CONCORD TOWNSHIP

Businesses coming to Crile Crossing

Burgers, Beer and Coffee coming to Concord!

You have to hand it to that Downtown Concord Organization for attracting 'new' business to their community! They got a name!

What you say there is no Downtown Concord Organization? Well explain why they get businesses to locate there?

Well, they have an 18.8 percent growth since 2000. This community is in need to services like a dry cleaners. And business owner's recognize this.

So as someone mentioned in a previous post Downtown Painesville Organization being a 501c3 non-profit they have to report finances. Yes they have income of $111,938.00 and assets of $38,583.00 Now what these assets are I have no idea. As far as income I only know $22,000.00 comes from the city. I guess to many council member's it's viewed as chump change? I know the Friday Car Show is supported by sponsor's wonder what DPO get's to keep?

My point? The reason no ones comes to Downtown Painesville to shop is twofold first there's limited things you can purchase, second Painesville isn't on their radar, even resident's. For a whole host of reasons.

Grant monies as well as General Fund assets combined to 1.3 million didn't change a thing.

Now that $22,000 doesn't include all the physical services the city provides downtown.

Before Painesville increasers their payment to DPO as well as funding for next year an open transparent spread sheet should be shown to residents where the money comes from and where it is going. Can we say 'Checkbook Ohio?'

Look I don't expect a Burgers-n-Beer or a Starbucks but I do expect something! Seems DPO has a name but very little else.

Well at least the Big Wheel races behind Nemeth's Lounge was a success!

First off I don't suggest or believe Donald Trump is connected with any White Supremacy group
although the Hillary, Star and money first did appear on a White Supremacy site. I asked how did this happen? Well the answer is fairly easy to figure out. The man in charge of Trump's internet feeds just so happens to be a caddie at one of Trumps golf courses? Can't wait to see who's in his cabinet!

I guess what surprises me the most is that the city would take taxpayers funds to support an organization without that organization having to show how all their funds are spent. You are correct $22,000 is small potatoes to council but they should show more concern for taxpayer's money. Can't watch little amounts how to do watch the big ones?
I also agree you, a revitalized downtown is just a wishful thinking to the ones left downtown.

Good point taxpayers money. Also the Senior Center funding or anyone else getting funding should all face the same scrutiny. If not why not?

Lake County is in decline, and circling the drain. Just compare police blotter today, from twenty years ago. Painesville has already gone down the drain. There is definitely an affluent flight to Geauga County, and if I could afford it, I'd be migrating away too!

Just what the Crile Rd area needs, more businesses to add to the traffic problems.
In the mean time, we have NOTHING!
Much thanks to the DPO for helping out!

I have watched this town waste away before my eyes. Look back at what was here. Sears, Carlisles, Newberry, Kresge, Gail Grant, a hotel, a theater, the YMCA, banks, car dealers, grocery stores, a thriving Main Street. I know there are lots more to help prove a point. Now, not even 1 grocery store.
Please dont blame it on the Mall, Chardon and Willoughby still have thriving downtowns along with the Mall. What a shame we pay so many big shots at city hall to do nothing to help this town.

When is the senior center being torn down and who is paying for that? The County owns the building, right?

Seems our city council gives carte blanche to all their friend's downtown. Best guess they want to be liked and for the most part none of us seem to not care? These practices must end.

I smell T.R.O.U.B.L.E. under the dome. Hoping these recent incidents will push council over the edge and start looking for a new city manager. With only a 1 year extension they'd better get busy now if not sooner. Though it is easier to live with your mistake than say you've made one. You can and will be forgiven.
