"HEARD IT THROUGTH THE GRAPEVINE" marvin gaye

Well, at least we can now hear what happened at Monday nights council meeting. Thanks, Tara. I wonder if your employer's really want the resident's to know what's going on?

Yes  Tower 2319 is back home after a three month hiatus. Firefighters agreed to 0% wage hike this year with a wage reopener in 2015.

The city has four more homes to be demolished, one will have to wait for planning commission approval. It's in the Mentor Ave. Historical District.

The rezoning of the homes on Barnes Ave. will have a hearing at the 10/20/ 14 meeting. The street that only exists on paper?

Now the main attraction Monday night seems to have been the city seeking to "sell" the two cemeteries. I really don't see this happening but it deserves scrutiny by Painesville residents. If it was sold, plots, as well as grave openings would see a dramatic price increase. Maybe a better solution would be to lease the operation out to a private contractor and let the city keep the cemeteries. The city manager numbers were the cost of the cemeteries since 2011 was $1,477,000.00 with revenue of $573,000.00 with the general fund having to bear $900,000.00 in costs. I guess what would be saved in total manpower, office, maintenance works if the city wasn't directly in charge of the cemeteries? Tread lightly many Painesville residents have family at either cemetery or both.

The city electric department claim that through September 2014 of this year so far  the city owes AMP-OHIO $473,971.00 in "levelization" costs this on top of paying what 40% higher cost's than the open market? Was this the total or do we owe for 2013 also? My computer tells me levelization isn't even a word? Well Painesville got over 473,000 reasons to disagree.
Some on council still don't see the urgency to act on this.  Painesville's electric only receives 23% of it's power from PSEC. To them I ask what's the difference between drowning in 23 feet of water opposed to 100 feet? Either way you end up at Riverside.

Mrs. DiNallo is still working on her business nuisance law. I believe presently all of her concerns are covered with laws presently on the books.

Everybody was thanked numerous times for doing their jobs. Tom Fitzgerald was excused ...again.

Is the zoning thing for Barnes Ave just a "get your ducks in a row thing" by a developer?
Is it planning ahead so you don't get hammered later?
Whats wrong with this story?

No I believe this is a case of someone trying to finance a house purchase. That whole side of that street in commercial or M2. Now talk about screwed up zoning lets put only these three address's on the east side of the street with homes on the west side of the street. If the city should decide to do this, you will have added non-conforming property that I thought the city was trying to get rid of.

I hope this young lady can DO something about the problem.
I was looking for a contact phone number when I found this.
Illegal Immigration
Painesville, the capital city of Lake County, is known around the state as "Little Tiajuana", and for good reason. In 2005, our Commissioners passed a resolution announcing that from that point on, the Matricula Consular card would be recognized in Lake County as a valid form of identification. U.S. law enforcement officials cite that Matricula Consular cards are issued by Mexican Consulate without checking the authenticity of the applicant's supporting documentation. In testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, the FBI disclosed that the Matricula Consular card is inherently unreliable and highly vulnerable to fraud. The FBI reported that because Mexico lacks a centralized database for their CIDs, they are unable to prevent an individual from receiving multiple CIDs and cannot access information about a CID applicant's identity. An FBI agent said that "Mexican consulates issued CID cards to individuals lacking any proof of identification, as long as they fill out a questionnaire and satisfy the consular official that they are who they claim to be." U.S. Federal and local drug enforcement agents have discovered that numerous foreign narcotics traffickers obtain Matricula Consular cards using aliases and that their use in the United States presents the U.S. with a serious criminal threat. The acceptance of the use of these cards by our Commissioners has put our county in danger.

I was just looking at the on line version of the City Zoning map. Most of the street where Barnes joins Chardon St appears to be B2 classification.
The exact location of Barnes is hard to determine (mostly because of the small size and the fact that Barnes is a street in name only.
There appears to be two lots on the east side that are currently R1 with everything else to the east being M2.This might include Barnes but, again, from the small size, it is hard to tell.
I can tell you that none of these lots would ever be able to hold what is viewed as an R1 home. They might meet the legal definition but they will be a cracker-box palace.
I always say, follow the money trail. I would guess that someone wants to buy (or already owns) the property, will demolish the existing houses and build something really small in their place. They can not build house on the lots if they are zoned M2 because they can't get financing for homes that can't be build on a manufacturing site.
Just a hunch!
Let's see if Council asks the important questions at the public hearing on the 20th.

2:55 Thanks, "we're off to the races"!
How many American's have been behead or eaten by Hispanics, do tell!
Can't let it go even when it's not mentioned?

It needs mentioned, attention and it needs to stop. I could tell you stories about some of our young immigrants in this town that will make your head spin. Work? They don't want to not when there is FREE everything for them and I have to support them. Drugs? Yes. Gangs? Yes. Sickness? Yes. Assimilate? NOT a chance.

5:00 I suggest you start your own blog. Exclusive to why I hate Mexicans in Painesville. Look I respect your opinion but really. I will do pro/con stories about Hispanics in Painesville but I see no rationality in your thinking. Fear?
It would be so easy to start your site. I will even mention how people can get on it.

Please do, then 2:55 can join me and all the other conservatives trying to make a difference. BTW weren't you involved in that grass roots group with Hal? Are you backpedaling now?

Sorry, I accept the idea that if you came here illegally you broke the law.
never a Hal supporter. on this issue.
I soon realized that Democrats (future voters)wanted them here also Republicans wanted them here (cheap labor keeping the price of labor down) All with a lot of talk with no real action or solutions from either side. More of a run and hide action. Look I spent some time with some young Hispanic kids and to be honest there as "American" as any other young person here. Sorry they have assimilated. Many come from good hard working Christian families. If you arrest an illegal for a felony YES they should be deported. I see real hatred from some who comment here and I for one don't want to be associated with them.
Yes the adults need some help, look you don't pee on the side of the house you use the bathroom. It's not easy to accept them and it's not easy for them to understand our culture. Those young Hispanic children will play a big part in this country's future and I believe showing a kind and understanding hand in their youth will payoff in our future. Just my thoughts.
Finally There here and NO ONE has a plan to remove them.

Assimilated? Why are we paying someone to teach a Spanish class for native Spanish speaking children? After all the years and generations this should not be a necessary subject in school. The report card should be better since they have been speaking English since pre-school. This is nonsense.

The anti-amnesty groups, and everyone else in America who is against amnesty and want the illegals out, need to focus in sharply on the anchor baby law. That needs to be changed quickly. It is the biggest draw for illegals to come, and it is the biggest reason we are losing our country. It needs to be the utmost battle cry by everyone until it is fixed.

5:22 O.K. now find the legislators from EITHER party willing to promote this change in the law. You won't find any support. I don't know what you see as worse a politician who wants to do something about the problem. Or one that agrees with you and does nothing?
1:17 Seems like many got here when your boys were in charge. I wonder why? Yes the chickens are coming home to roost... legally. (Now What?)
12:08 Interesting we teach English to English speaking people now what's your point?
We had Spanish classes 50 years ago?
4:00 Do you see your problem?

Americans are so used to the drain on their incomes and this country from the illegals that it is not even mentioned when we talk about our country's or our personal finances. The American people suffer greatly financially because of all the illegals in our country. It all adds up to things being totally different for every legal American than it would be if we did not have these people stealing from us and our country in every way. There is little time to fix it; it is almost too late. If you don't like it and you have been on the sidelines, I urge you to get actively involved today.

This is 1:17, and I'm a Democrat. Not all Democrats are stupid enough to think this invasion, and subsequently losing our country, is just the sweet, humanitarian thing to let them do. Hopefully the rest who didn't get it before get it now before it's too late, and get off their passive, Democratic butts to do something.

3:14 Again find the legislator's to carry this out.
1:48 Calling people stupid usually doesn't make you friends. But you might be to stupid to understand that. See my point?
1:26 I will concede that they keep wages down. Who benefits from that? Many I notice create their own jobs. Sorry, little late to shut the barn doors.

3:55 Please stick to the Painesville Pride. You can't take the truth. You wish me dead over this blog.? Really getting under your skin, Uh?

4:03 What do you mean wish you dead? If you want to die, go ahead, but it's got nothing to do with me. You assume that it's only the Republicans who are smart enough to recognize that the most powerful country in the world is crashing and burning. You stick to your party lines, but I, and many other Democrats know when our country needs us to step up and try to save her from fellow Democrats. And what do you mean, we can't take the truth? Who do you think you are, Jack Nicholson? Getting under my skin? Yep, just like a gnat. You can tell your grandchildren that you not only sat by and let their country go down, but you helped it.

President Obama is allowing 100,000 Haitians in immediately; they don't even have to wait for their visas. They were on waiting lists to come over to join family already here, and he upped them all immediately, and they can come right now. Our government just can't give this country away fast enough. There's 100,000 more that will be on the dole and, of course, they have millions of relatives that will have to come, too, and so on, and so on.

Bye, bye America. It was nice while it lasted.
