"TOWN WITHOUT PITY'" gene pitney

Really, nothing to speak about in legislation at last night’s council meeting.

The Chicken ordinance died on the chopping block. This was an issue that came up that just did not have to be.

Council (as well as most people) still can't seem to get a handle on just what and what not can be in your driveway.

City Manager reissued some loans. I was hoping one councilperson would have asked her what all this re-issuing was costing the city in interest.

Are council meetings lasting too late into the night? Long council meetings were never the norm until a Council President decided that Departmental Presentations" should be given during council meetings. Long meetings always seemed to happen in July and August when there was only one meeting a month.

In the visitor time, a resident who lived in Heisley Park said he bought a home there to have a more peaceful life. His statement to council would not be a good recommendation to anyone thinking about moving to town.

I mentioned that the city should inform residents about the epidemic of breaking and entering that has plagued Painesville the last couple of months. The police are doing as well as they can but maybe residents can keep an eye on their neighborhoods and take steps to not making their homes look as an easy target.

So in short, you can have as many chickens as you want as long as they are not a nuisance. I do not know if you can park that truck in your driveway or not nor do I know what these loans cost the city, and how many sump pumps will burn out before people just give up.

Yes, I agree, we should be told about the break-ins. We only know because of a neighbor who has kept us informed. We live on the north end and we are very nervous. It really pisses me off to think that while we are at WORK all day EARNING the things we have, some low-life could be casing our home planning to steal what we've worked for.

I find some of the human residents around here to be way more of a nuisance than chickens could ever be.

We have three, count 'em, THREE sump pumps and they have been getting a real workout. We have spent tens of thousands of dollars on waterproofing and drainage and we will NEVER get that money back. I doubt we could sell our house if we tried. Maybe we fixed our yard but we're definitely "underwater" on our mortgage.

Why are there no reports in the News-Herald about all these breakins? Who doesn't release the police reports?
I think we all know the answer to that one.
As far as meetings the Prez wishes none of you visitors ever show up.

I was in CVS last night when police responded to a theft from store. Apparently one man was at counter asking about cigarettes while second carried out case of beer while cashier was occupied, thay caught it on tape. Employee said recently that someone stepped behind counter and stole cigarettes.

The former police chief used to give weekly police activity from Painesville to the Tribune. Why doesn't the current police chief do this?

The simple explanation about the break ins... The same juveniles are responsible. The police keep catching them and the juvenile court keeps letting them out. Apparently Lawson doesn't hold the security of our homes in high regard because these boys have been arrested over and over and are committing more break ins after being let out just days before for the same offense!!

Anybody else look at the breakdown of their property taxes last week?
Very little goes to the city but over half goes to the schools.
We do not get what we pay for!

Regarding the supposed sniper situation: someone's rear car window shattered due to cold temperatures. This happens quite often believe it or not.

It has already been checked out by LCSO and THERE IS NO SNIPER. Can we all stop spreading the rumor now?

I mentioned that the city should inform residents about the epidemic of breaking and entering that has plagued Painesville the last couple of months. What and where are these breakins at? In your mind?
Where are your facts, your proof and your numbers for all of this drama you stir up?

Ask the Presidents such as Kennedy and Clinton. Once a Democrat is elected, he is issued a get out of jail free card. To bad they seem useless for Illinois governors and Cleveland politicians.

TO Anonymous 8:02 PM~ I hope this is not news to you now. This has been happening for years. I wish the schools had the go-to to annex the school district once the city has annexed the land. WHy don't they? I don't think they would be hurting as bad as they are now if they did.

For Anon's 1/19 7:58P & 1/22 5:23P
You think others don't tell the truth about break-ins that have happened and had a witness????

The Not Herald - News does not print because the Queen has a deal with them.

Don't negate reports on this blog because they are true and not false. Several months ago there was a forced break-in in a council members house and at the same time another attempt in a house 2 doors down.
Most recently there was a break-in at a home where the resident was inside. This one very large and wide intruder forced his way in and totally destroyed the door framing to get in. He went into the kitchen area. The resident immediately was on with 911. This idiot left. As six cars were there with the canine outside and one officer in this house; another call came over his radio about a witnessed break-in 3 doors down (same side of the street) at a vacant house. Our house is 2 doors from the original break and do the math from the second witnessed break.
These were not Juvenile: "Oh lets just do this because this is cool."
As far as any juveniles you speak of and Karen Lawson: Shame on Her!!! Karen, are you trying to compete with the dumb stuff of Judge C???
Commit any crimes and you let them go? No No and NO - As they all commit the same over and over again. Karen you know the stats and the studies on juvenile crime and it has been proven that it all goes to Adult Crime.
So, the two of you as ANON, study more about the subject and stop accusing us who report the actual/visual truth.
