"BRAGGING" ABOUT PAINESVILLE !

People crying in Painesville, front page Newsless-Herald. No and not tears of "JOY". Seems only in Painesville will a Priest stiok it to you! There seems to be a pattern here. Just to cheer me up lets see how many of you find things in town you brag about when your with friends and relatives who don't live here. I need some good answers we have a 40th class reunion this August and I want to explain why I'm still here.

Terminator1, cannot think of anything to brag about in the City of "NO Hope". How can anyone brag when the entire city agenda revolves around the feathering/bolstering of one individual's resume. A resume that this person never had when hired by council. An agenda, that has shown no progress or dedication to all of us that pay their monthly and bi-weekly paychecks.
How can anyone brag about double standard behavior, twisted words/promises, lack of service, invitations to hear what the residents have to say and then are cut-off at the pass before they can finish.
No one can ever brag about the "perception" that outsiders have of this city. We can only begin to start some bragging when the "house" is cleaned-out and cleansed, and the "we the people" FORCE the turning direction.

WELL HOW ABOUT OUR WATER PARK FOR THE KIDS? THE COMMUNITY CENTER THAT IS ENVIED BY ALL THE OTHER CITIES? THE STATE OF THE ART SENIOR CENTER THAT JUST OPENED? THE PUBLIC GOLF COURSE? THE SEWERS THAT WORK? THE FIRE HYDRANTS THAT FLOW WATER? THE RIGHT TO SAY WE PAY MORE TO GET LESS THAN EVERYONE ELSE IE. SALARIES PAYED IN THIS CITY. OH YES! OUR NEW SCHOOLS THAT WILL FIX THE EDUCATION PROBLEMS IN TOWN... YOU THINK

I wish I could say I was proud of the graduation ceremony last night. I was proud of my child, but the ceremony is so sad. First of all, it was disgusting to look around at all those that sat through the National Anthem. You can figure out who those were. Then all the loud hooting and hollering so that you couldn't hear the kids names being called. And all the babies in attendance. I wonder how many had mama's and papas in the graduating class. And you shouldn't bring a baby or young child to a ceremony like this that is going to cry and that is all we can hear on the video cameras. People in this city have no consideration any more. Sure makes you feel proud of the 'ville, doesn't it?

We do have the river walk down at rec park. Of course it would be much nicer if I didn't see those giant brown beer bottles strewn around and stuck in the crooks of trees.

These are all great and funny, but really do we have anything to be proud of?

Who wouldn't stand for the National Anthem? Whats wrong with a least asking people to respect this country? If I see a tape with people not standing I will go off on Hanlon and the rest of the other clowns. We pay for people who shouldnt be here and this is what we get.

We can brag that we are within driving/walking distance of the township and all it has to offer.

got a Painesville Township Trustee Notes in my mailbox the other day. Think I need to move or have the Township annex my property back.

They are having Curbside Brush Pick up June 9th...... wow somebody has a brain!

They have three, count them three recycling centers.

Free Appliance pickup and metal recycling.

Brush and Branch Drop off on Wed. & Sat. at the Service Garage. They offer this so homeowners don't put yard waste, grass clippings or other debris in drainage ditches, or storm sewers. Bloody
Brilliant!

and their zoning dept processed 82 permits as of April 28th
New Dwellings 9
Multi family dwellings 2
Commercial 2
Industrial 2
Zoning Use & Occupancy 11
Fences 16
Signs 12
Pools 3
Residential additions 3
Accessory buildings 8
Alterations 1

and so it goes in the Township.......... amazed

Who says there are no gangs in Painesville? They better start using that $75,000 grant LaTourette got for us to fight gangs. It was pretty hot on Prospect Street Sunday night with two gangs of color comprised of about 80 people filling the street and blocking traffic and lots of fist fights. Several police cars and many got arrested and put into a police van. It is going to be a long hot summer in the "ville.

Yes, I can confirm. At least 60 people lined both sides of street. They were people of color as stated above. Lots of screaming and yelling. Saw at least 1 fight but didn't want to get stuck in the middle or worse so we just got out of the area. At least 5 police cars came from the west side of the ruckus. It seemed to be in the area of the post office near the Prospect St. and Owega St intersection.

Yes, I saw this too. Stated above, lots of screaming and fists flying. Several police cars, and at least a few were arrested. At least they were put in a police van. Had to be at least 60-80 people. A good portion of the street by the post office was filled and the surrounding yards. Thought we were in for a major race riot.

Well I did some checking too and this story is true. I think Painesville in for a long hot summer of diversity.Prospect St. seems for some reason to be ground zero. TERM>>

I found it a bit troubling when asked of Gary Smith at Monday's council what he knew of this event. His reply was what incident. We obviously have no police cars working in this area.Hookers and gang fights.Sounds like another good reason to move to Painesvikke.
