need forensics? So you are saying there are millions unaccounted for in a pie chart? Which cities specifically use these charts showing every dollar to the penny spent. Impossible. Since you continually question the budget, why don't you make an appointment and go over it line by line for your satisfaction. Nothing is ever going to change Terminator's mindset. It's STUCK. Since he refuses to run for council to better this city to his standards the next best thing to get unstuck is to move to another city and complain to others ears. Blighted? Where does this come from? What banks refused this town and considered it blighted? Again, I'd like to know those specific banks. It's unfair to the residents to make such statements then not give the details with them.

I have looked over the budget and let me let you in on a secret. In business this amount of "other" would bring an IRS audit in a heartbeat. The problem is waste, I just pointed out over 3 million dollars , I guess that's not enough to arouse any curiousity?
The "blightest" community came from a well known area bank. I bet a dollar you can figure it out?
AnnOn your watching to much CSI wherever. look up the word forensic, arguable, controversial, debatable just to name afew.
I'm STUCK? My question is where is this present administration taking our city?
Sorry as I have mentioned many times me running for council no desire and this town need more then me.
You complain about me leaving out details? Look at details this administration leaves out. How many council people knew we were sending AMP-OHIO $100,000 for what?

There just one problem with AnnOn's comment? Why is she so worried about you? Term, you must be on to something for her to want to get rid of you and your questions. Keep it up.

I don't give 2-hoots about Term.
I do care that a lot of things on this site are incorrect. Misinformation, not publishing all the facts or just plain wrong is not fair to the public. Heck, names have even been wrong; if one can't get something as simple as that? Then one should not criticize the city for hiding things when it happens here too. That's the pot calling the kettle black.

AnnOn Please feel free to point out all the misinformation along with missing facts. I never claimed to be perfect but feel free to correct me anytime.Looking for facts.

AnnOn doesn't give 2-hoots about Term? You asked him to leave town. Please help us find the truth of what's going on here. Or as I suspect YOU AnnOn are part of the problem maybe even one of them?
