"CRYING" roy orbison

Well I see Congress has managed to pass the second half of President Obama Stimulus Bill.[This is called brainwashing] 900 Billion this time, start the printing presses and ask those people in the Far East if we can borrow some more cash. This is how we run a country? Republicans claim they snookered the President, Democrats tell us they saved the middle class. Truth be told the American people were taken to the cleaners.
Anyone who in their wildest dreams believes any of this will work has got to be out of their minds. Keep tax breaks for people making up to a million dollars along with unemployment insurances being extended for those without a job I can understand. Lowering estate taxes, and worrying about the people making over a million dollars a year, along with the deduction in our Social Security taxes?
People we have debt in the trillions, there is no magic solution.
We talk about America's greatest generation. You know what made them great? The sacrificed, it's that simple. The Baby Boomers along with every generation that followed them don't want to sacrifice anything period. We are living in a make believe world where politics are viewed as a sporting event. Lets argue what the word compromise means? Lets label people Conservatives or Liberals, lets put 200 million dollar a day lies out there, first call our President a Radical Christian than a Muslim? All these things do not do one thing to improve our quality of life.
Have some former candidate tell Democrats to "man up" and watch as their leadership cry at the drop of a hat, go figure.
Yes we even have to watch as a member of Congress get censored because he didn't know he had to report rental income on his taxes? Can he be that stupid and still tell us that with a straight face? We have a President that appoints a Treasury Secretary who fudges on his taxes.
President Obama's major fault? inexperience, along with to many people believing this man could walk on water and solve every problem.
Now a survey comes out concerning this "Tea Party" movement. 90% want smaller government yet less than half want any programs cut or taxes raised?

On the local front lets cut night and Saturday bus service but give everyone a raise, we have to be considerate to our government employees?

Heading down this road we all won't have any income to worry about getting a tax break on.

Washington double standard? John Boehner can cry like a two year old at the drop of a hat, can only imagine if Nancy Pelosi would be called if she teared up everytime SHE got emotional?

Tea Party? Teapublicans what a fraud this bunch is. There only goal is to see the President fail. Can you imagine if Obama took us to war over WMD's and what do you think they would have done to him if none were found?
This bunch will end up like a shooting star.

The reason John Boehner crys when he enters a classroom with children in it? He know how he and his party have stolen their future. In honesty the otherside has done the same. I give him a year before we have a new speaker of the house.
Crying?

The reason the Democrats had to raise the deficit is because the Republicans crashed and burned our country and the D's had to save it. Our whole country almost crumbled, and the D's brilliantly saved it. Got us into a hell of a deficit, but it was either that or a Depression. If they would have let the banks go under, for example, we could not have a viable country.

Anyway, just wanted to point out that the only reason the D's did what they did was because the R's almost took our whole country down, and the D's didn't have a choice. It was really an amazing save, but now we have this deficit, and the Tea Party fools put the same people back in power who are to blame for this mess, and who just gave tax breaks to the wealthiest of Americans during this scary time. The Republicans' trickle-down economics never did work - it's just a ruse for giving tax breaks to themselves and the other rich. I'm all for not over-taxing anyone, including the rich, but let's not get dumb about it. Even a lot of the rich were telling them to go ahead and raise their rates a little. I think the cut-off should be higher - 500,000 or so, but now we have the R's back who did this to America and Americans. Way to go, Tea Party. Maybe from now on, quit your screaming about things that are not so, and do a little research. Listened to all the Republican lies, and now see what you have done.

Why aren't they screaming about the illegal problem now? That's one thing they could do for this country that would be GOOD and not stupid. Stupid people doing stupid things.

Again, you are allowed your views but lets examine the facts. The Democrats didn't save the country, the American taxpayer took it on the chin from both parties, along with paying the freight.
Sometimes I think politicans forget theres something called video tape and many of the same people that told us if TARP wasn't passed the country's economy would collapse within days. Six months later the same people are telling us a different story.
The difference between the two parties is basic, the Republicans are better organized and Democrats love to fight even among themselves.
There was never anything close to a "death panel" in the Healthcare Bill but they knew how to sell it.
Agenda's are not lies. It's what you believe in.
How some citizens in this country can think that healthcare should be a privilege and not a basic right is beyond me.
Along with at the same time anyone who can crawl under a fence has the same right's as you or I do in this country?
If theres any organization on earth that can make gay right work it the American Military.
The START Treaty should be ratified. Some issues this country faces can't just be used as a mailer for election contributions.
Until the day people take back control of their government we will be viewed as spoiled children to most of the world.
Sadly we can't live on our reputation forever.
God Bless America.

Term 2:26: I disagree with some of what you said. The gutsy and politically incorrect moves that the Democrats made did indeed save this country. Did the taxpayers take it on the chin? Yes, but that's because the Democrats had to save the country because of what the R's did to it. And if the TARP hadn't been used, we would not have a viable country today.

You talk about the R's lying about death panels in the new healthcare law, and then say that agendas are not lies. I very rarely hear the R's telling the truth, but yet the Tea Party followed them blindly. The D's are fighting amongst themselves this one time because they had to partially sell out to the R's to get this last bill passed. I wouldn't say that that is a chronic problem. It was a fight worth fighting, but unfortunately not one that could be won with things like continued unemployment in the balance.

You talk about the American people taking back control of their government. I just listened to the Tea Party and the radio screamers say that for months. Not one of them could say how. What do you mean "take back our government"?

3:11 "take back our government".
Look at the number of people that take the time to vote? You can even do it by mail now. What do I hear? Either my vote won't make a difference or I don't have a clue who or what to vote for, this from a person who voted faithfully for someone on "American Idol" weekly.
Some people will vote along party lines or worse yet name recongition
That's how you get a name like Russo voted on over and over.
This is not a game we must tell all government leaders from a small village to the people in Washington they are being held accountable.
We were eating lunch at work last week and with a group of over a dozen people. Three voted this November, I asked the group "Do you just want us three to decide everything for you?"
People have a gift and a right to hold politicans feet to the fire.

I am glad to see that a new unemployment extension has passed. The newly layed off personnel from the school system will need it. It took me almost a full year to find another job and I sure am thankful to the taxpayers that I had those benefits to keep my household running while I job searched. These people will need it as well. On the bright side, there have been MANY more jobs posted in the last 2-3 mos - hopefully they won't be looking very long! Best of luck to them.

Term 6:02. This is 3:11. Okay. Got it. Definitely agree with you on most of that. Lately, though, I do not urge people who are not involved (i.e., as you say, more interested in American Idol) to vote, nor do I urge young people to vote. After seeing the Tea Party in action and what the outcome of that was, I see that an uninformed voter is a dangerous voter. That is surely part of your point, I believe, but I would personally leave those people alone now. If you don't know the people and the history of the office, issue, etc., just stay tuned to America's Funnies Videos, and don't be pulling any uninformed buttons in the voting booth. That's how I see it now. I watched with disgust as the Tea Party people didn't have a clue what the truth was on ANY issues, but screamed their lying way to the voting boxes across America. Shameful. Even screaming that our government (Obama) was taking over health care, which of course, is not true. I wholeheartedly agree with you in your wondering how anyone could see health care in this country as a privilege and not a basic right. So I say, if you are not completely and correctly informed on the issues, just stay home and WATCH Dancing with the Stars, and keep your uninformed nose out of politics. Know what I mean?

This is 3:11 to 7:27: I agree with you that the Dream Act was and is a very bad idea. The only good thing that can happen with the R's going back into power is that maybe they will get rid of the illegals. Hope so. Glad that this Dream Act gateway nonsense was stopped. (It would be the first step in having all the illegals legalized, in my opinion.)

On the other hand, was I not just talking about uninformed and therefore dangerous voters? Obama's health care plan is NOT national health care. He is fixing the PRIVATE health care industry to protect Americans from their abuses - FROM SERIOUS HARM AND DEATH FROM THEIR ABUSES - and trying to make sure that ALL Americans can and do have health insurance coverage. Please get informed on this issue, and until you do, please do not vote. Once you get the FACTS on this issue, you will then see that you should not listen to the screaming liars, and you should get yourself educated on the issues. THEN you will be an informed voter and a desirable one, in my opinion.

Just showing up a council meeting or a school board meeting and asking a question? It's a good first step.
If no one shows upm at any of the meetings a person sitting on council may get the idea that everything is fine in the VILLE' Can't even blame them for reaching that assumption can you?

I wonder if the 900 billion is only what the government would have received in tax revenue if all, all the things in the tax bill were not passed. Tax cuts for everyone left to expire, increase in estate taxes reduced, child deduction eliminated and return of marriage penalty. If these were not in the bill, that 900 billion would have come out of everyone's pocket. We would have saved 900 billion if the taxes were allowed to expire. Yes we can borrow or take it from the tax payer starting Jan 1st. Which is better? Who knows but if everyones pay check got smaller, everyone would be up in arms.

The 2% reduction to Social Security is a terrible idea. Of course it doesn't effect the politicians, does it. A government system all ready in trouble only gets less money now. I guess too bad for those who want to retire.

Yes, and the Tea Party spent months screaming about taking back our government - and then gave it to the very people - the Republicans - that got America and Americans in this mess. Now they stood by quietly while the R's gave a tax break to the wealthiest Americans, which will hugely run up our deficit.

Here's a little tidbit for 5:04: I just read an AARP article that Americans on Medicare are dying of cancer because they do not have supplemental (Medigap) insurance. Either they just didn't feel like having it and paying for it, or they just couldn't afford it. At any rate, Medicare only pays for 80%, the patient must pay for the other 20%. If you can't afford that insurance for the other 20%, and you get cancer, for example, the money you owe ends up to be astronomical. People can't pay it, and the facilities can no longer eat the rest of the bills, so they are cutting off treatment, and the people are dying.

But the Tea Party screamed and yelled that they don't want Obama to fix our healthcare system, and they say they want his fixes to be undone. Guess what - the next person who is cut off from treatment might be you or someone you love. Now there's REAL death panels for you, but don't let THAT stop you from lying about what is going on with Obama's attempt at stopping such horrible happenings. And what about all the people who just flat-out can't afford ANY healthcare insurance? Hospitals are refusing to see them now because they just cannot survive if they do. So watch out, Tea Partiers - you just may be the ones to choke on that tea.

Here's another little tidbit for 5:04 and the rest of the Tea Partiers: I know a 34 year old woman who had a seizure and had a terrible fall in a grocery store about one week ago. Fell hard on her shoulder and busted the hell out of her collar bone among other things. Very lucky she is not dead, but now guess what? She is out of work and has no insurance and nobody will do the necessary surgery on her. Maybe 5:04 or the other Tea Party screamers would like to take her place. Do you people have any idea how much blood you are going to have on your hands if you are successful and the Republicans hurt Obama's attempt at helping all Americans get the proper health insurance? Is there anything you would like to say to the young woman, Sara, right now about how you are so happy that she cannot get the proper health care that you are going to try to make sure that these atrocities continue.

At December 20, 2010 at 4:29 AM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

I was OK with this for years when it wasn't too bad, now I have had enough, I am sorry that someone has to suffer but when it gets to where I have to suffer busting my butt for 2 out of 3 welfares who are just plain abusing the system it is time to put a stop to it.

How about for a change you tell your almighty, do no wrong Dems, to fix the system, get rid of the dead beats instead of just asking us to throw more money at it?

7:35 People on Welfare have hospitialization they get a medical card. For the most part people who we call the working poor don't have access to hospitalization.

I only hope you have a better argument when you meet your maker, than its "the Democrats fault"?

At December 20, 2010 at 1:14 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Listen 7:35: What is happening now is that we are picking up the whole tab for many who cannot afford it. With the new health care reforms, everyone will HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE. Therefore, we may be paying for health insurance for some people, but when they get sick, it will be their HEALTH INSURANCE who picks up the tab, and not us. It will cost LESS, not more, and the hospitals, etc., will not be eating so much of the health care, if any.

While you think that YOU know that 2 out of 3 do not DESERVE it (where did you get that statistic?) and you think that YOU can tell which ones do and which ones do not DESERVE it, the truth is that we will ALL be better off financially under Obama's reforms than we are now.

YOU can now be dropped from your health care coverage if you come down with an illness they do not want to cover. Yes, YOU. And YOUR premiums will continue to rise at an exorbitant rate if nothing is done. Once again, here is a person throwing out poison without having any of the FACTS about what is going on and what the health care changes are even about.

So watch out because YOU may find yourself on the other side of this current system soon enough. And then maybe someone will look at you like YOU do not DESERVE health care (who ARE you?) and turn YOU away. You have no idea how much suffering can take place in a human body that needs health care and does not get it. You just be the judge and jury, and don't stand too close to me on judgement day - I don't want to get sucked in to the whirlwind that carries you down.

And you are right, Term, our health care system is NOT very good. For example, I just had a friend end up in the hospital because of a hernia that needed surgery. While she was in there, they almost killed her several times with wrong medication, etc. When she got so sick that she could not sit up, they hurried up and sent her to a nursing home, so her death wouldn't be on their records. When the nursing home refused to remedy the problem, THEY hurried and sent her home while she still could barely sit up. We had to figure it out ourselves, and my good friend is alive today because of US and INSPITE of the horrible medical people who were supposed to save her, not kill her. And this crap goes on every day. Most people in that situation just go ahead and die, and nobody is the wiser. It just so happens that I know what a piece of crap many of the doctors are, so I started to put the pieces of the puzzle together soon enough to save her but WE had to do it, they did not.

7:35, why don't you get out there and make sure our government gets rid of the ILLEGALS who are abusing our system? That IS something constructive you can do.

At December 20, 2010 at 1:48 PM , Anonymous TERM>> said...

Let's face it our health care system is broken, and anytime someone trys to fix it the big money comes out and beats the idea down.
1:14 7:35 is not the only one who carrys this idea.

At December 20, 2010 at 2:04 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

This is 1:14. Yes, I am aware that 7:35 is not the only one who carries this idea. I am talking now to ALL the 7:35's out there who are STILL not armed with the facts of the problem. NOBODY is going to be able to afford health care if something is not done, NO COMPANIES will be able to offer it to their employees, and NO hospitals, etc. will be able to stay in business. So if all the 7:35's out there don't care about the working poor, etc., then they can just selfishly care about themselves, because THEY are going to be in more and more trouble every year with the premiums, etc. And, like I said, if THEY get sick, their insurance company can drop them just as easy as they please, etc., etc., etc.

What I CANNOT believe is that people are STILL spewing the junk that 7:35 is, and STILL do not know the FACTS of the health care reform bill.

To 1:14, This is 7:35,I can't believe you bought into we will be better off.
This great plan is already costing me more. My company broke down for us how much our insurance went up this year for the provisions of the "obama plan". The "no lifetime limit" is now costing me $12.00 a month more. Lets talk about starting in Jan. no OTC medical stuff may be purchased using a flexible spending account. That provision does "NOTHING" to help the average person, all it does is put more tax money in the governments pockets. OH wait, that extra tax money is coming from ME, and it will be used to fund his "health care plan". I figure that provision will cost me at least 200 to 300 dollars a year.

I believe sir YOU do not know the facts, I am living them already and most of his provisions are still to come.

The people who don't or say they don't have any income have 100% coverage and no copay.

The Politicians and the wealthy have golden health insurance coverage that covers everything.

It's the average working stiff who gets stiffed. He must prove he can pay before he is taken care of. He must show all kinds of ID and financial responsibility also.

I wonder where in this health care plan it says all health care will be completely free. Anyone can see a doctor or go to hospital and walk out without a bill. I wonder how many people think this is how it is going to happen.

At December 20, 2010 at 6:01 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

This is 2:04 to add to my last post. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates that the Democrat's new health care law will reduce the federal deficit by $143 billion - yes, that's right - BILLION - from 2010 to 2019. WITHOUT IT, OUR ENTIRE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM IS NOT SUSTAINABLE. Something must be done, and it must be done right now. So the people who are still spouting untrue facts and/or are trying to undue or stop it are completely detrimental and dangerous to our country. Even with this plan, I don't think everyone will be covered, and it still will need a lot of tweaking as time goes on, but it's the best and only thing that has actually been done to fix it.

And by the way - concerning the TARP and bailout money - most of it is, or will be, paid back to the government, and a lot of it is coming back to us at a great profit to the government. The government gave money in such a way that they ended up with a monetary interest in the companies, etc., and they were able to sell those interests for a lot of money as the companies recovered.

It's not just the government that people have to worry about. It's the uninformed voter who listen to the lies being told, no matter how many times they are told the truth. The Republicans know that if they tell the same lies often enough, that people will believe them and jump on the bandwagon and help them to spread. Enter the Tea Party.

So I say this again - the new health care law will reduce the federal deficit by $143 BILLION from 2010 to 2019, and without it, our entire health care system IS NOT SUSTAINABLE.

At December 20, 2010 at 6:38 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

To 7:35. This is 1:14. The reason that the "no lifetime limit" is costing you 12.00/month more is because that is being implemented right now before some of the other provisions that will offset things like that, so lives can start being saved right now. If you think that paying 12.00/month more to have the peace of mind that you will not run out of coverage, should a serious illness befall you, is not worth it, I would love to see what you have to say if it actually happens to you. Do you understand that? If you get really sick, right now your health insurance can cut you off when you reach a limit. You're just damn lucky it hasn't happened to you, and maybe you should have a conversation with someone to whom it HAS happened (or has happened to one of their children).

Without these changes in health care, all premiums will continue to go up astronomically. Obama also said that it would not stop all rises in premiums, but it will keep them much lower than they WOULD have been without the changes, and eventually, it should help a lot. Without these changes, the entire system is NOT SUSTAINABLE. So excuse me for not crying about your 12.00 rise in premiums. Without these changes, in a few years you will not HAVE company insurance, because no company will be able to afford it.

(By the way - I am a woman.)

To 5:37: That is mostly who this health care reform will protect - the middle class working Joe (or Jill). And health care will not be free for people. Everyone will pay their share - or most people will - including people who just opt out of the system and, therefore, make it more expensive and unsustainable for everyone else. It's not a government takeover. It is the government making changes in the way private health care companies can do business in the United States so everyone can have health care coverage and it also remains viable. A large part of it is to protect Americans from the dangerous and deadly practices that the health insurance industry engages in now that hurt and kill the American people - such as the yearly and lifetime limits that are being eliminated and that 7:35 is unbelievably complaining about.

The bottom line is Term, most of the posters on this site, and the majority of Painesville are all liberal, bleeding heart Democrats who think it is OK to let lazy people live off everyone elses hard work.

You are not doing those people or anyone else in this country any good by supporting that kind of BS.
You will sensationalize Republicans as "Rich" people and big business, well, go gather some facts and you will discover the Democrat leaders in this country are actually richer than the republicans. You will find out that the average Democrat is no longer a "poor" person but rather a middle class "me me me" suburbanite.

How many of you realize Republicans as a group are much more likely to participate in social charities.

If you want to talk specific issues go for it, but stop the direct or insinuated put downs of Republicans because most of us see through it and you make yourself look like a puppet.

At December 21, 2010 at 1:47 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

This is 1:14 to 8:50: I'm not going to spend too much time on you because obviously you are one of the people who do not listen to the facts, no matter how many times you are told them. The reason I sound like Obama is because I am TELLING THE FACTS about the new health care, as is he. FACTS ARE FACTS. I know that concept escapes people like you, but sorry, that's the way it IS.

As far as liberals thinking it is okay to let lazy people live off the rest of hard-working America. Was it not Bill Clinton (a Democrat) who put forth the largest welfare reforms we had ever had?

I also don't remember either me, or any other Democrat here having any problem against the rich or BEING rich. It's America, go for it.

You are crabbing that I am not talking about specific issues - well, if talking about health care is not a specific issue, then I don't know what is.

Here's another FACT for you. The Republicans' "FIX" of health care was to introduce Managed Care. They promised that if we gave insurance companies the right to tell us who would could see for our care and what treatments we could and could not have, then they would treat us fairly, and it would keep costs down, and it would save our health care system.

Well, not only did that subject Americans to untold suffering and death at the hands of the immoral and greedy health insurance companies (still is), it did not save our system. Our health care system is about to collapse - you know just like the Republicans almost collapsed our ENTIRE COUNTRY.

Here's another FACT for you - babies who are born with any kind of deficit are being denied insurance on their parents' policies because of PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS. How about if that happened to YOUR child. THAT'S what the R's did for us with their fix for health care in the U.S. - let the insurance companies hurt us even more. Obama is fixing the pre-existing problem for everyone, not just infants.

I know these FACTS won't mean anything to you, but I put them out there for others who understand that TRUE FACTS are just that - TRUE FACTS - no matter WHO tells them. And the funny thing about TRUE FACTS is that if someone is TELLING them, they do NOT change from person to person. That would explain, dear Republican, why I sound JUST LIKE OBAMA. Get it?

Courts are ruling now - can't force people to buy health insurance, but I don't understand all there is to know - why is it a law that drivers in Ohio must carry financial responsibility coverage (insurance) if the courts are now ruling the government can't force you to do so? The healthcare system needs a fix - i just don't think the obama plan is the fix best for these times. Why can't insurance companies sell across state lines? why is there a law that they can't? and by the way, my insurance increased for 2011 by about $450. Same coverage. Many of these healthcare changes have not yet taken affect.

I'm sure you will be chastised here. But you have made some good points. No one is always right and no one is always wrong. I also believe health care needed fixed but I also believe the new health care bill is not the complete solution. Time will tell and projected costs or savings are just political banter.

I also believe they just might be selling us some land, or a bill of goods with the health care. I want to see if it is swamp land or not. The Gristmill and Terms favorite piece of property seemed like a good idea at the time, didn't they.

Time will tell but I think there will have be changes to make it work. Not really a fan of having the IRS collect my taxes and my health care payments too.

Kathy I thought the same thing about automobile insurance. Although as we have always been told driving is a privilege and not a right. Plus the fact it protects the person you might hit.
I also wondered why health insurance can't sell across state lines. Did someone just mention state rights?
All states have different laws and if insurance company incorporated in a state like Texas. Texas law would oversee your policy, not Ohio law. Insurance companies would seek states that were the most benefical to their company and not their policy holder. Leaving you with little legal recourse.

Don't want to say it but look, if you let the top two percent keep their tax cut. The GOP will let you keep yours, give the unemployed another year of benefits, Pass a bill to rid us of DADT and let gays openly in the military, give the President his START Treaty, and probably make them stay in town until they change their minds about funding that bill for first responders.
What a bargin.... for who?

Speaking of laws. Don't you need a license to practice medicine or law in the different states among others?

This is 1:14. Kathy Sak: I'm not an expert on all aspects of this bill, but I can tell you what I am pretty sure is the case with one of the issues you raised. The huge increase in your premiums may not be at all because of the changes in the new health care laws. One of the reasons that things need to be changed is because premiums have gone up so high so fast, and President Obama told us that premiums were on schedule to go up very high this year BEFORE any changes with the new law. I do think that some smaller increases could be because of the new law, because they put some things in place right away before some of the other provisions to offset them are in place. For example, they took off the yearly/lifetime limits on coverage for people who get sick before everyone is required to have health insurance, which will offset the cost of some of those things. The government HAS stepped in with some insurance companies who were raising their rates unbelievably high while using the new law as an excuse. They could not justify the hikes, and were forced to lower them.

To 2:59: This new health care bill is just a start. Our health care system is a total disaster. It will take years to figure out how to completely fix it the best it can be fixed. The Democrats needed the Republicans to help them with this and not to just say "no." So if there are any Republicans who are not happy with it, they only have their party to blame. As you say, this will take a lot of work to get it right, and that's what the D's are saying. As an aside, you will NOT be paying your health care premiums to the government. You will be paying them to your insurance company as always. The government did not take over health care. They are just regulating how health insurance companies do business in the United States.

Term, right now health insurance companies CAN incorporate in one state and sell insurance in another. Right now, many health insurance companies use Ohio because Ohio's Department of Insurance is a piece of junk. They care nothing for the consumer. They are only out for the insurance companies, and will let them hurt the consumer in any way they want to.

One of the problems with rising costs of premiums is because the costs of health care are skyrocketing. An AARP article says that cancer drugs can cost $200,000 to $400,000 a MONTH. Our system is a mess, and it has to be fixed. This current Obama plan is just the beginning blueprint. That's why it's so important for people to quit lying about it, and let the discussions continue in the best way possible. ALL of our lives are at stake, as are those of our families.

(Sorry for such long posts.)

It's amazing how much can be acomplished when you let the top 2% keep their tax cut?
There for a minute I thought the Republicans would have to abandon Lee Greenwoods "Proud to be a American" song but they finally came through with with helping pass the "First Responders Bill".
There's something to be learned, if your paying attention.

This is 1:14, and this is what I know right now. I'll go to great lengths, obviously, to defend most of what O'bama does, but one thing I cannot defend is his Dream Act. As much as it kills me, I have to give total credit to the Republicans for stopping the passage of that bill. I am afraid, though, that bills like that, that are a first step in legalizing ALL the illegals, will start passing in one form or the other if all legal Americans do not start standing up to it more. The illegals are gaining enormous political clout every year, and soon they will not need us to pass anything - they will be able to do it on their own, with enough Hispanics in power and enough legal Hispanic voters. It's happening already. I hope the Republicans don't cave in, and I hope they are prepared to get them all OUT now. It's not enough to stop just the Dream Act, somebody in power has to have the resolve to get them OUT, and it sure as heck is not the Democrats.

To 1:14, I would like to disagree. There is no way this country will ever send 20 million people back to Mexico so at least the Dream Act had firm stipulations that made them citizens only after they became educated or served in the armed forces. This is a good piece of legislation because it is the first step to getting future generations off our welfare roles and into legal, productive society.

It is not the perfect solution but it is better than our current "just ignore it" plan.

5:56 How wrong your thinking is. If 20 million Americans failed to file and pay income tax would you say there is no way to get them to pay? No the government would take 200,000 or maybe more and make examples out of them the other ones would conform to the tax rules. Throw a million out and watch how fast the others follow.
There is no way the government can give amnesty to lawbreakers and their children.

If the government starts giving amnesty of any kind, it will be the end of our country as we know it - and not in 50 years - probably in just a few. They have enough people in power now (in office) and enough legal voters that they are already taking over some of our elections. When the Hispanics, like the group NALEO, threaten our law makers that they had better be good to the Hispanics and grant them amnesty or they will not have their votes, there is something very important that they are leaving out. THEY know that soon the Hispanics will have enough power to take over our country. OUR lawmakers seem to be too stupid to get this. Another thing they are not saying is that if we do nothing, they will quietly glide into power in this country by their numbers alone. They are coming in by the millions, and they have everyone giving birth just as quickly as they can make the babies. We're in dire straits here, and our government is just too stupid to know it. They keep pandering to them for votes, but soon there will not be ANYONE in office anywhere in the US that is not Hispanic. And quickly enough, they will open the borders. Then you know what you have? Mexico. So hold onto your head because they like to behead people there.

Here's an idea: Why in the world are government offices open from 8 until whatever, when the majority of people who utilize government services work during the same hours?

For instance, why are the libraries open all day long when the majority of users are students and working people who can't come in until after 3? Seniors can come at any time, but having fully staffed and comped librarians working in a ghost town makes no sense.

Move the hours from 3 until 9 and then you won't have to open on the week-ends. Same for other government services.
