"LA BAMBA" richie havens

Went to a very different meeting Tuesday evening on St. Clair St. Seems Council member DiNallo, Hach, Flock and Fodor were invited to the monthly HOLA meeting. All but Mr. Fodor attended.

Now first off there were over 120 adults present at the meeting normal for the monthly meeting. The only time we can get that many people at a meeting is if there is a scandal at one of the schools.

The purpose of the meeting was to inform council members of the plight of deportation of many members of families in the Painesville area. As you can imagine there were some heart wrenching stories told, and we can deal with those in a future post.

Now first Mrs. DiNallo introduced herself and proceeded to tell the audience she was teaming up with Ms. Dahlberg to present a resolution to Painesville council. ( I seem to remember something of this nature in the past) Mrs. DiNallo if you want to pass a resolution put it in front of council with no outside help.

Mr. Hach mentioned his monthly block watch meetings, as well as other meeting in his Ward.

Than Mr. Flock, who I must say had reached a conclusion that these people at the meeting had a misunderstanding about the powers as well as duties of a city councilperson. First he explained that the only jurisdiction  that council members had was passing and enforcing city ordinances. Seems some of these people believe they have an input with the police on who the police can and cannot detain.
Mr. Flock explained the immigration problem as well as solution has to come from the Federal government and he would forward these letters to our representatives in the Congress as well as the Senate. He ended his presentation with the JFK quote, "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." He also made them aware of his monthly meeting at Elm St. and welcomed them to attend as well as city council meetings on the first and third Monday's of the month. Explaining to them to get involved in this community.

He was well received as well as the other two council members in attendance. No shouting demands or disrespect was shown.

Finally our new school superintendent  Me. Shepard was at the meeting and explained speaking in Spanish, how important an education was to their children, and how their children were his children also.

This may  open a new dialogue between our newest members to the community of Painesville. Now if we can only control the people who somehow believe they will "Self-Deport," as well as the people who "Demand Rights" for these people , we might get somewhere.

I have to believe that the only solution to this problem is our newest residents must win over the hearts and minds of this community.

Seems Ms. Dahlberg couldn't attend this meeting?  Leaving me feeling very fortunate.

Mrs.Dinallo should only speak for herself as not the majority of legal painesville residents feel the same way, If an illegal gets deported they are more than welcome to take their families with them, rest of council be careful what you vote for as hopefully voters will be watching, although after this past election I think most voters have their heads up their fannies

5:46 Well the majority of legal voting Painesville residents just re-elected her.
Couldn't we just wait and see what she proposes until we bring the daggers out?

Me? I don't expect much negative comment because at a council meeting you have to show your face, and give a name as well as an address.
So most negative comments will show up Anonymous on this site.

The last time council people (Horvath and Delamotte)did something about illegal immigration, they brought us a half a town worth of illegals. Now we have 40% of our elementary school that is Hispanic, and the illegal Hispanic population is growing daily. They spoke for the whole town, although the whole town (the legal residents, anyway), did not agree with them. If DiNallo wants to give them anything, she can give them her own home and property, and leave this town and country out of it.

I believe the only reason DiNallo got voted back in was because the only other choice was Becks, and anybody would be better than Becks.

What resolution could she possibly pass with the help of Dahlberg that is not AGAINST THE LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?

Just one more politician willing to give away our country for votes. We all know she has ambitions beyond Painesville City Council.

One word: RECALL.

All I would suggest to Mrs. DiNallo is that Ms. Dahlberg is not an honest broker.

She should remind Ms. Dahlberg of the Fathers Day Rally (2007) on Veterans Square when she invited Baldmar Velazquez whose speech included we are people indigenous to this land and we come back to reclaim it. All to the applause of the crowd and Ms.Dahlberg.

Less not forget another rally that year in May when her group marched from St. Mary's to the square and back to the church with not even asking for permit from the city.
I only remember that due to many Mexican flags waved that day, and small children dragging the American flag on the ground. Let's hope they did this because they were tired and didn't know better.
To be honest Mrs. DiNallo Ms. Dahlberg has left many in town with a bad taste and unless her views have changed I see little support in this community. That is a shame because many of these Hispanic people deserve better.

Ask not what Veronica can do for you but what you better do for Veronica.

Back to the resolution will it only be redundent? Sign all the resolutions you want this must be voted on in Washington D.C. not in Painesville courtroom #1Afterall we are in this with many other communities? Should we speak for all of them? Mrs. DiNallo
Then again lets listen...
My hope that this issue can be resolved for the betterment of all of us.
My problem with all this is one person.

So I guess your problem isn't with the Mexicans but their leader? Lame

Maybe I should have voted Becks. I thought anything is better than her, but then again, Becks wouldn't be introducing legislation to aid the illegals and be befriending Veronica Dahlberg. Lori, you are a disgrace and a disappointment. You selling out our city for future votes. Well, you lost mine and my family's votes.

Send them back
COD and with no return on them
I hate this town, they get away with everything.
Show me a cop that will stop them from making noise, none in Painesville.

Okay, so council is going to waste their time and energy once again on an issue they have no power to change. Just more of the same. What a waste of time and money, as we do PAY these council people for nothing anyway. I'm done. I give up on Painesville. Just don't care anymore.

4:24 You know the Indians should have let the Pilgrims stave.

8:53: Maybe so...how did that work out for those Indians?

I didn't say starve them, I said send them home. They all do have homes, and they should be there.

8:53: I have been told several times by Mexicans that they are the better Americans, and that America is supposed to belong to them. They say they are here to take it back. If you are insinuating that same thought, and thinking the same thing, I could point out something to you.

First of all, if you think that if Mexicans had populated this land, it would have been better for Mexicans, think again. If that had been the case, then this land would just be an extension of Mexico. And you see what you all have done in Mexico. Then what? Do you think this land would be like it is now so your people could come usurp it and bleed it dry? Do you think it would be a land where your people could come and trespass and profit off, and take from, the people who made this the nation that it is? The answer is no, because it would just be an extension of Mexico, and the Mexicans would then be looking for another country to go take advantage of, and to demand rights from.

So really, don't act like this land or country would be anything like it is now if the Mexicans had populated it.

But 8:53 is right about one thing. We had better learn a lesson from what happened to the Indians if we don't want to lose this land to the Mexicans now.

3:39 What Mexicans? Did they share their attack plan too?
You make the Mexicans sound like the Borg in Star Trek?

9:42: "Did they share their attack plan, too?"

Are you kidding me? What?...are you waiting for the first shots to be fired?! You're funny. Don't look now, but your country is almost gone in probably the quietest take-over in history. We have soldiers who are still dying all over the world to protect us here at home in America, while the citizens sit by and let the country slip away. Meanwhile, the government is giving it away with both hands, including here in our own city.

Why don't you take a walk around town and take a good look. You could check out the fact that at least 40% of the young children in this city are Hispanic. Then go check out the rest of the country, and see how it is faring. You could then come home and make a phone call, but be sure to press "1 for English" first.

Don't look now, but your country is almost lost. While you wait like a lobster in the pot for the first shot to be fired, your country, as you have know it, is almost dead.
