VETERANS DAY 2013

Yes with November comes Veterans Day. A day when we remember those that gave from two years or a career or even the sacrifice of their lives to protect all of us as well as this Republic for over two-hundred years.
Go out today and find one and Thank him or her.

This country presently is war weary. We fought a two front World War in the 1940's that lasted less than six years. Now we seem to fight wars without victor's or loser's?
In 2001 we learned that to hurt America you didn't need an aircraft carrier, for that matter not even a standing army. A few box cutter's and boarding passes could somehow manage to kill 3,000 of us and attack the symbols of American capitalism as well as the fortress of the American military.

Since that September morning over twelve years ago we have been at war. We have learned about  water boarding, drones, WMD's.

What we must remember most is the Hellish places and conditions we send our fighting men and women. Yes as a country we can grow weary of war. But none of us should every grow weary of the people who protect us.

Well said.

In other news and maybe you could post it (I didn't see it mentioned) - for the folks in Jenkins' ward, there is a meeting about roads and drainage at Morley Library this Wednesday at 6pm. I was told that other wards are also having meetings but I do not know when/where they are.

In todays News-Herald was a story and picture of a Veterans Day event at Painesville's Elm St. School.
Included with the story was a photograph of two Hispanic boys Luis and Miguel. I know many of you do not like the idea of these two boys living here. Their parents might even hope they would show more loyalty to Mexico. But the fact remains in a decade these two might be asked by this country to defend it. I believe these two boys are as American as any two in town. and I salute them back. The photo can be viewed on N/H website. I'm not trying to change your mind but ask what do you see?

I see children doing what they were instructed to do and following others. Check out the upper grades - Stand or repeat for the Pledge of Allegiance? No!
Most older kids won't comply after elementary school.

Maybe I don't believe you. Could be after these young boys hear how you talk about their mother's and father's calling them everything from freeloaders to out and out thieves. As they go off to the fields and hotels to support there families not as drug mules. Yes even though they are as much citizens as you are your treatment of them might be the biggest reason for not having that lovin feeling for you.

2:11pm, I know what you are saying, but for the most part these people are freeloaders. They may work, but we are paying for their food, their housing, their medical and they are on every Christmas list and aid they can get. So yes, that is an issue. If they don't like to hear well that's just too bad. We don't need people here that we have to support to the extent that we have to support them.

I'm with 4:58. Show us your proof?
These people came here to make a better living for their family. Now who's fault is it? Them or the people that employe them?
I have been to the high school and can't say I've seen what your telling us. But then again if I was in there place I might not think to highly about you.
First you welcome them and then you blame them.
