"FOURTH OF JULY 2013"
Lets give the politics of Painesville a rest. Let our new leaders a few days to establish themselves in 'Our Town'.
Let's all enjoy our Holiday'
America (Poem 1893) (excerpt)
God shed his grace on thee
'Til selfish gain no longer stain
The banner of the Free.
O' beautiful for halcyon skies
For amber wave's of grain
Above the enameled plain
America America
God shed his grace on thee
Til Souls wax fair as earth and air
and music-hearted sea!
Yes this poem is where the song originated. It seems that it gains it's highest priority when this country is in a strife of some kind. We should remember it in good times as well as bad.
Please enjoy a safe and happy fourth of July

It looks like the media might finally be looking into the AMP deal.

5:45 Yes everything takes time.
Painesville is not nearly in as bad a shape as some of the mentioned cities.
My only question is why did our Professionals follow these Experts? And still do?
We have another 15 million dollar contract with AMP-OHIO starting in 2015. This along with Prairie State.
I guess the statement "you can take twenty years to build a good reputation and can ruin it in five minutes"
Still haven't heard anything from our Professionals?
Seems the power plant is on line again today? More guesstimation?
AMP has been holding several meetings with communities involved in PRAIRIE STATE
" How to tell your residents about raising utility costs "
How to SPIN IT and lie
We got 15 million in a fund. Why do you have to raise anything?
Remember that could be the use of the money in the electric fund. People keep your eye's on the 'Power Factor'
Happy Fourth of July! Reading the news-less herald this morning they finally figured out Painesville-Concord purchased a 22 year old fire truck? Two months later I guess is better than never?
9:14 Yes I read the article. I can only imagine how residents in the two communities that weren't aware of the purchase realized that they just spent $100,000 on a vehicle built in 1991?
That's really not the problem. That clause in the contract concerning 'replacement duties' should be viewed very carefully by our council members. That way we all understand what that means.
Along what it might mean to our finances in the future.
On another note, that same paper called me this morning July 4,2013 using my first name and telling me the editor wanted to give me a special offer. I politely declined ( I usually hang up) Holiday I guess? She asked me what was holding me back? Couldn't resist, "You have a lousy newspaper!" and hug up.
My granddaughter just shook her head. Hey, it's better than what I usually tell them. That makes them feel bad. "Sorry, I'm blind.!"
She left the room mumbling something.
Great news, Penny from Big Bang Theory is dating the NEW Superman!
What great episodes this could make.
Seems to high ranking city lunch buds for years now have found new lunch partners and no longer speak to each other? Trouble under the golden dome?
Do tell 1:22. Please expand on your comment and spill it. Names and all. Else why post something so vague?
6:57 Spill what? If a candidate doesn't sign the book there is a good chance until they return their petitions people might not know who's running for office. Why post something so vague? Because the process is vague.
Keep up please... 6:57 my comment was for 1:22 and the lunch post. Nothing to do with anything of yours less you posted it and can fill in the names they left out.
11:13 I thought you were asking me why I was vague about other candidates taking petitions out.
I have no idea who going to lunch with who.
Since everything electrical is here.
Anyone want to hazard a guess what Painesville spent last month from power purchased from Prairie State Energy Campus last month? The going rate for purchasing power off the grid was less than $45.00 MW. We paid AMP-OHIO?
a) $55.00
b) $65.00
c) $95.00
d) $125.00
e) $150.00
I am sure Galion can answer this if
they are still not in shock?
This is what happens when the 'Brains' of the outfit get involved.
Forget about the attorney general, call the F.B.I. there has been a crime committed.
Prairie State claims to 'have problems' Well don't let your problems become mine. Sorry council has.
This is the stuff your never told.
Again Watch your 'Power Factor'
Can anyone on city council, let us know the rate we paid, to answer post 2:18??
well I've asked and never get a good clear answer. I not sure of this (but someone in the administration) could explain it all to us, if they wanted too?
9MW obligated from Prairie State Energy Campus. $125.00 was the correct answer.
$125.00 X 9 X 24 hour equals $1,125 times 24 hours equals $15,700.00 per day? This is as close as I can come.
If I'm wrong PLEASE PLEASE correct me. This is how I believe it was explained to me.
Now the spot market say average $50.00 a day high and low. would cost $10,800.00 Five thousand less per day.
Over a year that comes to almost 2 million dollars extra a year.
Again I'm not an expert and if the city would care to correct me. I'm all for it.
Still no answer to the lunch bunch comment from 11:22?
Maybe our finance director could grace council with a couple pie charts, graphs and stick figure drawings to explain the power factor........ I don't think anyone understands the power factor structure currently on our bills.
6:02 My spy's 'UTGD' tell me there has been a falling out between the assistant city manager and the finance director? no longer lunch buddy's.
Seems Joe Hada and Rita McMahon still are. Having breakfast at a local eatery Monday.
6:55 You know where they will tell you to stick that stick figure, right?
CONFUCIUS SAY, Something WONG. This city council, has let the administration, spend the general fund dollars, as they wish. Where IS MR. TIBBITS is he running to change the spending. Thank goodness MR.MURPHY is trying.
