"BOUND 2" kanye west

Predictions? Bound 2 will be the video, song, as well as artist of the year. Don't believe me? Just ask Kanye.

Now for some Painesville predictions. Remember none are based on anything., just a gut feeling.

Let's start with an easy one.

Painesville will pave Courtland St. in Fairport before it paves the one in Painesville. Sorry.

Take a good look at the old hospital site... The way it looks today is the way it will look a year from now.

Streetscape of Main St. should be pretty much finished by the time of Taste of Painesville. The question most asked at that time. will be "no really what did you do with $1.4 million?'

I see the law director retiring. Really he doesn't need this B.S. does he?

That Urgent Care Center, or Emergency Room promised for Painesville? Still just a promise. I have heard that the staff at Subway on the Square now carries Band-Aids.

Another Fire Station for Painesville? Well we have the money ,how long can we leave brand-new fire apparatus as well as older fire equipment just rust outside the fire station?
Land was annexed into the city so ONE employee can take a dump? Just think about it if he lived in the township and makes $500.00 a week he now pays Painesville  $520.00 in income tax for that privilege. Sorry I'm not buying any of this story.

Could our Senior Center be homeless? Who owns the Dorthy- Allen Building? What's it's future? What long time deals have or haven't been made with the city? What's with the old hotel site?

AMP-OHIO will continue to screw us on electric purchases. Their next big contract start's in 2015. Sorry that deal was signed sealed and delivered almost 5 years ago. Now I sense one of our county cousins sees a weakness and will ask Painesville to fund some crazy electric deal. Lets hope city leaders understand the meaning of the word COULD.

THIS WAS ADDED 01/09/13
I forgot my big surprise, We will be building a new county jail this year. Yes I mentioned it a couple of months ago. It just slipped my mind. but not my wallet.

-Think I'm just an old mean little man? Someone who believes Painesville can rise from the ashes?
Someone should ask Carol Shmakian how much co-operation the city building department gives her as long as grief? You want to know why
Painesville is in the position it presently in? This department would be a good place to start. What exactly is the damn hold-up?

**************** WHO WILL BE THE NEXT COUNCIL-PRESIDENT???***************

Had a beer at Little Mountain Brewing Company last week. Talked to the chef, he was contacted to be the chef and cater for Steele Mansion..... After delay after delay and zoning issues he moved on. He had a front row seat to how hard it is to open a business in Painesville. Mr Carson needs to go have lunch and talk to Chris, he will start to understand why people don't want to come to Painesville. Do you think Mentor or Willoughby would allow their Main Business district to look like ours? Buy a vowel get clue city development.

Painesville made a huge mistake with the progress of Steele Mansion. Word on the street: If you have a start up business and a decent business plan, go to Mentor or Willoughby. Many outside this city are painfully aware of how hard it is to open a business here. Mentor is offering grants and help and the red carpet with open arms.

Why don't you ask Carol, she seems to tell a different story to go as far as inviting R.M. to cut the ribbon next spring. I know its something positive.

I predict Painesville will raise electric rates 20% in 2015.

The new city manager who claims he knows all about electric contracts does nothing when AMP delivers a suitcase full of cash to him.

Businesses that are marginal will close as their expenses skyrocket and less revenue is available to spend locally as that money is now shipped to AMP in Columbus.

It's going to be a great year for AMP. More champagne, caviar, lobster and BMW'S for the execs there.

Sandy, your 100% correct. The number 1 thing holding Painesville City back...Is Painesville City.

The city manager should give his whole economic development team something usefull to do and then have a meeting with developers, investors and listen to them. On dealing with certain city departments, 3:34 maybe you could listen in?
Put the blame where it belongs.

When will the council members be sworn in? I was under the impressin that their terms started 1-1-13.1-2-13. and 1-3-13?

7:21 Sorry, I believe Mr. Carson wouldn't except the suitcase, and two AMP-OHIO has no need to send one. The deals are written in stone. This along with a present council what sees no reason for an investigation. That approves sending checks of over $2 million as normal business? 3 readings remember? AMP-OHIO is in the drivers seat.

3:34 am....... the way Steele Mansion was handled was not R.M. I listened to her at several meetings and got the sincere impression she wanted to see this move forward. You had two council people, neighbors, zoning etc that turned this into an uphill battle. Somebody in this city needs to get a backbone and stand up for good local business.

Other communities have watched the Main Street mess, the farmers market mess and the Steele mansion mess. Toss in the roads, AMP and prior school administrations and you have an image problem.

One of the reasons Mr Carson was hired was to bring business back to Painesville, not sure he had all the cards face up.

We bought a broken down house here about 20 years ago and needed to do some major renovations on it before we could move in. There was a woman in the city who was in charge of some of the inspections. Actually, if I recall, she was in charge of the plumbing inspections, I think. She was horrible. We had to wait a very long time for each inspection, and she gave us the very hardest time she could, and we thought that she was purposefully harassing us and giving us a hard time, and it seemed she enjoyed every moment of our distress. We almost had to move into the house with no plumbing, as our time was running out on the house we sold. It was horrible, and we ended up hating Painesville before we even actually moved in.

I was heating my house with electric for a few years, trying to save money. Painesville City gouged me so badly for the bill, that this year, I am back to heating with gas, and saving a ton of money. Not only are the bills outrageous for electric in this city, but some of the people in that electric department are disgusting. I now am adding LED bulbs, and have my electric bill down to almost nothing...even WITH their mysterious Power Cost Factor, or whatever that crap is. By the time I finish adding the LED bulbs everywhere I can, my bill should be close to nothing. So you win, electric department, and I am out...at least as far as I CAN be.

This is 4:53, and about a year ago, I realized I was making a different mistake. Just in case someone else is doing the same thing, I'll tell you what I did. Back a few years ago, when we were given the choice of gas suppliers, and we could choose between staying with Dominion East Ohio or switching to a different one, I had switched to a different company. For a while, we had to call every now and then to make sure we had the cheapest price that company (Dominion Energy Solutions) had to offer, which was a pain, of course, and something we found out we had to do after we had already switched over. Well, after a while they said we didn't have to call anymore and they guaranteed they would always give us the lowest price. A couple of years went by and I didn't give it any thought. About a year ago, I started to research it, and come to find out, we were really being overcharged by the new company, and if we went back to Dominion East Ohio, we could get it cheaper. It took one quick phone call to Dominion East Ohio, as they are always the one that does the billing anyway. (As the prompts come up, you used to be able to just keep saying "I need to talk to someone," and after about the third one, you get a person.)I told them I wanted to cancel Dominion Energy Solutions, and get back with Dominion East Ohio, and I wanted to sign up with a SCO (Standard Choice Offer). They'll sign you up with a supplier at a regulated rate. I went from paying 6.99 mcf to 3.67 mcf. It's now up to 4 something, but it is saving me a lot on my bill. Dah. Anyway, just in case anyone else changed suppliers and then forgot about it, you may want to make sure you're not making the same mistake. I'm just going to stick with Dominion East Ohio as the supplier from now on.

7:36 The only way to get a deal from AT&T? Be a Time Warner customer. Only way to get a deal from Time-Warner? Be an AT&T customer. Yes consumers must be always on there toes.

I suggested a few years ago the city find a gas supplier for residents on a year contract they could sign up or not. The utility committee took zero action?
In hindsight after watching electric power deals, maybe it's just best they didn't?

There was a report residential use of electricity has gone back to 2001 levels?
Yes we needed these deals alright.
