"THE BEAT GOES ON" sonny & cher

"No I'm not trying to sell you a Plymouth?"  You might have to be over 60 to understand that.

Seen  above the  fold of today's News-Herald headline;

'Sanctuary' claim refuted
Lake officials deny county, Painesville protect undocumented immigrants

Seems the uncle issue and crime have lit a firestorm.

Painesville officials, County Commissioners you name it. That's not our policy.

Seems like a Blogger from Bedford, Ohio has categorized the city of Painesville as a "sanctuary city?" His view, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck. Wonder if he's ever been here? The Scene article came up. As well as the infamous letter by Councilman Horvath and many other items.

Many will question this years crop of candidates for council their view on this issue. Will they follow through?

I only wish people were so concerned  a month ago, just maybe Mrs. Kostelnik would still be alive.

My solution, which no one will listen to.... is quite simple.

Have a city wide Town Hall Meeting In Painesville

Have the city manager who is also the safety director
Our municipal judge
Our police chief
law director
and all council members present.

With written  questions from the audience  these questions answered to the best  of their ability.

That way there can be no doubt what our policy is.

I have seen enough around Painesville to question;  "What is our policy?

I have been told by Hispanics that this  Police Chief is more forgiving then the last one? Does that statement have merit? What exactly does that mean?

The home on Lusard St. seems to have many code violations, has it been cited? Are the people presently living there legal citizens?  Where did the gun and vehicle come from? If as claimed he had a mental illness why was a 14 year old female left in his care?

Have local business been validated as having only legal employee's. By whom?

Is RITA the tax agency finding residents who live in Painesville but work in outside townships at nurseries paying city income tax?

Many questions with the hope of getting straight answers.

I again wish these Hispanics would attend more community activities, let us get to know them and them us. Seems the only time I see them is when they want something? Making excuses doesn't solve much of anything as well as shielding one from past practices.

You are going to ask questions of politicians and you expect honest and truthful answers?
Good luck with that!

Well, it going to be quite a wake up call to illegal immigrant issue. Painesville will be in the cross hairs as the Republican debate comeing up.
1. City turned blind eye for years.
2. Conflict with local enforcement and
Federal agencies.
3. Judge Mike C. sympathetic to illegal Mexicans suddenly turns stern for the national spotlight.
4. The Perfect Storm for Painesville.

This country needs to reinstate a proper guest-worker program. The American businesses still need some foreign workers, like we always have. These workers must only be allowed to work in field situations, where we need them, and only after Americans have been hired first. No guest-workers in construction, landscaping, etc. Those are jobs that Americans have always traditionally worked. But the fields must be covered before we can get the rest of them out. The groups who fight against the illegals, although I am greatly indebted to them (and fight myself), must quit fighting against the guest-worker program if we are ever to get the illegals out.

We need to restate the 14th Amendment (the anchor-baby law), and quit misreading it. In 1993 Harry Reid (D-Nev.) introduced legislation to clarify the scope of the 14th Amendment and to end the practice of granting U.S. citizenship to children born to illegal immigrants. It does not have to be amended; we just need to quit misreading it, as he well knew. That legislation never made it into law. Now the Democrats never speak of that, and want all the illegals legalized.

The only other thing we need to do is to mandate the program that the government has created for companies to check citizenship before hiring (E verify?) If they can't work, most will go home. The rest should be much easier to spot and deport.

Americans need to stand up and demand these things of our government, since they are too incompetent/pandering to do them on their own. And as far as pandering to the Hispanic vote -- that is so stupid in and of itself, because soon Hispanics will be running every office in our country, and Hispanics vote for Hispanics, so none of these other Democrats and Republics will still be in office anyway.

And at this point in time, I think Obama should be impeached for what he has done concerning illegals. Let's at least all get up and fight for our country, and the next time there is an anti-illegal rally in our square in Painesville, maybe people will understand now why they need to show up and not leave the fight to someone else. And I can only wish that Veronica Dahlberg go to Mexico to help the Mexicans there, as clearly her loyalties are with the Hispanics and not with Americans and America. A treasonous woman if ever there was. Please leave this country, Veronica. Also, if anyone is still supporting the ACLU, please stop!

Your getting hysterical. Half your proposals are illegal. The US is great because of due process and the rule of law. I will be very upset if law enforcement is constantly demanding to see my papers!

You wish that Painesville's Hispanics would attend more community activities, but why don't they? If the bigotry regularly directed towards them in the comments section of this blog is representative of how the majority of everyone else in town feels, the answer is pretty easy to figure out. Today, I spoke to a server at Compadres in Painesville Twp. She told me that, every night this week since the shooting, people at the bar, after a few drinks, have let loose with all kinds of racist and bigoted comments directed toward Mexicans. Unfortunately, as it has been proven throughout the history of this nation, whenever an individual commits a crime (or even if he/she is eventually proven to be innocent), and that individual is a minority, it's open season on that minority by the white majority. It was true with Native Americans, the Irish, the Italians, Jews; it's always been true with blacks. And, now, it's true with Latinos. So, instead of asking Hispanics/Latinos to attend more community functions, perhaps you should ask if there's enough of everyone else to want them to attend.

What was the weapon that was used for the murder? If it was a rifle , was the rifle carried from Lusard Street to the Greenway and down the Greenway to Concord?

That is a a journey, like someone hunting during deer season.

Was the murder committed in the home or was it by a random shot from the Greenway itself?

With a country with what 12 million illegals, I guess its about time we start checking papers. Or will we wait until someone shows up at your back door?
The Mexicans have no bigotry? Again it's our fault. everything is our fault.

2:26, I have the same thoughts about Cicconetti. Thought it was kind of cute before, didn't he, that we had so many unknown, unlicensed, illegal people in Painesville. Now he demands on the national stage to know why the illegal is here, what does he want, who is he, and where are his papers. Riiiiiiight.

To 5:59. How about the millions of Hispanics that are here illegally go HOME, and quit sucking our country and its citizens dry, and murdering and raping and stealing from us (look it up), and then maybe Americans will quit resenting them. Most of them shouldn't even be here, but yet you are blaming it on Americans for resenting it. Yeah, it must be the fault of White people...everything is, you know.

The blogger that was mentioned in the Scene Magazine article is Steve Salvi (salvi@ojjpac.org), and yes, he has been to Painesville, and he does have knowledge of what is going on here. He has been fighting this invasion for many years. You can look on his website and see just some of the many, many Americans who have been injured and/or killed by the illegals in this country. When I hear people in our government and average citizens say over and over that they are just nice people who want to work here and take care of their families, and these same people fail to open their brains to see all the many, many implications of all these people here illegally, or worse yet, fight the people who are fighting the illegals, I wonder just what they would be saying if they or someone in their family were hurt/killed by someone who didn't even belong in this country. Americans need to get informed. Trump needs to get Salvi to speak at his rallies, because I don't even think Trump knows how right Trump is.

As a white, I hear plenty of bigotry from blacks and Mexicans, my job allows those 2 groups to constantly and continually call me a racist. The worst thing about it? There is nothing I can say back to defend myself, else I would be fired.

3:12,

I'm not blaming white people; I'm simply asking a question: Do whites want Latinos at events in Painesville? From the tone of your response to my previous post, I take it that your answer would be "no". I have the feeling that the majority of answers among Painesville residents would be "no", and it was probably that way long before last week's crimes, but it's still a question worth asking.

As for your screed about "Americans" maybe not resenting illegals if they go back to their home countries, I doubt that would change the bigotry and hatred among people of your ilk even if every illegal person did what you demand; there'd still be plenty of American-born or naturalized Latinos and Latinas for you and your kind to despise.

As for blaming white people, I'm not - other than the white business owners who rely on illegal immigrants to work in their nurseries, pick their crops, and do construction work at wages far below what they'd have to pay to American-born workers. Oh, and politicians who paid lip service to this mess while doing little or nothing, other than push for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, which is kinda like shutting the barn door after all its occupants have escaped. They could actually do something meaningful like enact tough laws punishing businesses from employing illegals, but business owners who like the cheap labor, and who donate to political campaigns, tend to like the status quo, so symbolism continues to trump (no pun intended) substance. Oh, and also consumers who patronize these businesses because they prefer lower prices for their landscaping, grocery produce and drywall installation. Would they pay higher prices if they knew a business didn't employ illegals? Would you?

By the way, please tell me, when you go to church or say a prayer, does your bigotry get in the way of any conversations with the god you worship? One could assume that you're not one of those What Would Jesus Do? folks.

Maybe hat could be done is since the idea of a sanctuary city is to let people come out of the shadows, which in this case has failed miserable we should deport 25 illegals in Painesville and explain if you can't control your community we will.
Watch how fast things get under control.

This is 3:12 to 9:19. Knock it off. I don't want illegals here, so now it's my "ilk", and you think you have the right to talk about me and God? Nice try. Illegals are illegals, and they need to get the hell out of my country. Just because they, and you, feel that they (and you?) are entitled to steal my money and this country so you find every way in the world to turn it back on White people and to obscure the issue, that is no concern of mine. If you are illegal, get out. Really...get out. Also, you sound more than a little prejudiced against White people; I think you had better go talk to God.

Sorry 9:19, not going to let you get away with blaming what is probably 40 million illegals in the United States of America back on the Americans who are fighting it. And you are screaming the usual "prejudice" to get White people to shut up, while now adding God. It's not working. Try again.

What would Jesus do, 9:19? Since Americans and their hard-earned money take care of not only the entire freekin' world, now we are taking care of maybe 40 million illegals in our own country, I think maybe God would want America to stay strong. Can we stay strong letting the entire world of illegals into our country? For that answer, go to Mexico and check out how they are doing? Are they helping us to take care of the entire freekin' world, or are they all in America usurping America and sucking us dry? Nice try trying to blame it back on legal Americans, but it ain't going to work on this exhausted, broke American. Throwing God into the mix, though, instead of just the usual prejudice claim...that's good. It ain't going to work, but it's good...creative. Again, yes, it must be legal White people's fault. God only knows it can't be the fault of the illegals.

In the year 2050 100 years after my birth. the country will be 50% White, 50% Black, Hispanic and Asian.

It really doesn't matter if you like it or not this will be the make-up of the United States Of America.

9:19: What does God think about the illegals going into a country and taking jobs and benefits unlawfully from that country? That's apparently okay with God in your book?

And you had better go talk to Mexico, because their country doesn't let ANY illegal Americans live there, let alone give them a free ride. They must REALLY be in trouble with God.
