LAID BACK COUNCIL MEETING

Monday nights council meeting was pretty laid back. One resident complained about selective code enforcement, very interesting.Residents in Heisley Park complained about flooded basements. Welcome to town. City Manager assured everyone investments were safe and even paying dividends.
On a comment from the manager she explained Mentor Ave.was scheduled for new pavement next year. ODOT has suggested to the city that they make Mentor Ave. 3 lanes one in each direction and a center turning lane. The State felt this would make traffic flow better. Hal Lerner was the ony council person with a comment at the end of the meeting.

If the complaint was interesting about selective code enforcement what was it? Care you expand a little?
What was Hal Lerner's comment?
Did Hal Werner say anything?
What was his comment? Haven't heard much about him recently what did he have to say?

Please watch ch.12 tonight at 7:30. When you sit behind a speaker its hard to understand everything thats said. It was about house numbers, a horse trailer, and Parkview Apt. This person made alot of sense. After the meeting I did think about past meetings and Meridan Ave. Grand River Ave. Parkview Dr. all are in ward 2. Does it mean anything?

I think that traffic would flow better if the area had some updates. Of course then there is the time frame on getting it done and I would really have to focus on the positive outcome for that one. I hope that they come to a conclusion that makes sense and is worth the trouble. JT

I wonder how you would get out of a side street it seemed Mentor Ave. slowed way down when you crossed the tracks, I really don't want to get caught behind a Laketram Bus, council people give this some thought please.

Another giant conspiracy? Question was, does it mean anything? I am ashamed to live in a city that punishes its citizens to shut them up. Thats what the citation was about. Time for a change.

The city won't address real problems so they try to justify themselves by going after stuff no ome cares about. These people are frauds.

I am sure that they would bridge the side streets just like they did west of the City, during that project. They did a decent job of keeping the traffic flowing, although at times it seemed slow. Seems like it is coming to a close out there soon and I can't wait to see what it looks like. Mentor Ave. could surely benefit from such an update also. Painful yes, but in the end, much safer roads. Reading the front page of the News Herald this morning & noticing Painesville is home base to three of the business linked to the ODOT mess I have to question why. Yes Chagrin Falls is mentioned, Chesterland and even Mentor. And where in all this mess is the County Engineer's office; who must work closely with ODOT within the boundries of Lake County?

Are we a harbor city for corruption? We have our fair share of drug traffic, illegal population and now political corruption.......... Why?

This is the county seat of Lake County. We have the sheriff's dept, FBI office, city police and probably a few other agencies I am not aware of. So why would these business decide to be here? Why the drug business here? Why not the back cornfields of Perry or Madison?

If you had a legitimate business would you set up shop here? Yes Airfoils came here after a basket full of promises were laid before them.

Lake Erie Colleges enrollment is up 12.5%, top in the state. Are they in such a bubble they are not concerned with the welfare of the rest of the community or it's image?

Just questions to ponder over coffee..........

They are paving Mentor Ave. next year???????
We have been waiting for two years for the Main Street hill to be paved! They paved Grand River Ave and the other side street but not the hill.
I called the Road Dept months ago and they laughed and said the hill would be paved this fall.
Judging by the frost on my back roof this morning is ain't look'n good for the Main St. Hill or the suspension on my vehicle.
They just patched the holes again and if you're coming up the hill better have four wheel drive, what a mess.
Thanks Hal for looking out for Ward 2!

"negative and insulting". I've been called much worse and left it up. The only negative thing that I noticed was that two meeting in a row residents from his ward 4 came to a council meeting and I do not recall Paul asking a question or making a comment, he might have I just dont remember, Paul might just be a quiet person.

The city lost ZERO on investments and even made money? Show me written proof everyone else lost money but not us? Please show proof. Miss. Rita might be telling a tale out of school. I'm not buying it.

wow them are some nice sidewalks down in hal's ward.

At October 24, 2008 at 6:58 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Watched the council meeting tonight and yes the city administration is getting very selective. A lesson to be learned here, dont complain or Rita sends her gestapo for a visit. How petty these pillars of community are. They will not do anything about Parkview Apt. or the house on State St. but they have time for this B.S. Paul Hach doesn't even know the other people were in his ward. Paul at least look like you know whats going on.

for anonymous with the sidewalk comment, home owners pay for their own sidewalks, I'm in Hal's ward and replaced mine. If you are a home owner and feel like you shouldn't have to fix your sidewalk your just part of the problem in this city.

Paul should check his own ward, he has a few N.State St.houses, like the one on the corner of Grove and Jackson, no permits ?
How can you rip put a bathroom and not get a permit, or for all the other work that we see going on there ?

What is the deal Term.
You don't want to do this here do you ?
You will loose the people that want to tell it like it is, you afraid of something.

We think that is where they meant, We saw them carry in a new furnace the other day,
guess they don't need permits ?

Over the past 22 months were there any political comments about who would be the next president. By the way congratulations to President Elect Barack Obama.
