"POLICY OF TRUTH" depeche mode

Well seems like a few people wanted to not repeat the bickering that went on at the last council meeting.

First the council agreed to raise the snow ban tickets to $50.00 I applaud that vote as I believe it won't raise revenue for the city but it will mean safer streets in Painesville. $25.00/$35.00  amounts were also mentioned the vote passed 4/3.

Fire Department expenditures were left on third reading. Now Painesville's share of an "Air Truck" is $60,000 I wonder if anyone has asked to see one? With four communities involved  am I to assume the price will be around $240,000?

The Fire Department also requests a new Ambulance to replace the six year old one the city presently has. This vehicle is equipped with a Ford turbo diesel that was replaced once at around 20,000 miles I remember someone telling the chief and council that motor was junk and they purchased it anyway. Now we want reliable equipment but could we just have a new chassis purchased and remount the body? Or as other nearby communities have purchased units with truck bodies that are larger and can take more abuse than a Ford Econoline? Will this vehicle remain outside like the ambulance and Technical Resue Truck we spent alot of money on?

Immigration letter? I have to wonder why we went down this rabbit hole? Lori DiNallo has the Hispanic communities best intentions at heart I understand her reasoning, when asked if she teamed up with Veronica Dahlberg on the draft of this letter she claimed she had. She lost me there.  I guess no one learned anything from the last letter campaign? Ms. Dahlberg is not an honest broker for the whole   Painesville community. You wonder why nothing was mentioned about border security, a fine, or any responsibility of the illegals well we now know why. Council person Jenkins mentioned this letter is only meant to have lawmakers "poop or get off the pot." Got news for you Katie the Republicans have put this issue on the backburner, Do you really think they want a party war over this issue in an election year? Their not stupid.
If you ,Mrs.DiNallo, Mr. Fodor want to send letters do so. I just can't see you sending a letter signed unanimously or even the majority of Painesville citizens.

As I mentioned to you last night anyone who voted against sending a letter to the Attorney General of Ohio and vote Yes to send this one is a hypocrite for the same reasons you stated for not sending that letter.

That said I see this letter passing 4/5 -2  YES Jenkins, DiNallo, Fodor . NO Deleone, Flock haven't a clue how Fitzgerald or Hach lean. This is only an observation from someone watching from the audience. I do think it will pass. Just to make people feel better.

DiNallo did this to get "in" with the Hispanics to make sure she has their votes for any further political races that she runs. She's no better than any other politician who is willing to sell our country for their own elections. The problem with that thinking, though, is soon Hispanics will hold all the offices in the land. Hispanics vote for, and do for, Hispanics, and that's it. So the very people who are selling out our country to them, will then very soon lose every election to them.

I see no question about it. Fitzgerald and Hach will vote with Lori. They are tight and help each other's campaigns. So the Republican Lori gets her way against the wishes of many legal Painesville residents.

Good point, 11:07. DiNallo is siding with, and helping, people who are not even citizens of this country, and going against the citizens. This issue needs to follow her relentlessly like it does Horvath.

Does anyone have any idea how, or why, an engine in a City owned vehicle needed replacing after only 20,000 miles?? Lack of proper maintenance possibly?

12:14 Every once in awhile a manufacturer comes up with a "lemon" of an engine Chrysler
2.7 engine. Oldsmobile "Quad 4"
Ford Turbo Diesel made for econline line of trucks. It got so bad they were calling then Explodoline at Fed X.
I know one councilman has the service record of this truck which has less than 43,000 and is in constant need of repair.

Glad the ticket price went up. Now maybe Juan will quit parking on the street so the plow can get to where they need to.
You ask the dumbest questions and you know damn well the answers. With only 1 fire station, where should the equipment be put? Im sure opponents of your blog would be glad to answer that one. Duh. This town has overgrown its public facilities and has no money to build anything new.
Immigration, the city has no business being involved. Think back to AZ, they tried to enforce the laws on their books and the Feds came back at them and tried to stop that. Remember? I hope council has a brain and votes against it. I for one will NOT support any council member who does and hopefully they will be looking for a new job. Who is the guy that stood up at council and spoke against this? I didn't get his name and would like to speak to him in person. Congratulate him for having the backbone to say what he did. PS council is not in office to make people feel better they are here to listen to their residents and do what the majority speak for.

9:02 Will that mean we English speaking, legal, Americans will then be a minority? Guess if there has to be a bright side to this mess, that would be it? Then the English speaking employees will be getting all the jobs to teach English in school. They will be needed to subtitle all the signs and packages that in the future will be in Spanish. This country is messed up, throw the illegals OUT.

7:49 I sure ask the dumbest questions. We recently spent close to $500,000 to build a battery building at the light plant so if no batteries why not store those vehicles in that garage. Better yet store the almost new Technical rescue vehicle at a Township station where presently the Fire command Bus is housed? No let them sit outside so they will need to be replaced sooner.

So your solution is for our taxpayer purchased property to be sitting in someone elses city? THats really dumb. As for this battery warehouse, I thought this was already explained at a council meeting? They cannot do this and you should remember what you were told and why. You are just trying to stir the trouble-pot up again. You always have an answer or a solution to others problems but unfortunatly your answers are wrong and your soulutions are impossible to even consider. And if they had proposed what you did you would be first upfront to complain about it.

1:53 The dummy here. Fine spend what $200,000 on equipment let it sit outside and rust and also ask to by more equipment to sit outside. Rent space from electric department if you have to.
I don't have to stir up anything around here it's like taking candy from a baby. BECAUSE no one see's it as their money. Why does equipment have to be replaced at 42,000 miles? Solutions by ANYBODY would be welcomed.

I did not call you a dummy, that's your words not mine. I simply said your thoughts are dumb. You must be getting forgetful too, go back and re-ask those same questions at Council. This time remember what they told you about all that and then report back the whole truth, not just part of it.

Are you speaking of Ted Roesberrys replacement? I got news for you readers...the classified union presidents have always been in the back pocket of administration. A former employee needed union presidents help and he walks in to their meeting discussing a golf game with Dr Hanlon. This has been going on for years and it isn't going to stop until we get a fearless leader in place on the union board. Maybe with new Super and Assist. Super things will be different but I dont hold out much hope. As for the replacement, he was employed at PC, and I believe he went across the river and ran both transportation departments then was hired back to PC a second time as Business Manager. Why could they go without one for a year and found a need to hire someone fulltime?

1:27 You are correct the union guy is a total idiot! He does HELP people that should be let go! will the new Business Manager let him drag him down the rat hole with him? stay tuned lets hope the new super and Assist.super are FEARLESS LEADERS!!! I do think the Assist.super has a BACK BONE lets see? this has been going on for years? TERM maybe monitor these guys!!? all the union presidents
in administration back pocket?

All the past PCS presidents, Keipert, Wheeler, Warner, Keipert have done nothing to help many of their fellow union brothers. They were all in good with Hanlon & Beeler.

To whoever I am looking into your vehicle accident and smoking alllegations? It appears if the school system wants you to use school vehicles and you use your own the school should not be held responsible for what happens? No smoking anywhere on school property means just that.

Since I wasn't in on the conversation between the union rep. and the bus driver or where it took place, again that person although having first ammendment rights also has a right to keep their opinion to themselves. Again the wheels move slow but in the end didn't you vote for the union rep in an election. Do you want a business manager and a union rep at odds?
