COUNCIL MEETING 12/16/13

Ah, the last meeting of the year and the last meeting for Council-President Joseph Hada. Mr. Hada has served on council for 32 years, I have tried to find it any council person in Painesville or Lake County ever served this long of a tenure?

You have to wonder if Mr. Fitzgerald will attend this meeting?

Let's hope we have a quorum this Monday? We would have to have a special meeting between now and the end of the year.

A lot of loose ends need to be tied up , Inter-fund transfers. setting up funds for the fire and road levy money

This meeting also will define a "family" can't wait.

Also vacant property will be on first reading?

Knotts Enterprises will get the go ahead  with plans for the old hospital site.

Council will hopefully sign the agreement to sell the aerial fire truck and it then will no longer be pending.

Lets not forget the awards tonight for Morley Library, Classic Buick and former city manager Rita McMahon.

St Marys, another AMP sucker community north of Dayton ... city expenses running 2.2 million higher than last year ... PRAIRIE STATE

The residents there can expects a huge increase in electric rates soon.

St Marys contracted for only 1/3 the power that Painesville and Galion.

How much money is Painesville losing with Rita and Hada's " GIFT " to the city? Nobody knows it's top secret

After reading all these stories about Amp you have to wonder how bad does it have to get before anyone does anything?
It's like a cancer some will go fast, other will struggle with the electric costs until theres nothing left.

Everyone should have seen this coming, after all, King Obama did promise about 5-6 years ago that he would bankrupt anyone trying to use coal as an electric source.

But of course Painesville is 80+% Dems so the selective memories are switched on.

@ 1.42

I despise Obama, but he had nothing to do with this coal plant. It was proposed and sold to the sucker communities while the Shrub was in office.

The cost overruns had zero fingerprints from Obummer.

1:42 This deal was 2007 Obama didn't assume office until 2009?
Than again blame gas fraking if anything. Plus the fact that the GOP shipped jobs outside the country.(Bain Capital) The best guess I have is that AMP-OHIO, Peabody Coal knew this and found people to screw over.

Well someone finally mentioned that our President may have something to do with what is happening not only at AMP, Prairie State, Miegs county and coal plants all over the USA.
In 2007 did anyone think Obama would when or Congress would let him "kill coal". The experts at the time ALL OVER the country didn't think see it. Several years ago the Wall Street Journal had an Article stating this. For some reason EPA doesn't see any need to regulate or stop pollution from fracking. Got to love those lobbyist. when people comment they really need to think to research ALL THE CAUSES

If Obama killed coal why in electric power still so cheap?
We have more power than we can use and AMP-OHIO told us back in 2006 by now we would be running out of it?

@946 AMP was full of $**T

City sfter city in the greater Columbus area have slashed electrical used by 50 - 75% by switching over to LED street lighting and retrofiiting existing lighting to LED.

Thousands upon thousands on energy efficient appliances are replacing old units slashing the need for power, this is all going on while AEP has actually closed nearly a dozen coal fired plants without a problem.

AMP lied and few bothered to check the facts. Those that did speak up, we labeled as enviro nuts by HADA and his stooge manager RITA
