"CLOSER TO MY HOME" grand funk railroad

Everyone listen to me
And return me my ship

Can you hear me
Or am I all alone?

A little history here,

Presently by the number of executive sessions our council is presently taking I guess they are on a curious hunt to find this city a city manager?

First council has not hired as far as I know a headhunter to do a search for this new CM as well as council looking for someone local.

See anyone from pretty much outside of Painesville it may take that person a year or two to understand the workings of the city as well as its personnel?

Plus many of you have been clamoring for a mayor?

Well let be throw this hat in the ring.  Randy Bruback city director who presently runs the Waste Water Treatment Plant. Randy is presently a resident of the city of Painesville and well known by all.
In all the times I have been privy of listening to conversations never a negative word by anyone associated with the city.

Maybe we just over engineer all these city manager issues? What is the purpose of all this? If it's to run this city right well it appears the last two had limited success. A person who knows the community, the people in it as well as the people that work for it has a head start to solving issues.

I have watched Mr. Bruback interact with council, other department heads , employee's as well as residents. Seems to have great repose with all.

Experience? Well how has that worked out for us? Electric Contracts, Service Garage, Water lines? Seems it doesn't really matter does it? Estimates?

Now I have never discussed this with Mr. Bruback only one time when he was acting city manager as Doug Lewis was out of town. I don't even know if he wants or would even take the job?

My point is sometimes around here take a simple solution and try to make it complicated. That said everyone including me should have an open mind as to who should be our next city manager. I'm open to all suggestions.

After thinking about this your idea isn't as ridiculous as I first thought.
Mr. Bruback would probably make an excellent city manager. He might be able to clean up s#@t the Domer's create!

I really like the article about LE College trying to help put this city. Perhaps people in community development should step aside to make room for these upcoming leaders. Seems they care about building this town back up than anyone in the past 10 years.

Bruback? Yeah, that's just what this city needs. A rude, nasty abuser of the citizens who followed McMahon right in to all the lies she told the people of this city. And how well is he even running the plant? The city still stinks to high heaven; he hasn't done a thing to control the odors there after all these years, so he sure as heck isn't going to get the stink out of the rest of this city. I vote a firm, resounding no on Bruback. He says whatever he needs to say to cover things up and shut people up just like everyone else running things in this city. Very bad idea.

1:43 Comon' Sue you were the genius that moved directly down wind from a treatment plant and your surprised? Look I know all the city officials, council people past and present that tried to help and in the end ... There's just no satisfying you!!! Hey there's a new sheriff I mean city manager in town blow up her phone!

3:34. Sorry, not sue. The whole damn city smells, and you are singling out one person? We live blocks away, and we have many dinners ruined by the smell, and forget about having your windows open. People have been complaining about this for decades...for blocks and blocks away from the plant...and nothing is ever done. In this day and age, I'm sure something can be done. So thank goodness he is not the new city manager, as he has been rude, evasive, and lies to whomever he needs to about whatever he needs to, to shut people up. He learned well from McMahon. They have effectively gotten away with doing nothing, and leaving a whole end of the city in a smelly mess for decades, and since he has been here, he has been a major part of doing nothing for all the people who have complained and want the city to do something finally. But they have picked someone in cahoots with AMP. Great. They sound just as intelligent as you do. You must know how bad the city and Bruback have handled this situation, and for how many decades many, many people have complained. Maybe you should be the new manager...you'd fit right in. Just one more rude jerk shutting up and putting down the citizens while the city has now been run completely into the ground. Can't wait for Thanksgiving to come, as again my beautiful Thanksgiving dinner will smell like sewage. You need to quit helping them hurt the homeowners around here. The smells from that plant are horrific, and something needs to be done. At least he won't be the new city manager, as suggested by you, which was my main point. And by the way, who has tried to help whom? Nobody has done anything, so quit sticking up for the city.

11:12 Not for or against anyone? I just explain what I see. Doesn't make me right or wrong. Sticking up for Painesville.

Term,
That is my point. If this person read your blog regularly they would know that you don't take the City side on things unless it is warranted. To say that you defend the City position on all things is slightly incorrect.
Maybe they meant it differently than it came across?

3:34. Your comment is disgusting. You need to find some anger management counseling from someone who specializes in helping abusers.

The reason he attacks people on the plant issue so viciously is because his friend was the councilman for that ward for decades as this has been going on, and his friend refused to do anything about it to help the citizens. Therefore, 3:34's horrifying abuse. It's to continue to protect his friend. He blames all comments on one person who called for his friend to quit running for councilman since he refused for decades to represent the citizens. I have written a comment before about his friend, the former councilman, and he eviscerated the same person. When I posted back to say it was me and not her, he not only didn't post it, but he made a comment acting like that person had written something back, and it was such a bad post that he wouldn't print it. 3:34 has completely stuck up for the city on this issue because he has stuck up for his friend who refused to do his job, and his abuse has been off the charts. Again, I would recommend counseling. Take your 3:34 post to the therapist so they'll know where to start. And the emphasis is on start. I am also curious how 1:48 can stick up for him without ever commenting on that abusive post. That post is shocking, and it's not his first at that level.

7:51 Disgusting/Abusive? Therapist Really!
Have to ask ever go to a council meeting, town hall to complain? I guess not. You haven't even tried to fix this why not let the public know?
I'm not sure but I don't think hiding is working?

11:17: Don't even continue this. You have no idea who has done what and who has not. What I know is that many people have been fighting this for years, including myself, without needing your permission or direction or your supposed crystal ball on what has, and has not, been done. Why not mention your friend, Andrew Flock, who was the councilman for this Ward 1 until recently. He held that position for at least 25 years, and all complaints fell on his deaf ears, as did almost all other complaints and concerns for this Ward. I can think of only one or two things that he actually tried to do. You become an abusive pit bull for him every time anyone mentions anything that he refused to do in his job. One has to wonder just how good of a "frieeeeend" he is. One thing is for sure, and that is that this is one huge issue for this city that he never lifted one finger for, or asked one question for. If the fault lies with anyone who should have done something, it is certainly him and, therefore, your horrific abuse.

6:58 here's how it works you comment on my post I comment on your comment. It ends there. No you continue the dialogue and so do I. Your the only one who can stop it! Now my suggestion and it that only that was to take this issue to a council meeting. Which I believe you never have. You are correct you don't need my permission or directions nor bringing my friends into it. And in closing if you want this Horrific abuse to stop (in your eyes) don't answer this! I have no doubt you can't stop yourself Can you?

Recap for Term:

1. You mention that the water plant manager, Bruback, should be new city manager.
2. Someone says no, because he's done a horrible job in his present position as water plant manager with the citizens and with the odor problems of the plant.
3. You attack that person because your friend, Andrew Flock was the councilman for that Ward, Ward 1, for 25 years, and never did anything to help the citizens with this problem. You do this even though your friend, nor anything about him, had been mentioned.
4. Someone writes back and says they are not the person you attacked.
5. You start berating citizens for not doing more even though you have no idea what has been done or not and, in fact, you know of many citizens who have fought for many years. You also know your friend never lifted a finger to help.
5. I agree, man. Get help. You can start with that pompous a$$ problem you have, and take it right into that abuse problem you have. And that's just for starters, LOL! Read your posts again or, better yet, take this stream to the counselor.

Recap to Anonymous

1)Yes I did.
2)Well first off he doesn't run the water plant, but the WWTP (sewage plant) but since you want to nitpick.
3)Sorry this was an attack? And who brought up Andy Flock in the first place? Not me.
4)And you and I know this how? I only see Anonymous seems no one wants to use their names or it's the same person?
5)My statement in 10 years the subject of people coming to council meetings and complaining in person was something I had not witnessed. If it is as bad as stated that council meeting should be packed. I ask a resident at Lighthouse Point and they look at me with bewilderment? and said on rare occasions they detected an odor. So my question is who did they fight with? EPA? others on council? Have you spoken to Mrs. Shoop or the other three council people at large?
6) comes after 5 not another 5 if you or whoever feel abused I'm sorry and suggest you go elsewhere to deal with your issues. All for 1 or 3 for 1?
Dealing with you is like giving medicine to a dead person. What's the point?
