Some of you supporters of the former city manager better clean up your language if you want your comments published on the the blog.
First off I hold no "hatred" towards her. I have learned a simple fact, if you don't ask all, as well as the right question she never offered you the complete answer.
It's like asking your teenager where there going. To the movies they answer. Then you must ask with who,where the movie is playing, how are you getting there, as well as the name of the movie. This council and residents seemed to be content with "to the movies"
I have learned know the answer before you ask the question and then you can verify the answer.
Here is an example:
RESOLUTION NO. 18-11 AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT,
INCLUDING ANY AND ALL ENSUING CHANGE ORDERS, FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A BUILDING FOR THE VANADIUM REDOX
BATTERY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
was given first reading.
Ms. McMahon explained included as part of the grant from the U.S. Department of Energy for the
Vanadium Redox Battery was the provision that the City construct the building in which the demonstration project will be installed. The prototype of the battery is currently being tested and it is expected to be moved to larger scale production this summer. The first phase of the battery will be ready for installation by early fall. The proposed building will be located behind the current plant adjacent to the CSX railroad tracks. It will be immediately to the west of the current pole building behind the plant. The building will be a manufactured steel building of approximately 4,000 square feet. This item was included in the 2011 budget at $500,000.
Mr. Hach asked if the project comes in at a lower price we can use the money?
Ms. McMahon replied this is just an estimate. The project will be bid out?
Mr. Flock asked what are the dimensions of the battery?
Ms. McMahon replied they are 2x2 foot stacks. Each battery is made up of 45-60 stacks. The entire battery is about 30 feet long.
I question the city last week when we can expect this project to start? Their answer. The GRANT has been used for research and development costs. They are seeking additional funding to move into production of a 1MW battery. My guess this council as well as residents all believed the GRANT would include a functioning battery to operate in the building by now. I believe and I hope I'm wrong we just built a 50' tall building to park trucks in? Again we didn't ask the right questions. The list goes on if you want more examples I will post them.

When it comes to Rita the devil is in the details.
Council sat there year after year and bought it all.
It never even worked to ask the right questions of McMahon. She just evaded and lied and lied, while she walked us into one bad deal after the other. If she didn't know they were bad deals, there would have been no need for her to be evasive and lie. I think she knew all about every bad deal she got us into, which makes me ask what was in it for her?...know what I mean?
So when you and company failed to ask questions; you blame her for not answering something you never asked? Makes no sense to me. You ask...they answer...but you didn't ask all the right questions so I think you'd wrong for not doing your homework and asking all the right questions. Correct?
It's was her responsibility to have and give this information to council. Not just what she might want to tell them about.
Homework, Most things voted on in Painesville first reach council on Friday nite and voted on Monday nite. Due to some emergency or deadline.
The city shouldn't be run like a quiz show.
And McMahon WAS asked all the right questions time and time again, but always -- no matter how hard she was pressed for the truth -- evaded and lied. And Hada was right there doing the same thing. Let's not blame it on the chickens that the fox ate them, 5:49 -- that's a ridiculous stance to take.
I cannot believe we are not rid of this woman already. I mean, get out of here, McMahon. Please. Get out.

I guess they really believe that fact or they don't want to admit to a mistake.
Everytime I run into those people who challenge me I ask them to name three things in her tenure that improved the quality of life for the residents of Painesville?
I do the same when asked about Joe Hada.
These are not mean questions just questions.

Painesville leaders are drinking Galion water ... town is falling apart and everyone doing a great job.
Interesting thing in Galion just discovered, our city manager has a 15,000 salary raise this past year .. despite city council saying NO to it. Several residents demanded the W2's under freedom of information .. they stemmed and stalled and were finally threatened with the state of Ohio forcing them .. they gave them up and voila ... interesting also that just before this .. the city finance director just announced she was up and quitting and walked away fron a 75 K + year job.
Rumor has it our city manager is selling the city salt supply to private snow plow contractors and pocketing the cash. The city goes through 300% more salt than nearby same size communities, yet the streets are a mess and never cleaned ... video evidence coming ... should be on Columbus news soon .. they should just rent a home here and save gas money.. they are up here now 2 or 3 times a week with all the various scandals going on.
