'WHO ARE YOU" the who

Who are you ?
Who, who, who, who ?

Well we know who you ain't! back to that later.

Some of you have told me you have contacted your city council members about the HOLA Building? Seems you all receive the same response, well I don't think I can get four member's to vote yes on this? So tomorrow this request just dies.

They have had at least two council meetings when it could have been brought up and voted in front of the public. They chose not to. Again no guts!. This is what you have elected to represent your city.
I guess they can't be bothered? So a town with numerous community kitchens scattered in Church's around town now will have I guess a quasi- business incubator,/ catering/ God knows what else.

Now speaking  about a  quasi-government body/agency not run by the government? The Lake County Land Bank.
Look at their member's on the internet.

John M. Rodgers, Esq. Executive. Who I guess makes $60,000+ as a sideline as well as representing this area in Columbus. When he's not mooching' a meal out at Bob Evans. ( Yes John I have watched you)

Two county commissioner's who I know don't live in Painesville.
 Painesville Township Trustee, self explanatory.
Fairport Harbor Mayor ditto.
Municipal Director but not Painesville's
Treasurer but not Painesville's
Five other selected Director's also not from Painesville.

Low and Behold a Painesville Connection!

James M. Lyons, legal counselor  for the Land Bank

now wait for it....

Painesville Planning Commission Assistant City Law Director and  legal counselor for Planning ?

Not to disparage Mr. Lyons but it seems like a slight conflict of interest? At the Planning Commission Meeting he never made mention of this. Odd.

Look there is no delivery door, storage space for refuse A delivery door a door to take out food to say catering trucks or whatever. Can I say poor planning?

It was reported on this blog. they have received the USDA Grant for a commercial kitchen. O.K. this building just became public knowledge what three months ago? Begging the question how long has this been in the works? And who knew what when?

And some of you are surprised on what happens around here!

It will all be over Friday or it all starts Friday?

I hope that everyone who reads your blog remembers that their ELECTED Council members opted not to represent the interests or concerns of the citizens.

Whether they approve or do not approve the conditional use of the building is not the issue, it is that they didn't listen to anyone who has a thought about it.

Think about it this way. The Planning Commission opted to take the easy way out by approval and referring the matter to Council. Council opted not to hold a public hearing so the Planning Commission recommendation stands. They are BOTH taking the easy way out.

To make a comparison, it would be as though the Planning folks recommended that Council get a pay raise. Then Council, by not holding a hearing, gets the raise automatically by doing nothing.

Again, remember this when the current Council people run for office again. They certainly do not have the courage to stand up to Veronica Dahlberg so you have to wonder if they can make ANY tough choices?

Cowards.

I'm curious, with all the posts Term puts up along with all of the responses from resident, why dont I ever read any editorials in the paper from him or other posters. This HOLA situation needs to hit the papers in the editorials to bring other residents who may not read the blog aware of this situation. And other situations that many residents are left in the dark about.

1:27 Great response you have figured it out. That said this present council likes to operate in secrecy. Back to the assistant law director I am sure the city was well aware of the disposition of that building by the land bank long before the rest of us. Thinking not to take any or as little action as possible.
With that in mind the one thing this administration and council don't want to be viewed as anti-Hispanic. Which has nothing to do with the purpose of this building. Think I'm wrong? Look at the hops the they made the Shamakins jump through over Steele Mansion. Maybe they could have saved a lot of time and had Ms. Dalberg say it was to be a Hacienda! It would have been approved without a hearing.
This is not about the who... but the why and how.
So many questions left unanswered. There purpose is not to be liked, but what is in the best interest of our city. In this regard they failed miserably, again.
On to the next quest. What's with the parking garage and why has worked stopped of it?

1:04 Believe me I've tried. At least three editorials about the AMP-OHIO fiasco. Nothing. Thinking back how often do they even print editorials anymore?
Then again how much has circulation gone down?
I'm doing the best I can believe me readership here is growing.

If Mr. Lyons is both the attorney for the Land Bank as well as the Planning Commission isn't that a conflict of interest? And if it is isn't the whole thing illegal? What a bunch.

What do you think the chances are of new city manager Monica Irelan getting a $170,000 going away present from Napoleon, Ohio to come to Painesville?

10:18 And who do you suggest I take this concern to Mr. Gurley the Law Director? Or the assistant District Attorney who must know some law our Ward III councilman? That guy is into eulogies not much of anything else for your benefit.
My point of this was to open a little window to show you what's goes on around here, and how. Now I don't believe there is "Rigging" in elections....The rigging around here starts after the election!

10:36 I don't believe so. That will be our responsibility in a couple of years.

On another subject

Is there a reason for the city to remain silent on the passing of former Ward III Councilman Robert Fountain?
A mention on the city website or Channel 12 would be appropriate.

Dear Friendly Neighbor,
This is what consumes you?
First the City sends bills to me at this address.
The taxman uses this address.
My insurance companies use this address.
The U.S. Postal service uses this address.
The Lake County Board of Elections uses this address.
St. Marys Church uses this address.

And then there is YOU!

Go to the Board of Elections and please make your case. At least I will know my accuser.

It's not that hard. Do you live at 477? Do you sleep there, go there after council meetings, after church? If you don't, you aren't living there.

It doesn't matter where your mail goes, if it went to a PO box, does that mean you live at the post office?

You should be more careful when talking.

1:01 If your there everyday count for anything? Like I said complain to proper authority's.

a question let's say a wealthy man owns a home in Ohio, owns another one in Florida and another in California. He only votes once which location is he allowed to vote in?
If a college student goes to college isn't he allowed to vote where he doesn't sleep? What about if your in the military stationed in Virginia aren't you allowed to vote in your home state?
Your concern for me is unbelievable. The only thing that would change is the vote forward councilman? Do you want me to vote against DeLeone or Shoop?
This ends here or at the board of elections.

"And who do you suggest I take this concern to?" I cannot figure out just how clueless you people are. Take it to Columbus. Pick up the &^%&* phone and question people in the Ohio Ethics departments. It isn't hard, especially since you know the ins and outs and all involved in this land bank problem. You put these problems out but will not find a way to take care of them. Lame excuse for not using the comment section in the newspapers too. Try Try then try again

Term,
Just wondering why certain "clowns" always want to turn a discussion about City issues into personal attacks on you??
Did you steal his girlfriend?
Beat him up when you were younger?
Steal his lunch money?
There MUST be a reason that he is so fascinated with you.
Do tell!

The examples you mentioned have specific rules around them, what you are doing is not covered by those rules. I know what I am talking about, do you?

Homesite rollback? What do you know about it?

4:34 I took your advise and sent the Ohio Ethics Commission my concerns. Let's see where it takes us. I will forward the email to the city representatives. Trying

Thanks for taking the suggestion. When there are no answers near, we have to reach as far out as we can to get the answers. No resolution local, go county, go state...
