" THE WONDER OF YOU" elvis presley

Recently I've read in some of your comment you believe I think I am smarter than you? Nothing could be farther from the truth.

I guess when certain things come up on the blog. you at least keep an open mind on how others view the subject.

Recently someone claimed we must protect the coal miners jobs. Then I heard from someone who's whole family, father, grandfathers uncles, even older cousins worked in the mines who told me the misery of black lung disease, missing fingers, limbs pain from working in coal mines. He claimed if he could close every mine today he would. Two people coming at an issue from two different places.

Now I will ask you some questions think before you answer.

1)  Do you think there would have been a mistrial on first degree murder if  a Black man had fired 10 rounds into a SUV if the four boys inside had been White with cranked-up C&W music?

2) It's a fact the NFL is a non-profit and as such no team, NFL Headquarters pay ZERO in Federal tax. This on Revenue of close to10 billion dollars.

3) The Commissioner of the NFL Rodger Goodell was paid between 29 to 44 million dollars last year, and never carried the ball once?

4) Should people who want and decide to work receive less than if they stayed on public assistance?

5) Do you believe a starting minimum wage of $10.10 raised over a  two year period is excessive?
If you do, should people who work still live in poverty?

6) Large corporations like Walmart, McDonalds that make billions every year. Should the Federal   Government still subsidize their employees due to low wages?

7) Those of you that want illegals out of the country, would you use force to do it? And if so how
much? Would it be worth bloodshed on either side?

8) The Speaker of the House plans no new legislation in Congress until after November. Should we quit paying them until November?

9) What is better for the U.S. economy  1 car costing $500,000 or 20 costing $25,000?

10) Do you believe we should send troops "boots on the ground" to Syria, or the Ukraine? It's called the U.S. Defense Department not the let's put out fires all over the world department.

**********BONUS QUESTION ************

President Obama has to make a decision on the Keystone Pipe Line in the very near future  This project is near and dear to the GOP, with what I've witnessed in the last few weeks it might be 2020 before a Republican reaches the White House. Now should we say barter minimum wage to $10.10 an hour and another year added for unemployment insurance for the President to  O.K. the deal?

Again Know there are no right or wrong answer's just want to know what you think?

Something else to consider a friend of mine who has zero knowledge about  the markets, claimed yesterday that the markets will collapse  soon after the Olympics ends. Why give this a second thought? He told me the same thing after the Olympics in 2008. (which they did) I asked him what the Olympics had to do with finances? Nothing he told me? It's just time.

1) I think we have lost common respect for each other. Black, white, brown, yellow..... but honestly in a courtroom with reversed defendants I believe there would have been a very different verdict.

2.) Well I guess they are going to need the money to address the brain injury law suit...... Honestly, if just the players salaries pay their taxes the federal budget should be flush.

3.) And why? because somebody gave it to him and said he did a good job...... is it right? In my humble opinion...... nope! But then nobody on Wallstreet served any time for the great recession......

4.) That is just stupid ........
5.) I never looked at fast food or big box store as a career. It's what you did for a summer job or after school. Well times have changed....... Didn't Walmart have a food drive for their employees around Christmas? I have a problem with that......
6.) Of course not......
7.) Of course not......
8.) Do you think it would work?
9.) Nice phrasing...... hmmmm ....
10.) There's a whole lot more we can do before we put boots on the ground. Can we please use the UN? The fires are going to get bigger and we don't have a hose big enough. And this goes back to #1..... we have lost respect for one another and no longer come to the table to negotiate. Shoot first, yell later, shoot again....... you can talk your way out or punch your way out.....

1) Depends on the makeup of the jury (racial, ideological), as well as in what state/city the trial took place (a major influence on jury makeup). In other words, if the trial was in Philadelphia or Detroit, the odds of a mistrial are much better than if it was in Birmingham or Salt Lake City.

2) This is as ridiculous as Major League Baseball having an antitrust exemption, but neither will be corrected by Congress any time soon, mostly out of fear of angering owners (aka campaign donors).

3) As long as Goodell continues to land big-money deals with TV networks every time the NFL broadcast rights come up for renewal, the owners will continue to reward him handsomely. Oh, and if he also continues to stay out of the owners' way on certain issues, such as the long-term effects of concussions on players.

4) Depends on the type of public assistance and the circumstances. If it's welfare, no; if it's unemployment, the amount is based on the recipient's former salary, and the recipient had a high-paying job, then it would be reasonable to say "yes" to your question if the recipient decided to take a job paying minimum wage.

5) No.

6) In theory, no; however, if those are the only jobs available in a particular area, and they aren't paying a living wage, the humane thing to do is to partially subsidize workers up to the point where their income is considered enough to live on. I don't blame the workers; the ultimate fault lies with politicians who don't create a climate for investment in those areas that result in good-paying jobs, or coming up with programs that allow such workers, or the unemployed, to go to school and be trained for better-paying jobs.

7) I think illegals should be deported if caught; however, force beyond what is required of ICE agents doing their jobs in a normal capacity is overkill (pun not intended).

8) Yes! If any of us decided not to do our jobs until it was more advantageous to do so months later, we would have no job, much less not be paid.

9) 20 costing $25K.

10) No, and no. We should not be the world's police officers.

#7. Bloodshed? By all rights, I believe there would have been years ago if this had happened, but then none of our earlier generations would have let this happen. Bloodshed now? Of course not. It's as easy as pie. Restate the 14th amendment. It was restated years ago, which that, along with the previous two amnesties, brings us to this problem. We apparently haven't learned yet that there is no end to the illegals, and there never will be as long as we let them take advantage of us and our country. E-Verify so they can't work. Fix the broken ag-worker program to make sure the farmers are covered so we can get the rest out. We don't need bloodshed, and the very mention of it was probably just to get a rise. We just need to tell them to leave, and take a few steps to make sure they do.

Raising the minimum wage will just cause the government in a year or two to raise the definition of "poverty Level" again, as they have numerous times.

Raising the minimum wage is only talked about because it will raise the revenue the government collects from taxes. They will collect more money for a few years, spend it on frivolous waste, then raise the definition of "poverty".

If you study economic history this is an ongoing cycle with the end game being the government gets more money.

3:30 Last year our federal government subsidized our businesses with 63 BILLION in Earned Credit Income. So I guess if holding employers responsible for granting a living wage you and I can continue to pay what employers won't.
9:21 I believe it's only 6 million but this country wants to survive on low wage incomes, and government handouts.Truly the end of a great lifestyle?
