Hope you guys don't get to excited.Rita last year did something called a streetscape? Now look at the conditions of our streets. Maybe this year she will do a waterscape? She seems to have many problems when it comes to water.

Thank goodness we are supporting Painesville businesses!

I think it's great we are supporting a local business! We should have a list of the places that want the POC to meet there and rotate!

Unlike Councilman Werner who would rather run them out of town......

The back room of Chester's is away from the bar and they do offer coffee, tea and soft drinks.

What's with the council meetings? The past couple last maybe a hour and end? The city site hasn't even put the new one up why?
You have a city that fails to provide its residents the opportunity to inform residents. Maybe something or someone else is behind this failure?

Who are the officers of the POC? I'm considering trying to attend the next meeting at Chesters.

Officer's have not been elected yet.
Please attend and throw your hat into the ring.

Get drunk and vote for the best man,to run the POC, like Term.

6:06 It will be wise to take the POC seriously, we're in this to be able to explain issues to the community. The people involved believe its time the administration heard our voices.

No One with a brain takes you and your group of troublemakers seriously. It's all a big joke with everyone else.

12:54 It begs the question ...Why are you reading the blog. ?
Your right about one thing the troublemakers are serious.

Hey 12:54: Some of us troubemakers got rid of Horvath not so long ago. I don't think he was laughing. Stay tuned.

To FYI...maybe you should re-think your position and start taking the POC seriously....at least they put their money where their collective mouths are and got officially organized. They're also researching issues that have some importance to each and every citizen of P'ville. I find it sad that we even need such a group... but I'm sure glad they're willing and able to watch out for and inform residents.

TO POST 12;54 FYI. the P.O.C is very much needed for us in painesvile, IF YOU WOULD HAVE ATTENDED the council workshop with the 5 council members present you would understand WHY WE NEED A P.O.C. ATTEND THEIR NEXT MEETING. concerned.

To 6:03, here is why a lot of people don't take the POC seriously. They only research the facts that support the way they want an issue to be settled, they are not neutral, it is very apparent they are not neutral so the information they spew forth is just as questionable as some that comes from city people.

When that group finally realizes how to post facts from both sides of an issue is when I will pay attention to them. Right now all they post is "here is how I want it" and the facts that support my side.

The only one who got rid of Horvath was Hal, and haveing the POC at Chesters is a joke

At May 10, 2011 at 10:45 AM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

9:58 When will the administrations of the city and schools start showing both sides? If there are two groups that have the "here's how I want it " additude its them.
That said it's good to know you don't take those two seriously either, right?
10:00 Sit at home and figure out the solutions then post them.
Also ask Horvath how many votes the "letter" cost him/

At May 10, 2011 at 12:43 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

This is 9:58, and your right term, I take what the city, schools and POC say with a grain of salt because they all just present one side and never facts for both sides of an issue and then let each of us decide.

As far as I'm concerned all three act like a PAC.

Maybe instead of getting so defensive your POC should listen and learn how to get some of us on your side.

At May 10, 2011 at 1:06 PM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

9:58 You are your views I can guarantee will be listened to and respected at a POC meeting. I guess I'm defensive because as you state we should listen and learn. So join us we're open for all opinions.

To 10:00: Hal had a lot of help getting Horvath out of office. Not everyone on this site helped, but some of us did. I personally am not happy with Hal being in office. He is not who he portrayed himself to be. Having said that, though, it was still a very good thing to get Horvath out. When we get someone better to run, we can now get rid of Hal.

Yes, you troublemakers got rid of Mr. Horvath. Was it worth it? Did you do better or worse. I would rather a few Horvaths to some of the people we have. Sometimes change is not always for the better.
Well said to May 10,9:58. You are right, if it doesn't go their way LookOut cuz everyone is wrong and knows nothing. They are a very closed-minded group of people.

5:46 Yes it was.

At May 11, 2011 at 1:46 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

5:46: You can't blame anyone on this site for anyone being in office except Werner, and he fooled a lot of people to get them to help him. Having said that, it was still a fantastic and important feat to get Horvath out. Now we just have to get the rest of them out. I have never been a Flock supporter, to say the least, but right now, he's the only one that I would leave in office. I think he is finally doing his job, and I appreciate it. To be sure, I want to say one more time that, yes, it was worth it to get Horvath out of office. Definitely worth it. That was an important -- very important -- step for this city, and I really cannot stress that enough.

You "claim" you write the truth?
I recently found out the meeting about the flooding thet will take place at Chestnut school is not baing sponsored by the city. You posted this meeting but left out that small detail or truth and spun it to your best interest not the residents.
You wonder why not many take stock in what you say?

At May 11, 2011 at 6:02 PM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

3:29 Where did I claim the meeting was sponsored by the city?
Although 4 council members the city manager, asst.city manager public works director and approximately 40 residents attended..... we missed you.
This meeting was proposed by people in the Cedarbrook area and many thanks to Don Ware for putting it all together. A community meeting.
Sorry if you think I misled you. The "Domers" got an earful from residents that have waited long enough for this to be addressed

Just to refresh your memory .... City council will be informed and the administration to hear your concerns about storm water and what the city plans to do about it. Remember if they don't know about it they can't fix it.I'm sorry you misunderstood who was sponsoring the meeting....

At May 11, 2011 at 6:29 PM , Anonymous REW said...

To 3:29....who cares who sponsored the meeting? The fact that residents got together to be heard and all the above mentioned city representatives showed up to listen is the real story here. And I re-read Term's post and don't see how you got 'city sponsorship' out of it. You are finding fault where there is none...did you even attend?

FYI Your the problem with what goes on in this city, not Term. Soon you will be rambling about the $10 fee on your water bill? Why,how did this happen?

The most enduring question of the night was where is our councilman? As one as someone who has lived in ward 3 for over 25 years, if he won't answer his phone or your e-mails what in Gods name makes you think he has any concerns over this meeting. Fountains only purpose is a vote for the way Hada wants things.

Attended last nights meeting. I really don't care where the water and sewage is coming from get it out of my house! More useless information did I really need to know Joe Hada was a cub scout? Get that merit badge by fixin this mess Joe.

I miss Wild Bill he was a strait shooter. He never denied signing that letter and he apologized for his mistake. Now we have Crazy Hal. I've never heard anyone talk so much and say so little as Hal Werner.

At May 14, 2011 at 12:41 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Horvath (Wild Bill) was a straight shooter? That letter was quietly sent by him, on behalf of all the citizens of Painesville, without any of us having any knowledge that he was telling the "Powers That Be" that we in Painesville loved our illegals and wanted nothing done to encumber them in any way. When we accidentally found out about the letter, he denied everything about it, until Veronica Dahlberg (representative for the illegals here) finally acknowledged that SHE penned the letter. Until then, he said over and over that HE penned the letter. He also loved to abuse the citizens and he proudly acknowledged that he would sic Gurley on the residents to abuse them FOR him when necessary. He's one of the main reasons our city is being overtaken by illegals, and is going to hell in just about every way possible. He was right there by McMahon's side during all her huge money-losing ventures and always backed her every step of the way. I agree with you about Hal, but sure hope you were kidding about Horvath.

When you vote for a politician to represent you, thats what you get. Thats what they all do.
Mr. Horvath wrote a letter and later apologized for it. When are you going to stop crucifying him for it, it's over.

At May 15, 2011 at 6:01 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

To Support....Well...let's see...if you don't remember and understand your history then you are doomed to repeat it. So let's NOT FORGET Horvath's letter or his part in purchasing the lagoon that is unofficially named after him (to the tune of $250,000) just to name a few errors from the recent past. Those kinds of mistakes are costly. And since the present administration hasn't substantially changed since then.. Term (and anyone else that is tired of this kind of representation) should remind people periodically so they don't happen again.

At May 15, 2011 at 7:03 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Horvath's apology was only because he was caught red handed. He did what he did and he would do it again if he could get away with it. So let's not forget that.

At May 15, 2011 at 12:26 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

What was the most telling about the whole Horvath/letter thing was that he did it on sly and then lied and lied and lied about it when he was found out. He also proudly acknowledged at a candidates meeting that he had Gurley (law director) abuse the citizens for him when confronted about it, and he laughed about it. I could go on and on about Horvath, and 6:01 has pointed out more things. If these things are not brought up every time someone mentions how great he was, or why don't we vote for him again, then he may end up back on council. Our city has had its fill of him, and so have the citizens. Really.

At May 15, 2011 at 6:47 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Let's not forget that because of the actions of council at the time, including Horvath's letter, our city was dubbed a "Sanctuary City" by the Latinos (and probably people from every other country that are here in the U.S. illegally, or want/wanted to come here illegally. There was/is even a song about Painesville, Ohio that circulates in the Latino communities here in the U.S., etc. telling people to come here because they will be accepted and left alone here. I believe the city finally said officially that this is not a Sanctuary City (someone can correct me if I am wrong), but it is too late. On top of that, every illegal person here tells everyone they know to come, and they tell everyone they know, and so on and so on.

I would like to hear Horvath and the rest of council explain just why he/they did that. Who did they do it for? What did they want to get out of it? What DID they get out of it? Because of him/them our city is turning into a Latino city, and I would really like to know what was in it for him/them.

And we have council president pulling the same tactics Mr Horvath pulled and yet he still sits at the head of the council table. Whynhe has not be exposed is a mystery to me.
