"ALL I HAVE TO DO IS DREAM" everly brothers

Only trouble is gee whiz
I'm dreamin' my life away

Planning Commission Meeting tonight;

Extension Request - REFUSAL NO. 2295 CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT REQUEST

Applicant: Veronica Dahlberg on behalf of HOLA Ohio LLC.

Location: 265 North State Street

Well unless she figures out how to get those two tanks out of that building (they don't fit through the door) This story will be continued forever or until the building collapses on it's own.

Will someone please take the shovel out of our city manager's hand, please!

Seems a story in the News-Herald she is in the process of "educating" city council on the Mexican community.
Look that 413 policy somehow managed to pretty much upset everyone on both sides of the issue now is she really gong to take another bite at that apple? Last council work session there was a gentleman there with a video camera and many items were mentioned, I just hope that this pending lawsuit doesn't cost us some serious cash. Sometimes the best thing to do is just move on.

Another story this week in the News-Herald was funding for the "Shoppe In The City" has ended and the business will close. now the cause of this business to provide jobs for these people is  a good idea. The only problem is businesses such as these cannot make Downtown Painesville vibrant again. Let's face it the anchor store downtown is Joughins Hardware, period. The new store doing what seems to be fairly well is the Dollar Tree Store. I expect to see more funding for DPO in next years budget. Here's an idea, council people could donate their salaries to DPO! Never has so much been spent for so little results.

Last Night was Hispanic Heritage Night at Harvey High School  that should upset some of you good people, right?

What lawsuit?

And, yeah, we really need educating on the Mexican community in our city. My house is now worth about $20,000, thanks to all the illegals. What's the topic of the speech that is to educate us, "1,000 ways to attempt to sugar coat how the Mexicans and the rest of the illegals are taking down your country?" Or maybe "How the Mexicans threatened to take away our one-language country, and then did?" or "How the Mexicans in Painesville can break the laws, but how no legal citizens can?" No thanks. I think I've had all the education I can handle. Do we still have the 50% policy in our schools that is taking down our education system in Painesville? If so, maybe they could talk about that.

Painesville made the Channel 8 news this morning!! Kicking it with Kenny
Harvey Red Raiders Marching Band performed on channel 8 in front of the Great Lakes Science Center. They noted that the band has grown from 28 a few years ago to over 100 members. Yes you've heard it hear on the blog Painesville HS students and instructors have exceled and showed one of the great things about Painesville
Positive Painesville.

4:32 The band director has made a very good impression on students playing an instrument, he should be congratulated as well as the students over the time and effort they have put into this.
3:51 There going to educate council?
The lawsuit two people brought on the city for having Policy 413 in private and not open to the public. Bad idea.
3:52 I want the law followed and they should be removed! How do we know the ground hasn't been contaminated? But then government has two sets of rules one for the general public and another themselves.

I was told once that the Shoppe in the City did about $25.00 worth of business a day. And that store on Main St. Unique Like Me a little bit better.

I don,t know where your house is but, mine has gained value and I notice that many homes selling in the city are going for asking price, and selling as fast as they are listed. Someone seems interested in moving here, and I think you need to take another look at the value of your property. In my area a house a crossed the street sold for asking price and a house behind me was put up a week ago and is already pending. This seems good to me,for a city that everyone says is in the trash. Sorry 351. But I can not agree with your statement

8:34, it's more like the government has two sets of rules: one for the general public, and one for the illegals in Painesville and/or those who advocate for the illegals in Painesville.

The anchor store downtown is the JFS (Jobs & Family Services) building. Necessary services - definitely wrong location for the city.

No, they don't have 50% anymore. They all moving to standards based report cards. Another good thing i heard is our golf team, set a record for most wins in a season, another good thing for the city. It's not all gloom and doom.

The Band Director is Amir Jones. He is a great musician, a great man, and a great leader! He is real jewel in our community.

Interesting from the News Herald on 10-11 Hispanic Heritage Night

*Over Half -Ruth Haines stated: Painesville School District has over 50 percent Hispanic students

*Recognizing by nationality? It was the first year for the district-wide event that celebrated culture, recognized the achievements of English Language Learners and raised money for a new scholarship that supports Hispanic students.

*ELL is Very Top heavy and as stated before here - Spanish speakers get priority hiring over the English-only folks.
"Karen Gonzales and Mayra Jalomo, who works in Painesville Schools ELL Department, agreed that Hispanic Heritage Night was a great opportunity to share their culture with others.
Gonzales and Jalomo, who are former Painesville Schools students, say they can relate to many of the students challenges."
“It is important for these students to see that the district cares, “ she said. “It’s nice for families to come to events like this together.”
*Wouldn't it be nice to hear that ALL FAMILIES can see this district cares, rather than those selected by Nationality?
*Superintendent is proud his community came together? It's strong and unified? Well there is strength in numbers and with over 50 percent Mexicans I guess we as Americans will be done for soon.

Hmmm, I don't remembering anyone celebrating my heritage when I was in the Painesville Schools.
I wonder why not??

I was thinking the same thing, 1:17. But every time the people of Painesville and the country fight against this takeover, the illegals and their advocates step it up, as we have seen over and over in Painesville and the country. Now they are running two Hispanics for city council. If we don't stop this, they will soon have the votes to take over Painesville and the entire country...they're almost there, and they know it. 10:52 -- this is what the fight has been all about. For anyone not fighting, this is the time to start. Painesville has been turned in to the feds for being a sanctuary city, which we officially are now, so I hope they get around to the smaller city like ours, and not just the 5 big sanctuary cities. For one thing, it is getting harder and harder to get a job all across America if you don't also speak Spanish. I have a friend whose daughter moved to Arizona with a promise from Walmart that she could transfer to a Walmart job there. But when she got there, she was told, sorry, you have to speak Spanish also. No job. Yet this is America. One of the many reasons people voted for Trump; I hope it's not too late to save our country and our heritage. All the while, our school is celebrating the heritage of another country.

Just don't vote for the Hispanics for city council. This is how towns and cities all across America have been taken over and taken down.

Because Point Blank you are most likely White. Heaven forbid a white person asks for a day or month for them -That Is Racist - so I've been told. OK for black Only Miss America, Soul Train, TV stations & shows, colleges, barbers, Ms. Obama's girls club... The brown people demand their separations too. Only us white, absence of color folks that are the neglected.

11:39 You mean everyday is not White American Day, Shocking!

Our Superintendent is in favor of Hispanics because he speaks the language and knows that because of that our "do nothing" school board will allow him to get away with things like this. Sheppard knows that he has alienated a lot of people and the only way he can keep his job is to kowtow to the Hispanic population. Let your school board know you want him out, or elect a different school board.

No! Every day is NOT White American Day - Yes it is shocking that there isn't one. But someday, well after I leave this Earth I am sure there will be one as the "White Americans" will be the minority. Something to look forward to Eh Term?

Yes, I am unaware of white privileged - as far as I'm concerned there is NO such thing. The women got their equal rights and heck they can even Vote now!! The blacks got equal rights years ago, the Hispanics, well they have it way better than most of us. They can break all the laws they want and get away with it. Look, I sat in school as did my children with Blacks, Whites, Asian, Hispanic, Jehovah Witness, Jewish people and everyone in between. We all had the same teachers, same workbooks and the same tests. So Sorry, that there were certain kids that did not take and get the same lessons as we did. We studied hard, worked hard and nothing was ever handed to us on a silver platter. The fault lies with the kid and the parent for not succeeding, Not the Race or Religion.

Hey Anonymous 229 - Where is this fight taking place? Of course I write to my elected officials, make the calls, spill the beans on the possibility of a sanctuary city here. But I, personally don't feel it is enough. One or 2 people can't make a difference. And when I do speak out I've been called a racist. Exactly what else can be done? Maybe a Million Person anti-Illegal march on Washington? Prior to Trump's presidency, I invited him to come to Painesville hoping he could get a birds eye view of this place and what it has become. I was really surprised he never came to the county as others before him did.
