"DANCING IN THE DARK"

You have to wonder about what goes on in Council's Executive Sessions? Sometimes I think its done so everyone is held in silence with a "I can't comment on that."
The city is in negotiations with some unions about contracts coming due. The city with a Law Director, Assistant Law Director, and a Human Resourse Director that also holds a Law Degree, why the City Manager than hires a $300.00 an hour law firm to tell some clerks they don't have any money for pay increases?
Pay your electric bills people, Someone with the city should be held accountable about the electric meters installed at Airfoil reading only about a third of the electricity thay have used. Guessing about $100,000 loss. I'm starting to understand why they moved here.

I can only hope the city realizes what lies you spread and stops this B.S. or sues you.

Sometimes the 4 have to shutup the other 3 or it takes longer to make bad things go away. Do you think they will ever figure it out?

I think this is great, Term is now going to smear the names of the businesses in town without knowing any facts.
This should be interesting, private business doesn't have the legal constraints a City does, I hope they go after Term with every high paid Corporate lawyer they employ.

Maybe I'll look up the the people that run those places and e mail them this link.

Then the city should have an open investigation Dave, the problem I'm talking about was found out after the meter was read incorrectly. Maybe thats how they found out they had a problem?

Why does the city need an outside Law Firm like Buckingham, Doolittle&Burroughs to act city attorneys if she has three of them around ? Are they incompetent?
How much have we spent with them in the last 5 years? I see them at City Hall all the time.

Who did you smear? Dave if it was just a wrong meter reading you would correct it next month. Thats why the city cut them a check. Now the city realizes the meters were installed incorrectly and God knows how much money was lost? Term keep up with letting the people know know incompetent the cityis being run on our tax dollars. While your at it check the arrears on 215E.Jackson St.from before it was the Post Office. Thanks alphagirl its nice to know more than us are getting screwed.

I have a hard time understanding why people on this site continually attack the City Manager. She is an employee like all of us and comes to work and does what she thinks she should to get the job done.

When you go to work you do what you think is right to get your job done, if the boss is OK with it and doesn't give you guidance to do it differently then you must assume you are doing a good job.

So, if the City Manager is doing a bad job why hasn't her boss "City Council" started steering her in a different direction?

As long as we continue to elect these same council people year after year (People must be starting to believe Council is an appointment for life job) we will continue to have the same results.

Keep electing school teachers, professional students, piano tuners, and non profit managers and you will never see this city move forward.

"Keep electing school teachers, professional students, piano tuners, and non profit managers and you will never see this city move forward."

I am assuming you would like to see someone elected who has an education in city government?
My response is show me the candidate if you want me to elect someone else.

Who has run against the old guard on council?
and why would you?

You hit the nail on the head when you point out who is on council but I don't see anyone standing in the wings wanting to run for a seat.

a bit depressing in this voters opinion.

very few on council have an understanding of how a city runs or even who is working for whom.

Many qualified individuals cannot afford the cost of an honest election. Unless you have the Hada connections, you go broke. And the dirt that the current council throws at candidates....well, who would want to put themselves through that.

I knew when I started this blog. and when I spoke about issues at council meeting. Every once in a while you had to able to take a punch. No problem, Being called out by one of Painesville's Elitest, big deal. I'll comment on Mondays meeting after I view it on T.V. The News-Herald seems to think not only do I want to save LakeEast but also Harvey? I don't even remember bringing the school up. The News-Herald prints what they hear, not what you say. It seemed to me there were alot of people complaining Monday night about numerous items. I'll have to watch.

"And the dirt that the current council throws at candidates"

First response: Some candidates are dirty on their own.
Second Response: The "dirt" council puts out is nothing in comparison to the smears and falsities you see on this site.

so who is the candidate who is qualified then? who should I vote for and why?
And don't respond with the negative "don't vote for ____" Prove everyone wrong and post something in the positive for once.

Hey Term,
Talked with some people today, they have to move out of there apartments, they were giving 60 days to get out, so Lake Erie students can move in, some have lived there for more then 10 years, they live at the Highland Apartments on High St.next to Homested I.
one more of Randi Turner's deals with LEC,
7 year lease from LEC,
with all of the places that LEC rents, they wont have to build on the High School prop. for 7 to 10 years.

At March 18, 2009 at 3:40 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Anonymous Joe, He showed me. I couldn't eat or sleep last night.

With the cost of going to LEC they are going to want state of art buildings to house their students.

First I feel mad for all the people thast have to move because of the deal struk between LEC and Highland Apt. There are many drawbacks to renting along with a lot of plus thing. You don't own the property, while I don't agree with all of policys and I do not know Randi Turner personally but from what I've seen she is a plus for Painesville. We probably could use more people willing to invest in Painesville. That said, has any residents contacted the city to see if they can help you find new places to live in town? Who is your councilman has he or she been notified? Everyone cooperating probably could make this process easier on everyone.

Last fall I was told by a city councilman to come to a meeting to passd the Millstone Condominium resolution so my family could move on. Everyone seems to have there FEMA money and loans but the people that lived down there. What is the holdup? Can one person hold this up? Please will the people who run this city let me and the rest of us move on.
Thank-You

Dave, Yes it was the reader misreading the meter BUT the meters were installed incorrectly. The C.T. were only reading one-third of the actual useage. The meters were installed on 05/08/08 How much money did the city lose? Who is held resposible for this.
I'm waiting for the law suit?
