"ALICE IN WONDERLAND" avril lavigne

I guess the Queen won the first round of this land acquisition. I see the Bear making his move soon.... as soon as he gets out of the animal hospital [bad leg, knee] probably from kicking some poor animal or something hard like a bench?
The Queen's micro-management skills were in full force Monday. 2.3 million jars of honey... and it took three representatives from her court plus the Queen herself to be at the proceedings. I counted close to 400,000 jars a year in wages to make sure that no one got lost between the golden dome and the county courthouse. Next thing you know.. all court representatives will need GPS in their cars to go 50 yards. Think things are a little top heavy?
Honestly, I'm glad the rabbits will get some honey for their flooded burrows. I see it's starting to sink in around the kingdom that the Bear didn't drop the ball... but mortgage companies, condo associations, and probably a few banks did drop the ball. Yet no one has been held accountable? Sorta like the AMP-OHIO deal uh?
I can only hope that no one believes this rescue was done out of the goodness of someones heart, or that there will be a "traditional" park in that area. Please don't plan a picnic there, or expect a water park or even a park bench.
How many students and dollars did Painesville City Schools lose over this acquisition? How many city tax and income tax dollars did the city also lose?
Great job Queen!
Was it a mistake to build down there? Well, if it was...then why were they purchased by the rabbits in the first place?
We must all watch and learn the Queen's plan for this "Park" and at the same time she had better watch out for a Bear staking out his territory. It's probably a good thing that it isn't going to be a public park or available for the "river walk" because it will be just about impossible to get past the Bear to get there anyway.
I see more and more Sharks in the mix for everyone concerned. Maybe they will just make it "Fred Flintstone's Memorial Garden" because it's going to revert back to the time before rabbits lived there.
Wonder who will be the Cheshire Cat?

The Bear did drop the ball, and he should be held accountable?
It was a mistake to build down there, but he built them anyway so he could rent them out and make money, then he got an ideal to cover his butt and get out before something big happend, he remodled the units and offered them at a low price and they sold, if the rabbits had an ideal the floods would come they would not have moved there.
Sorry about his leg, hope it did not hurt too bad.......

And with a big thing like the sale, I'm glad the city was there in full force...

They were there in full force with your money. The people that failed to properly insure the area should have been there in shackles!
2.3 million for something worth $195,000? They should have been in hiding.

Where was the Queen and the rest of her friends when I lost over $15,000 in the flood of 2006? How does the Queen pick and chose? I think theres more to the story then we're being told.

And what about all those other homes and apartments down there that remain occupied on that very same flood zone? If it was such a horrible place to build then they would be gone too. And if the city didn't want to make a slick financial deal with the state, those under-insured Millstone residents would have been left on their own. Gibbs is (other than the size of his wallet) just a small part of the equation here.

If Gibbs made a mistake building down there...so did a whole bunch of other people.

She only purchased the land that was to her benefit. Let the others learn to swim must be her reasoning.
Term is now the Mad
Hatter?

I have been confused about this Millstone deal from the very start. Thanks to this blog many things have been explained. No insurance. interest deals between the state and the city. I can't wait for city residents to enjoy their new park, or will they?

Geez, so much whining! FEMA made grant money available for areas that could meet certain requirements.

That area met those requirements and our city went after the grant, and was awarded it.

I am glad that our city at least goes after all the money we can get from the federal government in the form of grants. Sure, I didn't get any, but at least people in Painesville got it and not someone somewhere in Iowa.

The 195,000 is what it is worth now, the grant stipulated that it had to be used to pay the pre flood value so all owners would be compensated.

UN-REAL.

Why must you always be so negative? There will be a park and everyone in Painesville will benefit from it. Get a life!

I'm happy with this.. You peasants are no match for the queen. That's why she is royalty. Go ahead waste money on lawyers who suck you for money Gibbs. Do something worth while and un-skunk 84 before you worry about what goes on next to the river. How's your leg? Karma

Hey Term, do you know what the hell they are doing with the red paint in the cross walks ?

What a waste of money.

7:43 Streetscapes! My friend I guess they want to make it look like a red brick crosswalk? It would be interested to see what the cost of this little foray into beautification has cost us. If we could just paint over all of Painesville.
To many in Painesville still believe this is the path to success.

Hey 5:06...how is everyone from P'ville going to benefit from this 'park'? Did you miss the fact that there will be no benches, paths, etc. Also no tax revenue. We might be getting the one-time interest forgiveness for the loan from the state of Ohio....but after that...nada, zip, nothing.

I wonder how many potholes could have been filled in with the amount of money we spent on red paint.

Does anyone know what has gone into the old Casement Golf Course Clubhouse? I saw an "OPEN" sign on one night but couldn't figure out what it was open for. I didn't see any sign with a name or anything. Just curious.

Sidley's owns the Casement club and on Fridays and sometimes Sat. they are open for a bowl of chili or whatever the dish of the night is and drinks. It's kind of like a nice private club. I think Sidley's wanted to keep the liquor license. If you stop in don't be surprised to have a drink with some of Lake County's finest citizens hanging out.

I will see Term at the Sidley's bar? next meeting place?

Thank you, 6:15am. Can anyone just stop in or do you need to have a membership? What are the hours?

no membership needed, if the sign is on you're welcome to stop...... in the winter it's really nice. It's pretty hit and miss; sometimes they are open, sometimes, not. Pretty loose and I can appreciate that...........
