"IF YOUR GOING TO SAN FRANCISCO " scott mckenzie

"All across the nation such a strange vibration, people in motion"

Been down in the weather the past few days so I have had the opportunity to watch more FOXNEWS then usual.

The tragic story about a 32 year old San Francisco woman shot to death by an illegal alien on a boardwalk .

Seems this illegal has already served time in our prison system and had been deported four times in the past and was in San Francisco because it was a " Sanctuary City" I have no idea what his motive was? Robbery, Hate, Accidental  whatever? Simple fact if he wasn't in this country that young woman would be alive today.

So FOX goes on a rant about Sanctuary Cities. I for the most part agree with many of their observations.
How does a community decide to ignore present day Federal laws? To make their own laws up?

Looking it up there are almost 200 of these cities around and on one site it listed Painesville, Ohio Yes it was probably old unreliable data but still it was there. The next day FOX had a red dot on the northcoast of Lake Erie that represented a sanctuary city. The dot was approximately where Painesville would be on the map.

My question is how did our city make the list? I have been attending council meeting for over ten years and the subject was never voted on. I and many others have been assured by the former city manager that we definitely are not! I believe she's correct.

So where did all this come from?

I remember a city councilwoman claiming on FOX that Painesville was a welcoming city for both legal and illegals, but no promise of being a sanctuary city was made?

I remember an ICE raid where people seeking sanctuary in the basement of St. Mary's Church, again no promise.

Did a member of the Hispanic community take it upon themselves to deem us a sanctuary city?

A friend from a nearby city explained well maybe they mean Painesville is an "unofficial" Sanctuary City. What do you mean I asked? Well, maybe people are told to look the other way or not make certain calls he answered.

I told him I hope not because I don't want a situation that's  like San Francisco. The he said they said it's their responsibility not ours. not my fault it's theirs. Everyone CYA!

I don't even think this problem even has anything to do with him being illegal. First find me a person or group that after being deported four times doing time in prison there is anyone that believes he is an asset to America. Even to his community?

I am speaking as a father. For the one that held his daughter in his arms as she died. This all has to change and soon.

AND please get us off those lists!

I also wondered about that when I saw the news about sanctuary cities.
I attend a lot of Council meetings (not as many as you but still quite a few) and I have never even heard this mention.
The closest thing I can recall was the famous "letter" that just died.
We do not need, or want, that designation so people who are criminals feel safe in coming here.

Here's a few facts that I remember...

Former councilman Bill Horvath wrote a letter to (I can't remember who in government) telling them that we loved our illegals here in Painesville, Ohio, and that we didn't want them troubled in any way. The citizens wanted a letter of retraction sent, but I believe the city refused. Former councilwoman Abby Delamotte (sp?) went on a radio program and told the world the same thing. Didn't she actually say it was a sanctuary city at that point? We had council meetings where Veronica Dahlberg, head give-away-our-country-to-the-illegals person in this area spoke, and many illegals came to say they were illegal and how they came to Painesville because they'd be safe here and how they loved it here. There was a song, and I'm sure still is, about how illegals should come to Painesville, Ohio, because they'll be safe here. That information will circulate for decades if not longer in the illegal community. Who was on the radio program with Abby? Was it Joe Hada?

When Abby went on the radio station, virtually calling for illegals to come to our city, the council was doing that for a "so there" to the people in the city who were fighting against the illegals. It was just like when Joe Hada said he was voting "proudly" for the horrible electric deals they got us into, as he glared out into the crowd at the citizens who were opposed to the electric deals.

I went to several sites to check this out. Of all the sites only one did Painesville showed up. Now, I'm smart enough to know not to believe Everything on the internet and like the above post I think this falls back on a few council folk and that letter. But I do know this city/PPD is famous for turning a blind eye on this terrible situation that's been going on for many years. Our leaders should get this under control but when the new PPD chief was hired, his words were more supportive of the illegals than upholding the LAW.

When all that was going on, the illegals were coming here by buses loaded up with them every night and being dropped off somewhere in the middle of town. Does anyone remember that? I wonder if it's still going on?

It really doesn't matter if Painesville officially declared itself a sanctuary city for the most part. They told all the illegals it was safe for them here, and that we wanted them. And as far as I can tell, it IS safe for them here. Even if they issued a formal retraction, it's really too late. It's out there, and it's even listed on one web site, as mentioned in an above post, that we are. I think it's the Mexican town of Leonne, or something similar that has emptied out into Painesville, Ohio. Mexico is filled with ghost towns, because all the people are here in the United States, with many millions being illegal and having legal babies just as fast as they can have them. They laugh about how stupid Americans are. Next time you think about how high your health care costs are, for example, make sure you think of that, as we don't even take into account anymore about the enormous costs to each American all these people bring. They just keep stealing from us, and we just keep paying and paying and paying. And it's a sad day in America when Donald Trump is the only one speaking any truth on the subject. I don't think he even knows how right he is. He needs to do the proper research so he is actually informed with the facts, which are a thousand times worse than he is saying.

There are sanctuary cities who are sanctuary cities because they have actually passed an ordinance stating so. Then there are sanctuary cities that have become known in the hispanic community because of their actions, or lack of action against illegals. Until the officials in Painesville quit turning a blind eye, we are basically a sanctuary city and the illegals know this. Haven't I heard it mentioned on this site that the police here have been instructed to look the other way when it comes to illegals? I do know that I can't get them to take any action on the loud music from the neighbors when I call in a complaint. So I do believe that we are a sanctuary city because of our actions.

Since a few council folk read this, I'd like to ponder a question for them and readers. Why does this city have ordinances/rules/laws if they are not to be followed through with? Example" Garage sale signs. Posted everywhere including one I and a patrol car passed on Cedarbrook, directing to a sale on Hickory. We both passed it, he turned down the street. Upon my return to the city about 3 hours later, the sign still stood. I cant believe the PPD Never sees these signs while patrolling. May I suggest some revenue for the city? FINES - fine those who do not follow these ordinances.

Maybe if some city officials read these remarks maybe they will understand why the police levy failed. Where do people who live in a sanctuary city find sanctuary for their families? I guess it's more important to protect the lawbreakers? Please take the time to remember your oaths.

If you prize peace and quiet, Painesville is not for you. The LOUD Mexican music from near Argonne and N. State on a recent afternoon into the wee hours was unbelievable in spite of repeated calls to the police. And the fireworks and firecrackers starting a week before July 4 were ridiculous. Painesville COULD be a nice place to live, but it's not, and if I could afford to move, I'd get out of here in a heartbeat.

12:33pm, yes! It is still going on. Friday nights a bus stops in the Convenient Store on Richmond Street (I know it's not Convenient now, but can't remember the actual name now)and out comes 20-30 Mexican men with suitcases. There are vans picking most of them up. Some hang out for maybe 15-30 minutes and then their van shows up. So, yes, it is still going on.

I live in the same area as 9:21, and I am also distressed with the firecrackers. And, also, fires are started so easily if one of those lands in the wrong place, such as on your roof. You can be sure if that happened, there wouldn't be a Mexican to be found to pay for the damage. If you live out in the country and want to chance burning your own house or car or property down, then go ahead, but in a place as populated as this, are they crazy? I'm surprised they didn't at least damage someone's car and, again, I'm sure you'd never be able to find who was to blame. Where were the cops for all of that, I'd like to know. And it went on for a couple of weeks, and it is still happening occasionally.

Hey 5:36
I with you on the garage sale problem. I have chased non existent garage sales many times down in the Cedarbrook area. I saw one sign up for two weeks. You would like to go knock on the door and ask about the sale, but that would be fun/stupid/asking for trouble, you pick.

I wish I could post a video to this site. Last night I was so furious at the idiots across the street and a couple of houses over. Working on THREE pickup trucks in their driveway and blasting some sort of awful Mexican music that was all too clearly audible from three houses away across the street. I was so angry I recorded them. But I felt too defeated to bother calling the police. I've been calling a lot lately and I'm sure they are sick of hearing from me. I just need to move, that's all there is to it. Our neighborhood is full of inconsiderate morons and there seems to be no way to fight it.

Our former Police Chief Hagar was "old school, no nonsense, law and order cop". He is respected by many in the law enforcement field. He was also "fired/retired" by our City Manager for not "embracing the diversity of our City". Our new Chief has been instructed to turn a blind eye towards certain communities. Why did Council allow CM Carson to force Chief Hagar out? This question must be asked during the council race this fall!

3:46 Painesville must enjoy annoying noises?
6:49 By you not calling the people in charge will tell us "there is no report on file?" Call your councilman. Do not feel defeated it will only result in the situation getting worse. 6:49 take that video to your council person for an explanation.

5:37 The garage sale signs, I agree when it's over collect your signs.
7:21 Feel free to ask, don't expect an answer. It would be interesting if Border Patrol or ICE has been called to Painesville recently?
I wonder how the city would react if you ignored ordinances? Over the July 4th holiday I watched a house being reroofed on W. Jackson St. I saw no permit? Blind eye?

At July 15, 2015 at 10:34 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

No permit? Blind eye? Did you turn them in? Weekend workers do these jobs then so they don't have to buy a permit. Too bad they cant be fined, charged double the permit cost for trying evade paying it and or made to take it all down. Owners of garage sale signs should be fined. If they can't comply with the regulations and they are left up - city is looking for ways to increase revenue- THEN fine the abusers.

Exactly what kind of bus comes to the Ville, dropping illegals off? I've never seen a Greyhound in town, thinking something like that would stick out like a sore thumb and someone would notice unless its very late at night.Blind eye? That's what admin and council does (of course we can't compromise our principals because we might lose votes, our seat on council and any future political aspirations) for the hundreds of illegals living here too. Council had no clue what was really happening with Troy Hager, the damage was already done and could not be reversed for Chief Hager (and the others fired). This should have been a lesson for council in the future to investigate why someone is being let go before the axe falls again. I'm sure everyone here has heard that the present PPD chief was the one that threw Hager under the bus and then was promoted - well imagine that.

6:49 here, I have emailed my councilman and sent him a snapshot from the video I took, showing the three trucks and the two guys working on them. Thanks for the encouragement to keep calling. Darn it, I WILL keep calling. Why should I let these buffoons ruin the 'quiet enjoyment' of my own home that I'm legally entitled to? According to the police dept., they do respond to every call they receive. So I guess until the trash in my neighborhood cleans up their act, the police are going to be here a lot. I should have called last night, darn it. Well, next time those jerks share their wonderful "music" with us, they can expect a visit from the PPD, courtesy of me. (I wonder if Chief Powalie reads this blog?)

6:49 Glad you decided to do something about the problem. You deserve your peace quiet.

10:34 Who do you call on a holiday weekend? Your correct though timing is everything.
10:39 If what you say is true? Then Chief Hager should have stood up for himself. Then again he probably didn't feel it was worth the time or effort? Nothing changes until people speak up. As far as Chief Hager I have heard both pro and con stories.

10:39am, it comes between 11pm and midnight most Fridays and it isn't a greyhound. It is white and I heard it referred to on the police scanner as a coach bus. The policeman as checking in saying the bus was there dropping passengers and should he call Immigration. He as told "no", just stay nearby and make sure all are picked up safely. What a bunch of crap! 6:49am, I must live near you. Almost exact same experience.

Garage sales aren't the only thing that goes by the wayside. Cars parked on lawns (I watched a police car drive right past one on my street), trash bins sitting out days after trash pickup, motorhomes in the driveways in front of houses, no stopping for stop signs, right turns where no turns are posted (notorious at Chestnut & 20-see it all the time) Look, again, just like the illegals...Why have ordinances or laws in place if they aren't going to enforce them? Maybe this is the way PVille residents are rebelling. Until such time the illegals are taken care of, legal residents can break the laws too.

7:03 Wonder if that coach bus will show up tomorrow night?
8:32 So Painesville resident's are rebelling? Interesting

7:03, yeah, isn't that something. The cop is told to just make sure that the illegals all get picked up safely, as these unknown people who do not belong here, infiltrate our populous going God-only-knows-where and doing God-only-knows-what, and costing us money, and having illegal babies as fast as they can find someone who is anxiously awaiting her chance to become impregnated with a now-legal American citizen. So glad they are worrying about the illegals and not our legal citizens. This is sickening. We only need to be quiet a little longer, and they will have our country. We are asses and the people who run our town are incompetent enablers. Yeah, Painesville City and police...just make sure all those illegals are doing fine.

Term 4:55, the buses coming to town filled with illegals and unloading at RediGo is not hearsay; it's been going on for years, and many, many people have seen them. If they don't show up tomorrow night, it just means they moved the location, because someone has read here that we are watching for them.

just a hunch, It might be workers on a work visa traveling to places that take a few hours to get to and from, these employers are required to provide the transportation to the jobsites in order to qualify for the workers to get the visas, this if it is happening might be totally legit, if you watch the clasifieds in febuary through april you will see massive job postings for this

6:49 here. I have to say I'm impressed. The email I sent my councilman (which was nice, and polite, by the way, I do believe you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar, as the saying goes) got forwarded to the city manager and the police department, and I received a very satisfactory response. Not only did an officer visit the house, there will be an extra watch on it for two weeks to make sure they're behaving. I must say, it was quiet the past two nights. I feel a whole lot better and I won't be shy about taking video, photos, emailing, and calling from now on. Maybe we CAN clean this crap up.

I agree with the other post, if we are vigilant with the small stuff, stay strong and keep cleaning this town up we may carry on to the big stuff that needs our attention too. Rules, laws and ordinances are there for a reason people - lets follow through with them.
