'CHOICES" george jones

Well it seems most, if not all, of the people seeking a ward council seat have thrown their rspective hats into the ring. I know a good number of these people and it will be interesting to see how they are seen by the wards that they want to represent.
I have already talked to Derrick Abney about securing a school to have two "Meet the Candidate nights". All incumbents, as well as challengers, will be officially invited to these meetings at least two weeks in advance.
Ward I......Andrew Flock*
......Christine Shoop
Ward II.....Hal Werner*
.....Kathy Jenkins
Ward III....Richard Tibbits
....Michael DeLeone
Ward IV.....Paul Hach II *
.....John Murphy
* means incumbent

The coming weekend will be Painesville's "Party in the Park". I'm sure a lot of candidates will want to speak to you.

Sorry, but on this post only positve comments about the candidates..... Unless you're willing to leave a name.

question for all in this round of elections. why is painesville a great place to live because:________________ (fill in the blank)

Do the services in Painesville improve the quality of life and thus provide a selling point to attract new residents or business?

How many people in Painesville spend time in Painesville, outside of their home?

What could you tell someone looking for a place to live, shop, or hang out about Painesville?

Hi there, I just came upon your blog today and love it! This has nothing to do with your post, but have you noticed all the yellow lid recycable garbage cans just sitting for weeks on end in yards? It is driving me nuts! Apparently people didn't read the directions that it is only picked up every other week. So now, when they put their garbage out on whatever day and no one comes to empty the yellow lid can residents are just leaving them sitting there all week until next pick up.

While the idea of home recycable pick up is a great one, I see disaster written all over this one.

There will be a campaign fundraiser spaghetti dinner for Katie Jenkins at Jackie's Sports Bar & Grille on August 27th. All are welcome, even if you don't live in Ward II.

Just what we need, one more drunk CP

8:17 - Are you saying that any event/gathering held at a place that sells liquor is going to be a drunk fest? I find it hard to believe that your scrutiny would be the same if it was held at Bistro 70, Chesters, or even some chain restaurant like Applebee's. And yet each of those establishments sell beer and liquor. Jackie's sells food - stop being a negative nancy. Or is it just that you have a hard time being around alcohol without getting drunk?

Anonymous 4:40, thank you for saying it with more tact than I would have!

For what it's worth, I drank Coca-Cola the last two times I was in Jackie's.

Also, I thought there was a rule about "only positive comments" on this post, Term?

Your right Adam . The post mentioned candidates. I guess 8:17 shouldn't have been posted. Then look at the response.

So what about
Drunk fest - punch bar ?

Not positive enough for you ?

Or do you just like the power of
censoring the things you don't like ?

The stuff shouldn't have been posted without a name associated with it, that is the point. I leave my name no matter what I post, positive or not.

In the upcoming weeks, you will be seeing campaign literature with SLOGANS for the council election in WARD 4. PAUL HACH has, "WORKING TO MAKE PAINESVILLE A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE." he would have to be the one, to explain what he has done in the past 8 years on council to accomplish this. As for me and my campaign slogan "TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE" let me explain one important example, Council should adopt a S.O.P.[standard operating procedure] for council meetings. Each member of council should participate EQUALLY at the meetings on action before them. The 7 council members, should not let the same 2 or 3 members control all actions of council. SPREAD THE RESPONSIABILITY OF COUNCIL MEMBERS EVENLY. what do you think? JOHN MURPHY candidate for the residents of WARD 4.

LAKE EAST HOSPITAL was thinking of expanding in our city,in the year of 2003. Houses were being purchased on east south street, for room for expansion. 3 members of council was present at meetings being held every 2 months, with hospital personnel according to GARY ROBERTSON lake east hospital representive at that time. this is a quote from a concerned citizen meeting, which he attended. The results of all these ongoing meetings, have left the residents without a medical facility in the city, "This is not good". PAUL HACH was elected to council in 2003. I will report you decide. future reports upcoming. JOHN MURPHY ward 4.
